If people massively switched to Bitcoin to avoid cash regulations, the government would quickly implement similar regulations with crypto. Exchanges and merchants would have to do KYC (many of them already do), and they would share financial data with the government. Some people would try to do p2p transactions, but this would be as illegal as these large cash transactions, and people wouldn't want to risk it.
How about localbitcoin? P2p transaction? I think no people can stop bitcoin transaction or bitcoin holding even its government. People will start buy and holding crypto |

hitbtc exchange didn't allow users to transfer or withdrwal #ICX icon for me about 4 months and for some other users more than a year.
and they even didn't announce about that to warn the users not to transfer between trading wallet and main wallet, they just keep it that way for years to get more users into these troubles

if the excahnge's has been regulated by goverment, they must be legal activity too, they must report to goverment for each "suspicious activity" . the "anon transaction" feature from all altcoin above is the main reason to delist them. but if the exchange still unregulated + decentralized, goverment can't stop them to list any coin.
tracking transaction is very important for goverment, they can get tax income, they can track any "terorism fund", or illegal activity too.
