69  Economy / Services / Re: [ PAYING 33-53 BTC ] Create a Graphical Introduction to Bitcoin Thread on: May 07, 2012, 02:15:39 PM
I'm 16 years old, and got into Bitcoin when I was 15 years old. Granted I've been programming, doing server administration, and the likes for years and years, but I was able to understand the technical aspect of it.

That said, it isn't necessary to understand the technical side of it, and is in fact a turn-off to a lot of people. It makes Bitcoin seem "geeky" and only for tech guys. If the person is really interested in the technical side of it, they can learn that after the fact.

Just introduce them to Bitcoin, I say. But then, this isn't my bounty.

+1, you nailed it.

Unfortunately, computer geeks typically aren't too great at psychology which is the basis for effective marketing.

People like to feel safe, secure, loved, cool, sexy, excited, etc.

Nobody gives a shit about C++ or linux or FPGAs or cryptography.

But, if you can convince someone that using Bitcoin makes them cooler and sexier, then you have a winner.  When you have an unbelievably awesome product and you market it inappropriately, you end up where TiVo is.

Why would cryptocurrency be cool or sexy?

I don't see even the most hardcore Bitcoin fans in lingerie running around showing off their wallet.dat swag.
70  Economy / Services / Re: I need ~2000 views on a youtube video. on: May 07, 2012, 02:10:49 PM
Tecshare: Say I'd want to make myself famous. What would you recommend that I'd do a video about, and how much would it cost to promote it to national television in a medium sized European country?

You need to create a viral video, look at Youtube front page to see things people are interested in.
Google also provides trend, upcoming, keyword. etc tools, use these to your advantage.

Make sure your vid is optimized to be high in youtube and google search results, use good keywords..

If your video is not VERY searched for, like natural disasters, music videos, news events.. Use Youtube boost services (viewtornado, enhance views, vagex) and boost your views AFTER 300 or so views start coming in to avoid views being frozen, as this is just a hassle (this should take less than a week with any video optimized properly). Also (this is very important) buy twitter tweets, fb shares, from popular fanpages, this will bring viral traffic.

After you are at 100k+, your video will be highly noticeable, and TV will come and report about it if it is related to your country.

Yes, we can use an escrow. I encourage this. Go find a drop or reshipping service if you're paranoid. I've shipped thousands of dollars worth of pens to my home address a year ago and have never had problems.

Devices are replacements voluntarily given out by the company, they will behave like all other devices, because that is what they are.
Of course you can do anything with them.

I am currently finishing some large fuelband + kindle orders, hmu if you want some too

Thank you, sent you a PM.

Amazon GCs are out of stock. Thank you for all of your interest everyone, these products are still available for sale.

That's one extremely lousy proof.
Why would you censor an order number ?

pic was taken + edited by customer, not me. sorry.

You forgot to mention that you are submitting products you dont own for replacement, in some unsuspecting buyers name too, thats fucked up.

Companies cannot bill you with your address, if you'd like to show how this is possible, go ahead please.

We have access to all of the original products, we are not 'borrowing' the names of buyers, and there really isn't a way to make up names of people who actually own products.

Anyone is welcome to use a 'drop' or reshipping service, however, there is no need.
Of course, if by "access" you mean getting your serials/pids from real people selling their electronics on ebay or craigslist. This works all fine and dandy until either

a) the company asks for a return (95% of the time). Companies like microsoft, logitech and amazon has already started billing people who do not return their (supposedly) broken products. Of course, Nyaaan is not going to tell the buyer this, and a few months later, the buyer gets a bill for the full purchase price of the product. By then, Nyaaan is long gone, and the buyer is screwed.
b) the original owner needs warranty service, and he finds out his warranty is void. then the owner proves he/she is the actual owner, and the buyer gets billed.

basically what Nyaaan is doing is this:
1. make up or get a serial from ebay/cragislist user
2. call the company and say the product is broken
3. the company will ask him to send the product in, in which case Nyaaan will make up some bullshit story saying he can't send it in
4. they'll send a replacement product, and possibly ask for a credit card number to charge in case the product isn't returned. (the credit card is usually stolen or a $25 gift card)
5. the buyer gets his product, posts a positive review
6. everything goes well until all the buyers start getting bills
7. Nyaaan runs away

Even if you don't get billed/caught, the bottom line is what Nyaaan is doing is fraud, pure and simple.

You can use a drop / alternate address / reshipping service, I have said this many times.
Products are shipped as replacements, companies do not ask for the product back, so we do not need to use credit cards, and the customer will not be billed for any reason. You can try it with your method, it will not work. We have our own ways.

I have many customers who resell on Ebay and Craigslist etc., they have had no problems for years. You can go buy a 10% off brand new electronic from Ebay, there is a high chance that it is from one of my resellers. You can get the same things from me but cheaper.
