61  Economy / Gambling / Re: NON PROFIT BTC sports betting leagues on: August 27, 2012, 10:27:52 AM
I adapted the rules so that anyone can bet on any sport event during the month league. The restriction from the free bettracker application is of three concurrent bets other than that no restrictions are in place and every one is free to place as many bets he wants.

63  Economy / Gambling / Re: NON PROFIT BTC sports betting leagues on: August 26, 2012, 09:05:02 PM
maybe easier and more interesting if we don't define the games to bets on and everyone is free to bet on what ever he wants during the month. End of the month we simply check the achievements and do the payouts accordingly on the total deposits.

we can define 2 leagues for 1BTC and 11BTC

what do you think?

It's a blockchain.info wallet that will act as the bank wallet at least for now.
65  Economy / Gambling / SEPTEMBER BTC sports betting leagues (Current League Pot 6 BTC) on: August 26, 2012, 08:14:42 PM
With the new NFL season starting and the football/soccer season already running I want to setup a NON FOR PROFIT BTC sportsbook betting league(s).

You can bet on any sport event during the month. No restrictions on the amount of bets nor bet types. Each one increasing his balance over the initial credits will be a winner.

How:
We would use already available betting systems available for all platforms iOS, Android, Blackberry, Windows, MAC, Linux (bettracker.com) for free. We define 2 leagues the 1 BTC league and the 10BTC league and run the leagues for one month with payout on the first of the following month based on the achievement in the league.

The bettracker app is for free if we don't bet on more than 3 concurrent sports events so the idea would be to select 3 NFL matches and 3 Football/Soccer matches per week. We would take the 3 most popular events per week and place bets on it. Bettracker enable full betting transparency from each participants with live ranking. Each participants can check the bets and standing of each other.

Finance:
To enter a monthly league we would deposit each 1.1 BTC or 11BTC which would give a starting purse of 100 credits in the 1BTC leage respective 1000 credits in the 10BTC league (1BTC = 100 credits + 0.1 BTC for potential costs of operation, miners transactions fee, donations, jackpots,...).

From the 1 or 10 BTC deposits we would pay the winners at the end of each month based on their results 100 credits = 1 BTC. If the house has not enough bankroll we would calculate the payouts based on the available bankroll per league and the total credits to be paid.

The extra 0.1 BTC respective 1 BTC will be used for the mentioned various managing tasks and will be discussed directly in the forum. If successful we would surely want to develop an automated deposit and payout system this will be paid out of the managing fees (0.1 / 1.00 BTC).

It's possible to re-buy multiple time during the month.

Signup process:

1. Go here: https://bettracker.com/home/ and signup for free don't chose any plans just skip that step
2. PM me the email you used to signup at bettracker and the league you want to join (1BCT,10BTC, both) or post it in the forum you can use anonymous emails i.e http://mailnesia.com/
3. In return I will send you a unique depositing address from the house wallet (@blockchain.info). Send 1.1 BTC, 11 BTC to that address or 12.1 BTC if you want to participate in both leagues.
4. Once your deposit clears I will add you your chosen the league. You will then have a purse of 100 respective 1000 credits to bet on any sports events proposed by bettracker (NFL, Soccer, Golf, Tennis, Formula 1...) within the month.

The two starting leagues are:

1 BTC SEPT League
10 BTC SEPT League

Please give your feedback and/or improvement ideas!

I believe it could be a lot of fun!! Thanks to bitcoin all transactions (deposits/payouts) will be transparent the house wallet balance will be know from all and published regularly.

Hope you will find this as attractive as I do! Try it out it's already operational.

Thank you for your interest, brian

Full disclosure: I'm in no way affiliated with bettracker and I won't take any profits from this operation. I will also not run away with the wallet (escrows services could be setup). I do this simply for fun. Should it become unmanageable for me I will seek help from other forum members.

Just to let you all know that online gambling is not illegal in the US. Players have nothing to fear from playing at online casinos or poker sites.
On the other hand, owning a portion of a gambling business that violates the laws of any State in which it conducts business is.

This only apply for onshore (US based) operations not offshore entities.

and for our US poker friends!

Aug 22 (Reuters) - A federal judge for the first time has given legal backing to something card sharks have known for ages: Poker is a game of skill, not chance.

Just to let you all know that online gambling is not illegal in the US. Players have nothing to fear from playing at online casinos or poker sites.

The only illegal activity is the act of processing money (currencies, bitcoins were not yet recognize as currencies) to and from online gambling sites. As no third parties are involved in processing bitcoins to online gambling sites nothing is illegal in operating online gambling websites such as SD, at least for the moment!

ok when they did everything right -> why are they offline??
if i get the source i will keep it up running Wink
They didn't do it right but if we change the formula we could make it fun. I would be wanting to host/operate a corrected version if we can get the source of it to save some dev time. If the owner or OP could contact me.

It was not a good ponzy formula except for the first 50 maybe. The way of using bitcoin and the blockchain was good so maybe some better long term concept will emerge out of it.

i could think of a game where every one can only deposit a fix amount and it get distributed randomly between x/10 of the participants. Some account will win some will lose.
