Genuinely interested to know:
Governments around the world are seriously targeting websites like PureVidz.
But, let's say it manages to avoid take downs for a year or two. Fuck it, lets say it sticks around for 5 years.
If I invest in PureVidz, there is always the risk that the web site will be taken down and the market cap would obviously go to zero.
So where is the long-term investment opportunity? Seems like the risk is mostly in the hands of investors. With a 20% premine, the devs would obviously want to cash out ASAP.
Perhaps I missed something.
How is this community proposing to deal with this issue and is the devs solution plausible to everyone? stick to your Vtorrent project. Don't worry about this one. Seems you have your hands full already with your train wreck of a project.  As someone else once said: i never seen so many haters in one thread. you guys need to learn from other communities that r more welcoming to others with different views.

Looks like the investing is slowing down. Will it make the target or flunk like a dope dealing class skipping highschooler.
Yes dude its going to make it. Its almost sure that it will hit the target. Its over 50% now and the last days are coming up. I just hope its not overbought and does not sell 100 btc in the last day. I dont want to get any more diluted then I have already. Actually I hope it gets a shit ton of bitcoin the last day. That way the value goes up and the amount of Vidz I already invested becomes more valuable. Nope you get that wrong i think??? At the moment this project is a steal at 30 sats ish. If a crazy number invests on last day then lets say a few hundred btc that means you now get less vidz and the price is higher! The less at this stage the better... Perfect world will be 50.000000001 btc raised which gives massive room for the 40 sat to ROI tens of times easily. From how I see it the current price is 30 sat. As the investment grows you get less as the amount of bitcoin investment grows. As it reaches 50 btc it also reaches 50 sat. Because I investe at 27 sat I will get 27 sat worth of coins. At least that's how I see it. That is wrong how you see it. 50 btc makes the price 40 sat, now if people buy up to 100btc makes it 80sat, you pay 80 sat and your investment has been diluted by others... You pay what everyone else pays hence he was saying he doesn't want his investment diluted anymore Which is why we don't want more than 50 btc raised to have the most vidz possible. Yup I was wrong my bad. I can see as the bitcoin goes up my Vidz amount goes down makes sense. Yup I hope it gets 50.01 too |

We've made a small update before the end of the sale, there have been some changes to the "TV" section of the site that will now let you better navigate episodes of a series rather than every episode of a season being a single entry, now there is one entry by TV series and the seasons are grouped with their respective episodes. Thank you to those who have invested so far, we're now at about 60%, with just below 48 hours left  To the DEV: After further testing I can conclude that I'm having problems with safari browser. Please get a hold of a mac and conduct further testing. I would want this product to work smoothly on as many platforms as possible for maximum possible exposure. Many college students (myself included) use macbooks and would simply click away if a movie failed to go and probably never come back. First impressions are important so please look into fixing these issues ASAP. Thanks. Thank you for the feedback. Unfortunately safari does not yet support WebRTC (the method the site uses to connect to torrents through the browser). It looks like it's starting to be added but isn't quite there yet. That is something that is not in our control and will be reliant on apple rolling out updates to add support for. http://iswebrtcreadyyet.com/We can look into implementing a feature that warns users if they're using a browser incompatible with WebRTC and recommenced and alternative browser such as Firefox or Chrome. Thanks for the link. I was previously having problem even with chrome on my mac, perhaps a different mac google chrome version? Anyway I downloaded firefox on my mac and confirm that everything works now. 0 Problems with firefox on mac. I would definitely look into this and even go as far as alerting users on mac using safari/chrome to try firefox. Can anyone with a mac confirm chrome problems? I find it strange that firefox works 100% but chrome for me on mac hardly works with streaming the torrents. |

If I invest in te ICO am I essentially pre buying coins or does the investment go towards the sites revenue?
It makes sense to hedge investments so I am with you on that one and sorry for jumping the gun I just couldn't workout why I had not seen any complaints when I read the thread back like ten pages when I found this lastnight and like you I was blown away with quality and speed. You should leave the dev team a pm though to see if they can help for future reference. When I read the white paper which you can too here http://www.purevidz.net/Info/Intro everything is designed to take away the necessity of any extensions or downloads which is a very big sell for me. From my reading and understanding, the coin brought and finances raised in the ICO will not go towards the site revenue. It will be used to market the site and help with expenses that usually arise when creating a big site until the time when the site is standing on its own which shouldn't be to long in all fairness. It says funds on the site will be raised in many ways ranging from - Advertisements on site, targeted Advertisements, VIP memberships, VPN referrals. As you can see like I did, this can make an absolute fortune and goes above and beyond any standard streaming site. I highly recommend reading the entire whitepaper and basing your decision on what you find there. I found gold with the way the escrow works with targets to release funds their funds and the extremely high transparency moving forward. And of course "most of all" the way my BTC is going to turn into more BTC. I read the whitepaper but I still don't see where it mentions how we are getting paid back. Are we paid back a percent of the sites profits? If this is like a normal crypto coin can't you just buy it off an exchange? in the finances section they discuss buyback and burning, both increase the value of the coin because when coins get taken out of circulation the coins that are held by investors are then worth more and buy backs are self explanatory So the ICO is us basically pre buying coins? Glad to hear it's working for you now. Was the initial issue you had also with chrome? Do you have any addons? Sounds like some sort of compatibility or settings issue causing the connection to be blocked. The site should work with any modern browser and it has been tested with IE, Chrome, Firefox and Safari. I cannot speak towards other lesser used browsers but if they support html5 and webrtc it should function properly. How much is the reward going to be for uploading torrents now?
There is a global bounty of 1kk VIDZ tokens currently which will be open until the full 1.0 version of the site launches (refer to development timeline). The amount of tokens you get per item submitted to the site depends on how many items are submitted total. For example if 1000 movies and 10,000 episodes of TV are submitted, that's 20,000 'points' (movies are 10 points, episodes are 1 point) so each point would be worth 50 vidz and you would be credited based on all of the content you submitted during that period. I'm not sure exactly what the problem is but It still only works in incognito and even then I'm having problems. I'm going to check my firewall settings later today after I remember my password... |

Sounds like bad internet to me, I have about 10 tabs and watching hangover which started instantly and is very high quality. PM the dev with more info as i'm just an investor. I just finished watching prestige about magicians, very cool movie and I recommend to anyone. Dynamic what movie are you having issues with I'll try it out for a second opinion? It might just be me then.. It's every movie I try it's stuck on "Initializing torrent stream... please wait...". Maybe it's my router? idk because I can torrent fine normally not sure what I'm doing wrong |

No. I think if you look at GitHub, you can pretty much work out what's coming. In which order features will be released is a different issue. But vTorrent is exceptionally feature rich compared to just about every coin out there right now. I do mean, every coin. What do you see that is coming? I'm looking at the GitHub and don't "see" what you see. |
