Does somebody know of a good faucet website? Something of "chainz" block explorer quality.

Just having fun before the announcement.

Too bad, I have some idea. Just my version of logo. I like this one 10 times more for example.

Are you planning to keep this logo? Or will there be some kind of logo contest?
This logo seems to be done in 5 minutes and I think it is not good for the overall coin positioning.
It took quite a bit more than 5 minutes. The idea was to make a coin look like a real gold coin. We're not opposed to a log contest a bit down the road. Sorry, I did not mean to offend. But I really do know how to do this in 5 minutes :-) (I have some experience with graphic design) I believe in long term success of this project and am slowly accumulating more coins. But in my perception, the logo and the splash screen look "cheap" (sorry again) and that is not what I want for a long term investment. I am offering 35,000 ASN bounty for logo design and supporting artwork: * logo * "asn accepted here" * splashscreen for the wallet * official twitter account background Perhaps some more users would want to fund this as well. I hope dev will reach out and promote the contest. Thanks

Dev, the OP says:
> Total PoW coins: ~18,366,434.32052889 > Total coins (including PoS): 21,000,000 (estimated)
* ~18,366,434.32052889 should probably be written as "~ 18.3 million", as "~" means "approximately", and "approximately 18,366,434.32052889" sounds kind of funny * 18,366,434.32052889 is the number of POW + POS coins, not just POW. I am not sure how to calculate the exact number of POW blocks other that writing some custom C++ code in the wallet or some JS in the block explorer. * Perhaps it is better to word it like this: "Total number of coins after POW phase: 18.36 million" (Info taken from this post: "blocks" : 8501, "moneysupply" : 18357943.47230971)
* What does the "Total coins (including PoS): 21,000,000" mean? Isn't POS supposed to just increase the total number of coins 20% each year indefinitely?
PS: What do these symbols mean: ☀★♫✌♪? (Sun, star, music, ok, music). Some hints to the roadmap details this weekend? :-)
Thanks

This is just a side note, but there are quite a few altcoins that are not forks of any other coin (in other words, coded from scratch).
Would you mind naming a few? Just curious. Thanks Sure. I might not have them all precisely right, as I'm not particularly interested in any of these, but anyhow: Bytecoin, NXT, Ripple, VanillaCoin, Crypti Not all are open source. There's certainly others I'm not recalling right now (or that I never head of ) Cheers! Thanks for the info. VanillaCoin seems to be forked from Sifcoin though: // Copyright (c) 2009-2010 Satoshi Nakamoto // Copyright (c) 2009-2013 The Bitcoin developers // Copyright (c) 2013 The Sifcoin developers // Copyright (c) 2013 The Vanillacoin developers // Distributed under the MIT/X11 software license, see the accompanying And ByteCoin from CryptoNote. // Copyright (c) 2012-2014, The CryptoNote developers, The Bytecoin developers // // This file is part of Bytecoin. Crypti is a node.js coin, so it is brand new code, yes. Haven't looked at NXT, Ripple. I think those are a different kind of coins anyways. Thanks again.

All coins other than Bitcoin are forks of some other coin.

> So it is no fork of another coin.
All coins other than Bitcoin are forks of some other coin.
Just look at any file in ASN source:
Some files have this at the top: // Copyright (c) 2012-2013 The ascension developers
Some have this: // Copyright (c) 2009-2012 The Bitcoin developers // Distributed under the MIT/X11 software license, see the accompanying
Some have this: // Copyright (c) 2009-2010 Satoshi Nakamoto // Copyright (c) 2009-2012 The Bitcoin developers
While ASN "About" dialog only has this: "Copyright © 2015 The ascension developers"
Which is obviously missing some info.
It probably would not make sense to fork ASN straight from Bitcoin, as adding POS is not a trivial task. I assume it was taken from one of POW+POS coins. And why I'm asking... Some POW+POS coins have some serious problems and I just want to make sure ASN doesn't.
Thanks

The OP still has old info:

I also think that it is time to post some news or at least specify the date when it will be done. It will be fair to miners and investors.
The launch was great and the idea with rising reward pretty neat, but it does not count anymore now that the coin is POS.
BUY support is pretty low. There is a kind of wall at 140 satoshi. Are you waiting until we get to that point?
Who's on the team, is it just you or some other devs? Any experience with coins? What coin was the wallet forked from? Why is it on bitbucket and not on github like all other coins?
Thanks

Time to introduce the team and post the roadmap? Or at least state when it will be done. Thanks

haha funny it seems GEO has made the qubit algorithm more popular. Unfortunately this coin has nothing to offer.
haha funny it seems some one feels threatened. No I just think its a sign the dev is trying to play off some hype. I wouldn't feel threatened either way. I like qubit but does this coin have anything to offer or is it just one of those pump and dump on to the next coins? Geo was not the first qubit. I am not sure why you feel the need to come here and throw stones. But I am sure everyone can guess. Sorry if I come across negative in any way but no one seems able to answer my question. Does this coin have anything to offer? Dev will post roadmap once POW phase is over. That's when it will be revealed.
