So I finally went through and read the whole thread. I notice a little while ago everyone got all excited that 120Gh were added and that we were at 17mh/btc, but now the total seems to be 82gh and 8.9mh/Btc.
What happened?

I have no doubt pirate will pay, but I need some BTC liquidities at the moment. I have a 2500 BTC account, I'm looking to sell 500 BTC of debt for 300 BTC. So, if you send me 300 BTC, you get 500 BTC of pirate debt + all the interest of the 500 BTC generated from the moment of the deal until pirate pays.
Why does this sound dishonest to me? Because everything sounds dishonest to you. |

While I totally agree BinaryMage, I firmly believe that for things to change, the mods need to start working harder, and actually moderating this place. A stricter stance on everything you listed in the OP would greatly help keep this place more civil. That, along with actually merging multiple threads rather than having 12 on the same subject would go a long way to making this a usable forum again.
Right now it's a pretty horrible place to be, which is NOT a good thing when we're talking the primary site for all things bitcoin. This is where new people to Bitcoin will arrive after 1 google search, and right now I very much doubt they'd stick around.

Because that would be giving trolls what they want -for free-. I don't work for free. EDIT: I misread what your point was. I actually -will- be doing exactly that, but only after there is enough money to be made from loudmouthed suckers who are so sure I don't have it. That doesn't really prove it's your address. You can in theory just pick an address with 10k in it. That's why the post you quoted says to create an address with 0 zero in, then transfer 10K into it |

Seems to me this isn't really even money (in dollars), in that if Pirate pays out, there will be a flood of people selling their proceeds, pushing the price of BTC down. So dust either wins a lot or loses a little?
No one long on BTC thinks that way. Indeed. Everyone seems to think that as soon as people get their Pirate money back (assuming they do), they'll immediately sell. Well, why? The only reason I see for doing that is because you think everyone else is going to sell, which is obviously daft  Anyway, I won't be selling mine if they're returned. I'm long BTC. |
