61  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: First BFL ASIC! on: April 04, 2013, 11:40:17 PM
Any betting house who questions that BFL has NOT shipped to customers is in my blacklist.

The product is not finished. End of story. With judgement like that I can only assume they are corrupt.

Boycott BoB, BFL, and Luke Jr.

I like Luke Jr. though.   I think he is being misled, I do not think he is part of the BFL scheme.

62  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BFL RIP OFF... price up 90%, 50GH/s for 2499$. on: April 04, 2013, 11:26:29 PM
If Asicminer start selling their products at least there will be a viable alternative to Avalon
Is there a thread for this?

Thanks.  I just found it as well: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=99497.msg1740976#msg1740976

I'm only trying to help Smiley.  If it gets picked up by other mainstream media, we don't want to look like unprofessional bunch (not implying anything Smiley).

I like the concept, but it needs over $5k to develop?

67  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: BFL just raised prices significantly - and changed the specs on: April 04, 2013, 04:59:23 PM
This is only the first performance downgrade.  There are more to come.

Avalon's round 3 pricing will look like a bargain soon.

I LOVE how the "MiniRig" is "Out of Stock".   More like so far out of spec it would have to defy physics to hold that much Heat in such a confined space.....

Not to mention that residential power is likely not enough to run it...

It looks like they have given up on minirigs too.

I bet you people waiting for BFL to ship before you order regret that now.

Regret what?  That you missed 20x+ jump in bitcoin price because your coins were tied up with the preorder?  Nah...

Can you do SEPA transfer to an Italian bank?
71  Economy / Auctions / Re: Avalon Batch 1 Unit (on hand available) on: April 02, 2013, 09:37:31 PM
I will cancel this auction as the terms may not be agreeable to many.  I reserve the right to re-list this auction with modified terms.

Thanks everyone for your input regarding this auction!

Please consider this auction closed.  I will lock the thread.

I think the problem is the closing date. If someone wants to spend more than 200btc he wants the machine now. Dont wait 15days more where the machine could mine for the buyer. Just my 2 fiatcents :p
Perhaps.  I think the fact that I am insisting on a local transaction is narrowing the audience a lot as well.

Would a 7 day auction be more reasonable?  I accommodate that if that's what potential buyers want.
How about bidding in BTC vs USD?  I would like to get paid in USD at the end of the day, so it doesn't matter to me either way.

Are you in Europe?
I'm in the greater Seattle area (WA, USA).  Please see OP for details.
Sorry, optician has always recommended I wear glasses  Roll Eyes
I'd say your optician is well qualified for his/her job. Smiley Smiley

Is this a silent auction?  Nobody knows what the other bids are?

Not a silent auction, but haven't had anyone bid yet.  Come on, guys!!!  We can do better than BTC200  Wink Wink

Forgive me for intruding, but has OP bothered to prove he has an ASIC to anyone before they started fawning over it? This is a ripe time for ASIC resell/presell scams.

I hope that's one of the concerns that this being a face-to-face transaction will alleviate.

Why would anyone go to a meeting with a complete stranger carrying bitcoins or anything else without first having sufficient proof of actually holding the item for sale in question?

As it was mentioned, I sold one Avalon unit to another forum user in person.  I said that we will find a safe, public place to meet - not behind some dark alley to do the transaction.
Thanks for looking out for others, MNW.  I will post a pic of the rig in this thread if it helps.

If you shipped I'd have a go, but I totally get your reluctance, not a prob.  Good luck, I'm sure it'll sell for a good amount (and I like the BTC/USD aspect, that'll make it interesting to watch Smiley)
Thanks, simonk83!

I would suggest that your auction finishes earlier. Right now "time is gold" and the sooner you sell the Avalon, the more is it worth
Thanks for pointing that out.  Rather than changing the auction, I would suggest keeping that in mind when making the bid.  If I receive an offer I can't refuse, I may end the auction early.
