61  Economy / Lending / Re: Looking for a large loan. on: September 06, 2012, 04:07:51 AM
Good Luck.  (and by the way, feel free to use the Google Voice number publicly, because it has the same spam protection as gmail)  ..don't be afraid to give it out... Hell  I'm 631-503-6010

If I had BTC I'd loan it to you, you probably have more than me already Tongue

62  Economy / Services / Re: Looking for someone to create/modify software for this forum [3600+ BTC] on: September 06, 2012, 02:07:26 AM
You guys can do all the magic you want with this "Forum software"

But whoever @ Softlayer is maintaining the server that Bitcointalk.org runs on.... needs to be dragged outside and shot.

Why not invest in some real hardware, you're in the right DC at least.

Its all a moot point with the software, you guys hang like 5 times a day with what.... 500-1000 users at any given time...

3600 BTC?  Jesus, for 36BTC I'll blow your mind with performance.

What the hell is happening around here anyway?
63  Economy / Services / Re: [WTS]VPN that skews law enforcement.[14 countries] on: September 06, 2012, 02:05:13 AM
Everyone involved in this thread has no idea about "Bandwidth," (LOL @ Unlimited) "Law Enforcement" (LOL @ Australian Federal Police) and OpenVPN (LOL @ limiting the unlimited bandwidth).

Go to jail?  No.

Server suspended, probably as we speak.

Slap your face for even entertaining this, I can sell you a Bridge over in Brooklyn, its pretty awesome.

...now when the Unlimtied Hard Drives debut.. get me on that list.  I have bitcoins.
64  Economy / Lending / Re: Looking for a large loan. on: September 06, 2012, 01:49:32 AM

Hottweelz-I am about 150 miles from St. Marys, GA.  Why are you asking that?

Its one of many way that people can successfully identify that you are who you are... They'll only trust you for a loan if they know they can contact you.  Wink

Now take that 352 number of yours and cover a google voice number over it... offer the potential loaners to "give you a call"

Make them feel better, someone will loan it to you without you going through the jive of people calling you a scammer.

Dig?

At this point, we drive him out to a little town called "Montauk Point" in his boxers... and tell him to walk home.  Or he can pay 1BTC per mile to get a ride.

I know people.
66  Other / Off-topic / Re: Windows 8 - strictly illegal! ( I lol'ed) on: September 05, 2012, 08:34:08 PM

67  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: CampBX. Dwolla deposit problems? on: September 05, 2012, 08:00:02 PM
I'm in the process of testing CampBX now.  Remember, I'm new and have a steep learning curve.
I have recently verified my accounts in DWolla and initiated a deposit today.  (not sure how many days it will take for them to take my money)

I intend on then using CampBX to take it FROM Dwolla.

Again, I'm totally new to all of this so I'm "learning"

The reason I chose CampBX is that they are in Georgia and I have to backup my neighbors Wink

I'm new to GA (From NYC) and I'm new to Bitcoin.  I hope this works......

Leave him a voicemail saying "See you at the Carnegie Deli" and just hit him NY Style...

That part of town hasn't seem any action in a few weeks.
69  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Romney's tax returns - first Bitcoin extortion? on: September 05, 2012, 07:20:23 PM
I call BS.

It's way too easy to catch this guy.  He thinks the Bitcoin anonymity will protect him/them.  BUT its all the other loopholes of the Technology world that will bust him.

You heard it here first.

Can you confirm how many miles you are from Saint Marys, GA?  (I already know the answer).

71  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: What happens to Bitcoins that are sent to a non-existent address? on: September 05, 2012, 03:42:31 PM
Well, this is how I learn,  Perfect.

Even if I misunderstood the OP.
72  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: What happens to Bitcoins that are sent to a non-existent address? on: September 05, 2012, 03:04:02 PM
Can I attempt to "dumb this down?"

I think the OP was asking, what if, offline I create a wallet address with 1BbwCCkwWDVJXLojxYpZrtPp8LSSRghisH by just typing it out... better yet, my five year old just bangs on the keys of the computer and she created my new address.  Now I physically hand someone a piece of paper with 1BbwCCkwWDVJXLojxYpZrtPp8LSSRghisH written on it for a fellow bitcoin'er and they send money to that aforementioned address.

For the first time ever, I bring my wallet online and find out that this mysterious wallet address belonged to Jane SMith for the past year, but never knew.

Did Jain Smith just receive that money?  Is my wallet "Invalid" but "Online with the P2P network?"
73  Other / Beginners & Help / Captcha is a waste of time (Sad truth) on: September 05, 2012, 03:47:53 AM
Notices to EVERYONE who owns a website...

Not for nothing folks, but here's some bad news.  Captcha stops... NO ONE.

Actually thats a lie.

Captcha stops HUMANS...  these things are impossible to read... especially in the wonderful world of SMF Land.

Either use reCaptcha, with their API, or don't bother at all.

and yes... don't believe the hype.. BOTS can decipher captcha,  its just a waste of time and aggrevating for HUMAN users.

Maybe it was this post that got him in... which is funnier.  Is funnier a word?
75  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Hi, I'm a newb :) on: September 04, 2012, 11:41:18 PM
Argh, I can't even add a link in my signature?  It's my real business, not bitcoin related LOL
76  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Hi, I'm a newb :) on: September 04, 2012, 10:38:06 PM
Actually I think I'm still stuck in here too... eh, its like my own Private Idaho.

I'm testing selling small cheap items on bitmit.net  ...so far in one day it has 23 views, someone who needs a Verizon Wireless Card may want it... plus I'm selling it for LESS than its value.

It might be a route to take if you want to learn transactions and establish a reputation... at least thats what I'm going for.

I'd rather experiment with $30 than $1000 ..but you should look into it.

79  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Life Expectancy Of Sites on: September 03, 2012, 11:40:02 PM
I saw bitcoin.it and admit I probably didn't look into it that much.

I just now, in between reading threads here, posted a $30 Verizon Prepaid Wireless Card on Bitmit.

I figure I have to start creating a reputation and receiving Bitcoins.  (I get VZW Prepaid cards as well as other mobile providers for free all the time).

If it works I'll sell other cards at like 70 cents for the dollar each as well.  Its all in learning.

Right, I think I should take some time out to learn the exchange side of this endeavor... If I can decide that FIX Protocol would benefit everyone as far as speed and security, then I'll become a Geek again! Smiley

All we really did on Wall St was take Tangible Currency and make it Virtual Currency if you think about it.

SO let's do the opposite?
