Does it seem like the time between blocks is getting longer? On the network in general?

I know look at the average.  I am more curious about a shorter term look.  21 days maybe?

according to the stats on the header of kano.is it shows 23 min between blocks

One of these days I will be finding a Bitcoin.

no worries im in the same boat. i check the best shares once a week. and best ive seen is 10 billion. i always toss the idea around to have one of the miners on solo pool but the lack of good shares keeps all my miners pointed to kano.is. and yes i know its luck but i seem to be on the bad side of luck.

Check all your power connections.  Screenshot would be the best though.

also what psu are you using? 1 for the whole machine (1600w evga/bitmain psu) or are you using 2 different psu (2 1300w evga)?

64  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: New Miner - S7 / Antpool Configuration Question on: April 18, 2016, 01:07:24 PM
Thanks for this thread - trying to set up my s7 but I don't see the options for load balancing that I saw on my s3's - so the s7 only can mine one pool at a time?  (this was called the "failover setting on the s3's)  Is there any way to split the hashing power between two pools?  I don't want to pool-hop if I can help it.

Thanks,
Patricia

No. the S7 is 1 pool at a time miner. You can set failover pools so if the primary is down it will jump to your next pool. but there is no way to send 2.5 Th to pool 1 and 2 TH to pool 2.
if you want to mine on 2 different pools (at the same time/or same miner) you either need to hop (very bad) or buy a second miner.

pool setup list
IE:

1) kano.is

2) solo.ckpool

3) nicehash

DAMN!!  The cooling takes up more space than the miners.

LOL ya. and all that only cuts the heat a little. it usually averages 80-100 on the hot side.

in the process of building a box to clean all that up. will put the miners vertical use the large drum fan on the bottom shelf pointing upward. Will have a slopped top and an 8in exhaust fan. the plan is to tie into the line that can blow the heat outside the house. will end up using 6inch tubing to get it outside. hopefully that will help cut costs as the ac pretty much runs non stop right now, have it set on 67-68.

ps. why would i go else where when i have the convenience of mining here selling here and getting paid here all in one place (wish i could get payed to my paypal account instead of bank but yeah), unless your going to say i'll get more rewards elsewhere lol.

why would you go anywhere else? idk cus bitmain and antpool are bad for btc. unless your actually located in china there is no reason to use a chinese pool.

and yes you would get paid more else where. (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1338693.0)

Kano -

I have seen before, where you have acted on suggestions on small changes to the website, and so I would like to suggest a small edit.

Could you link the blocks page, where it shows  confirms +XX into the "Mining Rewards" page, so that the rewards that have not yet been fully confirmed are maybe a different row colouring, I think most people will probably do like myself and click into the rewards page, and then back and forth into the blocks page, while trying to figure which rewards are not yet fully confirmed

I understand that the rewards and blocks page don't always match the payments actually sent, as I know you do that manually, but I think if the top few rows of the "mining rewards" page reflected not confirmed / confirmed, then it would be a helpful change.

Hope this hasn't been suggested and spoken about before...

Steve

PS. thanks for the comp btc, I reinvested it, and luck was with me as I had 100TH rented for most of the last 5 days which I then rolled over and over and so gained a few extra bits from it.

That would be helpful...it could be as simple as a duplication of the Status column from the Blocks page.  I know space is tight so you could just use the number (+4, +35, etc) and the "M" when the block matures.

i dont find this much of an issue. hit the blocks page find the last matured block. note last 3 numbers. hit rewards page find those numbers anything above is not matured. I only check it once a day at 8pm eastern as thats end of day for the pool. no need to check it before or any more frequently.

so how does one go about getting a 0 tx fee send back or confirmed. somehow managed to send some rental funds without a tx fee. was prepping some funds for a high cdf push and now they are stuck at 0 confirms.

rentals are cheap today boys. get them while you can.

Yes it is from that page I noticed the color.

But I don't understand what it means to have a bad luck in solving a block ... Does it means the miner is slower than expected or something like that ?
(newbie question)
I was thinking that a S3 solving a block today was a lucky thing.

an s3 solving a block is rare but thats why its called luck.

trying to solve a block is a race. the first pool to guess the # right wins. trying to solve these numbers is a brute force attack basically. lots of trial and error.

edit: look up a guy called andreas antonopoulos on the utube. he does some good videos that explain bitcoin really well.

Hi guys,
I have an S3 that solved a block at the yesterday party.
The luck color is dark red at the blocks page in kano's statistics.
Could someone explain me what does it mean ?

look at the block page. it shows what the colors men.

green = good luck, better then average

black = average. normal luck

red = bad luck, block took longer then expected to solve.

Cool   13 blocks in ~25 HR and 25 MIN = one tiered kano when the payments start going out....  Grin

I dont think he will mind. Its a good problem to have. Time to implement the auto pay.

Wow. That is awsome. Grats to us. Can we hit 10 and have a double digit day.

Kano will be shocked when he wakes up.
77  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Thoughts on Cost of Mining Farm now, with 40+ PH/s. on: April 13, 2016, 06:43:05 PM
Either my post wasn't clear or ppl aren't reading it properly.
The $400k refers to monthly costs of an operation that mines 150 x 25 BTC in that period i.e. ~$1.5m @ $420, or a net profit of >$1m per month.
Re: halving, yes I can divide by two too.

ok so 400k in operating costs. and they make 1M per month. meaning they wont sell for less than that most likely double. so you are looking at a 2M expense. Again the same logic applies buy 2M worth of bitcoin and sit on it. Depending on how active you want to be for 2M worth of coin you could buy it and flip it daily and make a nice size profit.

more then likely the mine wont sell/be bought because they themselves know how much they are making and that 1M a month they are making now they could wait till 1/2ing and sell and it make more money than what you were offering.
78  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: eBay and Alibaba sellers on: April 13, 2016, 06:36:42 PM
neither will accept bitcoin unless they can figure out a way to get theirs. Meaning if you buy something what is to stop you from contacting the seller directly and buying the item without actually using the ebay sale. Ebay wont get their % of the sale and paypal wont take their %.

hell i actually did this recently. bought something from a vendor, i liked the product and wanted to get a few more. we came to a price to be paid by BTC and i sent him the btc and he sent me the product. Not only was i able to buy with btc but i was able to buy it cheaper because the seller wasnt going to lose 6-10% in fees.

i always add in the line at the bottom of my posts that i accept btc. havent had them taken down yet. seen a few others do it as well that they list btc as a payment acceptance type.

we need more days like today and less like yesterday.

The good thing is it all evens out over the 100 bock span  Grin

True and 122% aint nothing to complain about. but who wouldn't love to constantly hit double digit block count with our current size.
