61  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Israil Madrimov vs Terrence Crawford on: June 07, 2024, 12:31:00 PM
Odds for this fight though hasn't move a bit, Madrimov is still a huge underdog at 5:1. I think the odds is about right, although he had a good record, but I don't see him getting a upset here against Crawford. And we might see Terence becoming a world champion again, this time at 154 lbs.

I share the same sentiment. Crawford is just too flashy and dominant, and I can only see him controlling the fight. If Terence becomes a champion in this division, he might aim to unify the titles again. Hopefully, if Spence also becomes a champion, they can have a rematch here. I'm sure promoters would be eager to stage another fight between them, as they already have a rivalry that can easily attract fans. We might even call it "unfinished business," even though Crawford clearly dominated Spence in their previous bout. But in a new division, we might see a different result.

Possible, that could be his next aim, and make another record if he can unify at 154 lbs as he had done it at 140 lbs and 147 lbs. So in this era, he could be one of the best fighter that we have seen, he has cemented his legacy with that big win against Spence.

But if he really want to put all arguments are rest, yeah, unifying again will be great for him. It could be very challenging though as there are a lot of good boxers in this division with his arch nemesis, Errol Spence, and then Tim Tzsyu and Fundora.

He already beat Spence, so he has a higher chance of beating him again.

The thing is, if Spence beats Fundora, that would be like beating Tszyu as well. Among the champions, Spence would then be ranked number one. For now, we just need to see if Spence can become a champion again, so they can prepare for a possible rematch in a unification match. This would still be a big fight, as it's a championship fight like the last time they met.
62  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What about low odds in sports betting? on: June 07, 2024, 11:27:28 AM
It does not mean that if it works for a certain person, it will also work for you. There's more to it than just spotting low odds and taking them. You need to be familiar with the game or league you are gambling on so you'll not end up making mistakes like thinking you have the value, but in fact, it doesn't. Would you believe that sometimes bookmakers overvalue or undervalue certain odds? If so, then you need to be aware of what they are doing so you can choose the odds that you believe are the real ones.

Think of it this way: if you are just betting on low odds, let's say 1.30, your three consecutive wins, which would result in 0.90, could easily be lost by just one mistake.
63  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can someone take gambling as a source of income to he/she life? on: June 07, 2024, 08:46:32 AM
If you can earn consistently through gambling, you can take gambling as a source of income.
You need to run a casino in order to achieve that, be the banker rather than the gambler.
However, there are people who are smart in gambling, like they know how to use their skills and become profitable in gambling that are based on skills, like sports betting for instance.

If you can't earn consistently or mostly loss through gambling, you can't take gambling as a source of income.

It would be stupid if someone can earn consistently through gambling, but still asking whether gambling can be as a source of income and listen to most people who can't earn from gambling...

Sometimes we are delusional, we tend to believe that gambling is what we called "easy money", despite the fact that we haven't proven anything yet. people say it's a recipe for disaster, well, I can't argue with that.
64  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: June 07, 2024, 07:11:09 AM
The line for Game 2 is up. Those who believe that SMB will bounce back to even the series can get them at -5.5 now. They had a good lead in Game 1 with 7 points, so I think a great strategy is to bet on them to cover the spread in the first half. If they don't cover in the first half, you can double down in the second half. There's no way SMB will go down 0-2 against the Meralco Bolts.

As for the total scoring, if SMB is dictating the game, it should easily go over. So, my prediction for Game 2 is to bet on the team total over for SMB and the combined total over for both teams.
There's a little movement on the point spread, as you posted, it was -5.5 but now it's already -7.5 for a 1.90 odds. Still over 4 hours before game 2, I'm gonna observe this, if the spread keeps rising, I'm gonna hammer the SMB here to win and cover. As to the total, it's the same as in game 2 at 190.5, if SMB gonna win, this should go over 190.5, but on the other hand, it's also possible that it will be a scoring game if SMB will fully dominate the Meralco Bolts.

So the -5.5 is already a steal now as SMB is looking to even the series. They scored only 86 points, that was their lowest this season IMO, and I think it will not happen again tonight. SMB only attempted 72 which is quite low compared to their previous games.

If we look back to their previous games when they swept the ROS, here are the statistics.

game 1  91 attempts
game 2  93 attempts
game 3  85 attempts
game 4 86 attempts

I am seeing an over for SMB team total here, it's currently over 97.5.

And PBA is now live in youtube. - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QyXuRjiG1gE
65  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Exposure to bitcoin at young age on: June 06, 2024, 09:59:37 PM
I have also nothing against teaching children about cryptocurrency and everything about it, but I am against parents willing to fulfil their unfulfilled dreams through children. Majority want to introduce cryptocurrency to kids, because they wish their kids to turn into early investors and hope that kids will become rich. Imho we should not program kids that money is everything in this world and their lifegoal is to get rich. Parents must teach kids to be kind and happiness.
If you’re not into greed and wealth, you will definitely teach your children to be kind and be happy in simple life instead. However, I cannot also blame these parents why they are in a hurry to train their kids to invest, maybe because they don’t want them to experience the same poverty that they have been living since birth. So as much as possible, they want to give their kids the best life they can have, even if it means putting a pressure to their kids to learn investing even at an immature minds. I understand this kind of parents but for me, it’s just that their kind of mindset won’t work for young kids.
66  Economy / Economics / Re: Things to avoid when you earn a lot or become rich on: June 06, 2024, 09:26:50 PM
The most difficult thing is when you can earn more money but still live like when you were still earning little, that's why people who earn a lot will start to change their lives because they want more, especially if their life cycle also changes so that they are now friends with other people. -people with the same economic level end up spending the same as what they earn, sometimes even more, for example by going into debt because they think their income will be sufficient to pay their debts even though they are starting to have difficulty paying. If you earn more then start investing and investing is not to make you rich so you can go on a spree but to make your life calmer.
People’s mindset when they start to earn big, they will also tend to level up their way of living. I believe a lot of us have seen or experienced it. That’s why instead of seeing ourselves in consistent progress, we end up experiencing pullbacks because of the wrong perspective we have.

Changes are needed and are definitely inevitable, but it should be on the right lead wherein we will continue to grow more and progress, and not on in every progress we gained, we also increase our expenses and debt that will eventually pull us back not to easily reach our target.

70  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will Bitcoin Always Be in an Uptrend? on: June 05, 2024, 10:06:41 PM
To answer the question in the OP "Will Bitcoin Always Be in an Uptrend?":
It's not guaranteed in any way.

But there's high probability it will. There's no guarantees you will wake up tomorrow, or that there will not be a world war, but we operate on probability.
Since fiat money is constantly being printed and undergoes high inflation, while bitcoin's inflation is already low and will continue to drop, we can safely assume that bitcoin will go up in price against fiat money, so it will go up forever.

Quote
But the demand is not guaranteed and could go down for various reasons, i.e. people get bored and will move to other types of investments,

People don't go into other investments because they're bored with the current ones. If the investment keeps being profitable you need to find something more profitable to move. Boredom has nothing to it.
Bitcoin has clearly its own flaws in the market, simply because of its volatile nature. One who cannot sustain its volatility that makes price unpredictable, might leave bitcoin and resort into other investments. But one thing I’ve noticed, those who leave and fail on their supposed to be profitable investment are finding its way back to invest again in bitcoin, something that bitcoin makes it more unique that people keep coming back to invest in it despite of its flaws and imperfections.

72  Economy / Economics / Re: Labor is really the birth of happiness? on: June 05, 2024, 08:59:06 PM
I know it's crazy seeing someone bust their ass day in and day out but staying still. I've been there. However, life isn't fair or linear. Success isn't only about money or business status. Finding meaning and purpose in your work. The goal is to look in the mirror and say, "Damn, I did good."

Consider that Southeast Asian rickshaw driver. He hustles to support his family and takes pleasure in his work. He may not be rich, but he's helping his neighborhood. That's success, man. What about the construction worker creating a school for poor kids? He may not make six figures, but he's changing the world. Seriously badass

Success is subjective. Find out what motivates you to get up in the morning. It's about living a proud life despite society's opinions. If you're stuck, realize that it's not about money or title. Finding your mission and living your truth is key. That's true success
Well, I have to agree with this. Success is not all about money and your status in the society, but rather its all about making yourself happy and satisfied despite of the kind of job you have. Life may not offer equal opportunities with those other people living in comfort and luxury, but as long as you did your best and you make a lot of people satisfied with your job performance, I think that way more important than putting yourself at a pressure of having a high paying job.
73  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is bitcoin gradually turning away from its purpose? on: June 05, 2024, 03:23:25 PM
Like the title explained it all when sighting towards the speculation or trade discussion section I mostly found out that lots of people are gradually turn away the purpose of bitcoin to mainly investment purposes and I mean to asked, was bitcoin created for investment purpose or it's for peer to peer to alternate fiat?

I would love to see different versions of input.
That's a relevant concern these days. There are some regions where Bitcoin payments are conducted fairly often, so Bitcoin does in a way remain an alternative to fiat. Then there is also the usage of Bitcoin for gambling, where Bitcoin is a good alternative to fiat and successfully functions as such. But it's true that more and more people are talking about Bitcoin as something to hodl, as an investment asset. Bitcoin is ultimately what we make of it, and how we collectively use it. It can be both a form of money and an investment opportunity. These two are not mutually exclusive.
Reality is people use it where they find it convenient to use. You can’t expect for someone to use it like fiat when the country itself is not accepting bitcoin as a form of currency, or use it as an investment when you are not even knowledgeable how bitcoin works as an investment. So it always depends on the user’s capability to utilize bitcoin, but most likely bitcoin these days is more utilized as an investment. And I have no issues with that bitcoin as an investment as it continues to appreciate its value unlike fiat where its value is seen to depreciate more.
74  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: June 05, 2024, 01:03:13 PM
SMB was leading by 7 points after the first half, but Meralco made their run starting in the 3rd quarter, so the lead of SMB is now down to just 1 point. I thought this game would not be exciting, but it looks like Meralco has made it very competitive. Now, it could be a 50/50 game, and those gamblers who took the moneyline for Meralco, especially at the half, are lucky.

As of this writing, SMB is still scoreless in the 3rd, and it was a 9-0 run by Meralco that resulted for SMB to call a timeout.

Spread now is SMB -1.5 only, that's very enticing, right?
75  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How active can a newbie be daily? on: June 04, 2024, 09:59:05 PM
My question is what does it mean to be active on the forum,
How many quality Posts can someone make daily before he or she can be considered active on this forum, sorry I ask a lot of questions so u can learn too.
You can be always online on the forum but that doesn’t mean you should post always, just always spend time on the forum reading. What it means to be active is just for you to make quality posts whenever you have any contribution to make. Some people might think making so many posts daily on the forum is the definition of being active, but making so many rubbish posts daily doesn’t make you active, because your posts are of no use.

You might be making just few posts daily, but make sure the post is really worth it. I won’t tell you the amount of posts you should make in a day to make you active, we are different from each other, and sometimes you might not have much contribution to make to the posts that are available, so the amount of posts you should make depends on you, but make sure those posts are really worth it.

Posting does not guarantee being active in the forum, but it’s how you consistently grow your learning and make you a good bitcoin investor in the long run. However, if you keep on posting because you have relevant information to share, well that will be appreciated by the forum members. But if you keep on posting in order to stay active, that is a wrong mindset.

Know your main purpose why you are here, and that is to become well educated about bitcoin. And you can only do that if you take most of your time reading and comprehending on what you read, and update the old information you have. It’s already your choice if you also post in the forum, but if you are a signature campaign member, then posting highly quality posts is a must.
76  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What can we do to make Bitcoin hit $100k on: June 04, 2024, 09:18:39 PM
All you have to do is to be patient. A time will come when bitcoin will not fall lower than $100000. Do not expect bitcoin to get to $100000 just very fast. It can take some time before that would happen.
Exactly. There’s no other way but to be more patient and focus on positivity because in the long run, seeing bitcoin hits $100k or above will be highly possible. Regardless of how volatile bitcoin is, still it never fail us in seeing slight but consistent progress along the way. So quitting because we are losing at some point is never the best option, but continue hodling while bitcoin is providing us consistent opportunities to make it big in the end, and just stick to what we have set goals from the very start.
77  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to get your Dad (or Mom) to buy Bitcoin? on: June 04, 2024, 08:52:33 PM
That was a super long one. Time the easiest way to get my mom and dad to buy Bitcoin is by simply asking them to send me money for something and then use the money to buy Bitcoin and yet tell them that’s what I did. It will save you many stress of explanation. Most of them wouldn’t have interest because they are stuck know it used to be.
LOL, that's a great way. Well, the best way is also to ask them for money to invest, and we use it to invest in bitcoin. Even if you use the DCA method, it doesn't matter. When you have enough bitcoins from your parents' investments, you can buy them a house. However, not all parents are suitable and understand the Bitcoin system. The best way is for them to give us money and support for it.
If you can invest into bitcoin without dragging your parents’ funds into it, then that would be a lot better. As much as we want them to learn and invest into bitcoin, but I don’t think that’s a good idea most especially if your parents are both senior citizens, as they can be highly emotional whenever they’ll see their investment is not doing good. Just invest with your own hard-earned funds, not your parents’ funds, as you will never guarantee winning in such a volatile investment most especially if you are here to make quick profits.
78  Economy / Economics / Re: Is it possible to pitch a Bitcoin investment idea and gain backings? on: June 04, 2024, 02:44:46 PM
Is it possible for a potential investor (without funds but with a good idea and a great proposal for investors), to pitch a Bitcoin investment idea to a group of friends and family and companies, with projections of good profit but with their invested funds, to gain backings?

I don't think it is a bad idea to present Bitcoin to friends and family because it is a good investment. Also, some companies like Microstrategy are investing in Bitcoin and making good returns. However, it is important to give them a comprehensive analysis of how the Bitcoin investment system works. They should know the risk involved in investing, and emphasis should also be placed on long-term hodling rather than making quick returns. Let me also add that the choice or decision to invest should be taken by the prospective investors. Never force or persuade people to buy Bitcoin to avoid the blame game. You have to encourage them to do their research before deciding to invest.
Yes, it’s never wrong to pitch bitcoin investment idea to the people who seem interested on it, as acquiring knowledge is the first requirement so that they can tell if they really like to pursue investing on bitcoin or will certainly miss the opportunity to invest. Just make sure that your goal is just to explain to them about your bitcoin investment idea and not to forcefully convince them to risk their funds into bitcoin as that could mean making you held responsible if they obtain losses in the end. You can share them the benefits of bitcoin but let them have the final say on it.

80  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: June 01, 2024, 12:35:20 PM

Kleber, Powell, Lively, and Gafford... they are a key to dominate the Celtics in the paint this series.

They certainly are a problem especially the 2 big men who have earn big minutes during the WCF. I just watch a video about how fans of Celtics really hate Kyrie, I think this is going to be fun as in game 1 it will be in TD Garden where the fans will certainly come to support the home team. As to the betting odds now, Celtics are heavily favored, but I like the Dallas as they went through a tougher challenge compared to the Celitcs.

@OP maybe it's time to change the poll now.

I think the Celtics matchup pretty well against the Mavericks. They’re also a little more familiar with Kyrie’s game than most. I think this series will come down to if Luka can keep performing magic or not. I’m leaning towards Boston though.

I agree and think it would be nice to see a poll on who will win the Finals.

I don't see Luka getting limited in the NBA Finals, if he was able to carry his team before and beat the Suns to advance in the WCF, just unfortunate they loss to the Warriors but Luka still are very productive in that game.

in the 5 games they played, you can see an impressive stats of Luka.
https://www.basketball-reference.com/playoffs/2022-nba-western-conference-finals-mavericks-vs-warriors.html
https://www.statmuse.com/nba/ask/luka-playoff-stats-vs-warriors

game 1 20 PTS - game 2 42 PTS- game 3 40 PTS - game 4 30 PTS - game 5 28 PTS

That was the time when the Warriors beat the Celtics in the NBA finals, and you see, it was Luka who had carried his team, but now he has Irving and some effective role players, honestly, I haven't seen Dallas as good as they are now.

And there's another great things for Jason Kidd, if Dallas win, he'll be a champion as a coach too, not just a player.
