You're a bigger fool for saying it does nothing but good. I've been smoking weed almost 10 years now & I've seen plenty of people fuck up their lives by smoking weed. It can do a lot of good and a lot of bad depending on whether you are using or abusing it.

Smoke daily, is that abuse?

Interesting, kaku is a brilliant man and I believe what he is saying. However growth never really stops. It may be the end of exponential growth of "classical computers" but their are other gateways such as quantum computing. Maybe in 20-30 years quantum computers will be made available for everyone and who knows what new advances in computing will be discovered.

I want to buy a ticket to space with BTC !

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4fS1FxBq64A

Hey, not so long from now SpaceX will be selling tickets to mars for 500,000. And i bet by 2023 everyplace will take Bitcoins, who knows maybe we will begin sending Bitcoins to mars?
Whats a safe number of confirmations to a transaction to mars?

It depends of what you get in exchange  Roll Eyes but usually 6 confirms, same as on Earth.
I wonder if the time it takes information to get to mars would open up the possibility of spending coins both on earth and on mars at the same time and each having their own 6 confirmations before half of them are orphaned

Communication between Mars and Earth can take anywhere between 4-20 minutes, depending on the orbit of Earth and Mars. It would pose no problem for Bitcoin Smiley

They just scaried to do this
lmao,

You obviously do not understand why Bitcoin is popular in the first place. People use Bitcoin for the anonymity of it, I doubt anyone who understands Bitcoin would truly want to destroy that.

That guys a idiot. How can he think the computer revolution is coming to a close when technology is growing at an exponential rate?

Kind of off topic, but is your profile picture 'cosmo the god'?

72  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Quantum computers and Bitcoin on: December 26, 2012, 10:01:04 PM
I was just reading the news this morning and came across an article talking about the recent leaps in quantum computing.

I then started thinking of Bitcoin and the potential issues it could have with the program.

Since quantum computers go at an incredible fast speed I imagine they can double spend, making Bitcoin useless. I know very little about the technicalities of Bitcoin, and I hope im wrong, but will Quantum computing destroy Bitcoin?

Im sure hes sitting on a few thousand bitcoins right now
74  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: STFU. Stop telling newcomers about mining. DON'T. on: December 24, 2012, 10:46:14 PM
Mining is necessary for Bitcoin security and transactions, but it does not help the Bitcoin economy much as we are flooded with bitcoin miners. Buying BTC puts money into the system, increasing the value.
75  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: STFU. Stop telling newcomers about mining. DON'T. on: December 24, 2012, 06:55:50 PM
I agree mining should be kept away from the newbies ears, not only is it bad return it doesnt help the Bitcoin economy.
