61  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: Macbook Pro 15" Retina 500GB SSD, 16GB Ram 2.6Ghz i7 for sale on: September 10, 2014, 09:29:03 PM
Ebay prices are around 1,200-1400 for similar specs

Can you match eBays price?

this is not true, maybe it is but then you get a brick in the box for $1400

Indeed "justBTCme" is incorrect.
This laptop is NOT on ebay for that price.  I checked.
This model A1398 does have a listing
"Apple MacBook Pro 15" Retina 2.7GHz 16GB, 512GB SS - Model A1398 EMC2673

    $1,475.00
    4 bids

    1d 2h left "

But that has OVER a full day on it.
People bid highest in the last ten minutes.
That listing is not even finished.

Buy-it-now
or
Concluded auction listings for EXACTLY the same mac are the only matches acceptable.
Just like price match at an electronics store, you have to keep it real.

Thank you der_troll

Look at that $2500 to $2700 estimated retail value as of today!
I might have to ebay this at a loss of paypal fees if this valuation is correct!

Can you match eBays price?

2.3Ghz is Similar to 2.6, and the 2011 model looks the same as the 2013.  They are not the same.
Auctions currently at $1400 with days remaining do not equal a $1400 valuation.
This is $2700 new.
Do you really think a $2700 laptop with an estimated current value of $2600 will sell for $1400 on ebay?

Can you show me a link for a MacBook Pro Model 11.3 "Macbookpro11,3" on ebay for those prices?
I doubt you have found the EXACT same model.  Similar specs are not equal specs.
Please verify the tech specs.

If for some reason you found such a price,
and it isn't you listing it low to trick me,
and there are many macbooks of this exact type and model for a great price,
then I will accept that reality and match that price PLUS shipping.
Fry's electronics does price match, but not for ebay and they do include shipping.

If the mac on ebay is broken, damaged, etc, of course that won't be acceptable.

Hit me with what you find!

Selling my nearly new MacBook Pro 15" with Retina display, 500GB SSD, 16GB ram, 2.6Ghz i7

It is this one:  http://www.everymac.com/systems/apple/macbook_pro/specs/macbook-pro-core-i7-2.6-15-dual-graphics-late-2013-retina-display-specs.html

Craigslist is full of time wasting lowballers and Nigerian scammers.
eBay owns paypal and has fees.

I want to see if I can use Bitcoin for once in my life to the advantage of AVOIDING paypal and fees!

Escrow accepted!
Shipping in Original box OR with bigger box and more padding!
Charger, Apple logo stickers (unpeeled), papers etc included.

You pick the escrow!
Or local pickup!
Or whatever is safe and reasonable!

At the moment BTC is 481.81 USD = 1BTC
This is a 2700 laptop from Apple new, Plus 9.5% sales tax.
so make reasonable offers considering that the box was opened.
The box is not worth $1400, so don't offer $1300 for the laptop.
It has no scratches.

2000 USD = 4.51 BTC
2700 USD = 5.57 BTC
I understand offers will therefore be LESS than 5.57 BTC
Lets calculate shipping too.
You pay escrow fee.  (Most are 2% or less.  0% escrow sites are not trusted by me.)
Plus I have no idea where to cash my bitcoins now that mtgox stole everyones money and ran.

Offers?
BTC Exchange to cash sites?
66  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Some major flaws about Bitcoin raised in this video clip- can anyone explain? on: September 01, 2014, 09:46:38 PM
Daniel Larimer is a nobody.
He does not know what he is talking about.
Big "conglomerates" doing the bitcoin mining does NOT effect the security of the block chain.
Lets pretend only ONE person in the world is mining bitcoins.
Big deal.
Who cares?
There is nothing that one person can do to hurt bitcoin.
Everyone else using bitcoin has the block chain.
Easily over 1000 people have the block chain downloaded.  No I didn't bother to look that up, it is a safe guess.
This one remaining miner cannot change the record, or the records of future transactions.

Perhaps I am missing something, but why does anyone care if everyone STOPS mining bitcoin?
The Bitcoin QT software will still behave as a wallet and peer to peer transaction data will still be shared among everyone elses wallet, correct?

Or are miners acting as a control node, in addition to mining?
67  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 10 Reason Why Bitcoin is better than Paypal on: September 01, 2014, 09:39:35 PM
Words cannot express how much better Bitcoin is than paypal.
I must refrain from my best expletive language on this topic.
Lets just say Paypal is a greedy pig.
We cannot have a greedy pig as a host for a currency transfer system.
68  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: White label Bitcoin exchanges on: September 01, 2014, 05:29:40 AM
I would also like to know what "white label" means and who "officially" determines such a qualification?
"White label" means that one party provides the software and server-side processing, while another provides the financing, marketing, and branding, takes all the risks and assumes all the liabilities.

That sounds like a multiplied security threat with more people involved who have conflicting interests and goals.
Why does this setup have a name that sounds safe and secure?
Glad I asked, thank you.
69  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Escrow list on: August 30, 2014, 10:35:24 PM

I created BTCRaven.com  a 1.8% escrow backed by a $5000 guarantee, based in Bellevue Washington, United States.

Why would anyone build an escrow website, API and all, for free?  Suspicious much?
How secure is a service that is holding your BTC free of charge for charity reasons?

My motivations are not for profiting much via the 1.8% fee collected,
but rather for the web traffic and advertising space I plan to sell within my website,
along with the traffic and advertising space of my customers using the BTC API for accepting BTC payments via my service.
(Those that opt to use advertising rather than select a fee)
Users that accept a fee will not be required to use the advertising code.

71  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: BTCRaven.com give it the twice over treatment! on: August 29, 2014, 05:23:53 PM
Why provide what PP offers, when we as a community hate PP Sad
Good point!
I failed to explain that unlike PP, I wouldn't suck, and that I intended to mean the part about a shopping cart API for web developers.  Also in that it works like an account.
Whatever is wrong with PP I will be sure to hear about it and NOT make the same mistakes.
I plan to do many things that have already been done, but do them better where others have missed the mark.
72  Bitcoin / Project Development / BTCRaven.com give it the twice over treatment! on: August 27, 2014, 09:41:27 PM
Hello Fellow BTC users!

I have created BTCRaven.com as an escrow website in the hopes to provide a method for safe escrow, wallet, advertising, and eventually simple website api tools for all to copy what paypal offers.

All of these functions exist elsewhere, but I want to provide them all in one place and add other services all in one place.

So I am opening this thread hoping that anyone can find problems, ideas, or suggestions that I should know.
This is an open invitation to attempt to hack my website!
If you can, I would like to hear what you did and how to prevent that from ever happening again.
PM only please.
I do not support people who inform the random public how to attack a website.

Any other topics and suggestions, complaints, ideas, input can be public.
Thank you!
 Cheesy

PS:  Yes BTCRaven.com is online and fully functional, but not yet publicly offered as a service.
73  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Need Help, how to control bitcoin daemon remotely on: August 27, 2014, 09:19:34 PM
What do you intend to do?
Can't you just make your own website server with the bitcoin API?
Or do you need that made for you?
74  Economy / Services / Re: 3D printing service! (And CNC!) on: July 06, 2014, 07:57:53 PM
What program do you use for 3D modeling?
I use Maya.  It can read and write STL files directly after you activate a plugin.
75  Economy / Services / Re: Need craigslist poster(s) on: July 06, 2014, 07:52:09 PM
I could use some CL poster people too.
I will match the OP price, but I require links to your posts each day.
I will pay daily too.
PM me please.

78  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: BEWARE, MTGOX stole $724.52, 60 days and no bank wire yet! on: January 21, 2014, 07:46:24 PM
Why is MTgox commanding transaction fees for a service that they do not do?
It does not take 60 days to do a bank wire.
How did they get behind in the first place?
Greed!  They just wanted to KEEP the BTC, DUH!
I have no sympathy anymore.

Woah, I've never used MtGox in my life. But at least fit a rant in one post on them, please?

How exactly is this a scam, please post proof that they're 'scamming people' and they're 'greedy'. Please explain to me more: Did MTGox command you to use their services?

Sorry that my distrust and hate for MTgox has spanned over more than one post.

Scammers do not, and can not "Command" victims to use their services.

My proof that MTgox is a scam is that they have not paid me.
I ~can~ prove that they owe me money.
But you can plainly see on this forum, that other people have not been able to withdraw money.
Even on this thread, Rawted said that he is owed $20k.  While that is clearly a rounded number, it is so easy to find an MTgox victim on this forum that I do not feel any evidence showing they owe just me money is required.  Me and my little $724.52

Just be happy that you will not fall victim to the black hole of MTgox, the land where your bitcoins can check in, but they can never check out.

$20k+ since June here. Get in line bud.

Did they offer to send you the money "Manually" for a 7% fee?
If so, why not take it?
93% is more than 0% of $20k (USD?)
