guys...

For now this is the ONLY transactions I will review. People will have until 17th June to claim the transactions above - if you cannot prove with a signed message you own the address/transaction then we will review other avenues.

For now SIGNED/VERIFIED transactions will be paid out from the above addresses only. After 17th June I will review the additional claims, so far that is TheOrri who has proven his transactions.

For LocalBitcoins.com/MTGox Wallet transactions I suggest you ask JohnK [please CC myself in] to review your login - this can be any method John prefers, however, a screenshot will NOT be accepted. Sorry but anyone can doctor a screenshot.

Please appreciate returning the money to RIGHTFULLY scammed people is all I want to do. I don't have enough to give every single person claiming so I need to work with what information we have gathered above.

I see Kruanic returned to post some information. Kruanic I am sorry you so it fit to scam multiple people. In the interest of transparency you, obviously, did not scam me and I did cancel your wire. I find this to be wholly appropriate for the actions taken.

Currently out of the 12 Transactions above 7 have been "claimed" - As I said these will be the first to be reviewed.

im in the list http://blockexplorer.com/tx/5dc3bd83575af28839cee615a6659b01b7f5c63c18a529191480656e6f742022

I'm giddy as a schoolboy. Just got all my USB Block Erupters set up and hashing. Just had to share this here.

I'm likely using the same hardware that you have. Can you (or have you in another thread?) let us know what software you are running these with? Are you on a windows machine?

Thanks in advance!

judging by the picture its cgminer 3.1.1 (bitminter) and .bat would indicate windows

The extra 19 aren't perk units, the retail 1.99 BTC price includes a 6 month warranty as per above. I wouldn't expect to get back used equipment after exercising a warranty return. If he is going to mine with the groups warranty units and keep the profits in addition to his original payment great, but it would be in good form to throw something back to the group.

Also, if a unit is defective, doesn't Arklan return them to friedcat for a replacement?  Or is that only after the 19 units are exhausted?

Units are supposed to be pulled from the extras for replacement so that friedcat doesnt have to deal with it. basically to issue new unit and throw away bad unit.

I'd be willing to give ya 1BTC if you're just trying to be rid of it.
69  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: ASICMiner Block Erupter USB group buy (US/Canada) on: May 31, 2013, 06:22:59 PM
im biased as i've gotten my miners and have already recouped half of 1's cost but I say let him keep them to use with a couple untouched as warranty devices.

that or maybe he allow arklan to mine with them keeping his original percentage fee and then doling out the rest as dividends appropriated to the groups purchase percentage of each individual in the buy? I have free power so I'd offer to host the pooled collective but judging from how up in arms everyone is I dont know if its worth it.

Final thought on it is arklan did a great job I got what I paid and he was upfront about getting extras, if people feel jaded by this arklans reasonable and im sure he'll make a good decision even though per the terms he shouldn't have too.

cheap too but only 3 amps, plus non vertical it can only hold 4 and other 3 ports are unusable but the nice thing is you can put it on a usb mug cooler and the heatsinks sit flush Smiley

The 10-port Anker hub did not work with my Raspberry Pi (Arch Linux) :/  The RasPi recognizes the hub, but it reported errors in trying to recognize the USB Block Erupters.  Using a different hub, the RasPi recognizes the USB-BEs just fine.  So that's disappointing.  I have all 10 running off my Windows desktop for now, until I can figure out a solution.  I'd probably order and try a BeagleBone Black instead, but I hear it's still unstable.

Quick note: I had to give the sticks a good push to get them plugged all the way in.  It was easy to plug them in enough to receive power, but not enough to connect properly.  Had to give 'em a couple extra Newtons to plug all the way in and function.  Luckily the Anker hub has a blue LED that only lights up when they're connected correctly.

What mining software / management software are you using for your miners? Drivers / settings used for the USB sticks would be much appreciated! Smiley

Thanks

If you've got a pi might try Minepeon, its pretty nice loads.  Guy has really be developing lately.
I'm using cgminer 3.1.1 on ubuntu 13.04 launched via this

./cgminer-nogpu --icarus-options 115200:1:1 --icarus-timing 3.0=80 -S /dev/ttyUSB0 -S /dev/ttyUSB1 -S /dev/ttyUSB2 -S /dev/ttyUSB3 -S /dev/ttyUSB4 -S /dev/ttyUSB5

the -S is followed by device names for the 6 miners i have

...yup... sorry!!! 2 pm and i just woke... slept like 12 hours. i had meant to just nap for a couple, then go ship the internationals...

i'm bad at this.

for those showing shipped but missing tracking: i have shipped them, i just haven't sent you the tracking. i'll do it after i ship the internationals and am sending out their tracking. couple hours or so from now. but rest assured: they got shipped and will arrive next week.

Got mine all working, thanks.

Anyone having issues mining on ubuntu 13.04 I got mine working by removing modemmanager
sudo apt-get --purge remove modemmanager

and then specifying each of the ttyUSB devices under /dev with the -S parameter on cgminer 3.1.1

this made my day, well along with the notice of being first Tongue
Thanks for the continuous updates! if you ever host a group buy again let me know. this was by far the easiest experience I've seen on here. (thanks John as well!)

I hear you.  But if someone doesn't pay up.. I'd be happy to take their spot (for 2). Smiley

M

If somebody doesn't pay up, their spot disappears.  We already have the minimum in escrow.  Canary will be VERY happy to include you in the other group buy.

Cutoff for payment is less than 7 days now right?  We down to what?  Six?  Do we have a counter or something?  I like counters.

Get those monies in!

i dont really know when the deadline is but just everyone hurry up lol

--edited to remove time as someone mistook the joke for an order timer.
76  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: ASICMiner Block Erupter USB group buy (US/Canada) on: May 10, 2013, 04:37:43 PM
If I counted that right we need 54 more units paid for before we can submit the order.

Does anyone want to put up for those?  (i.e. you pay and if the other person comes through before the deadline then you get your money back, otherwise you get the extra unit?)

I would be up for a couple, but will need more support from others.

The order is already covered as far as min quantity goes so no need.

I know its covered for min quantity, but if we want to submit order today, then we need payment for the 54 units that have not been paid for (nothing to do with the 300 mark).  I was asking if anyone wanted to say they would cover those units until the others paid so that we could get the order in.

no one has heard back from friedcat anyway so there's no reason to rush anything at this point.

i see that i can just print it on regular printer paper. i'll just do that ,then apply to box/envelope and cover in packing tape so it's waterproof.

i figure padded envelopes for overs of 5 or less (each unit in it's own anti-static bag and bubble wrapped) and for bigger orders, boxes with foam inserts to separate the units. i already have a ton of cardboard and foam from other stuff, so it's no big to do that.

You can do that, but they don't want you to tape over the barcodes, and they're a bit of a pain to avoid (I've done it hundreds of times).

Please, please don't use a padded envelope for my shipment.  Use a box with packing material (crumpled newspaper works) surrounding the items.  Understand that the mail gets beat the f up.  You should see what some things look like after they've been through it.  I can imagine anything in a padded envelope getting thoroughly crushed.

I use boxes like these: http://www.ebay.com/itm/200-6-x-3-x-2-White-Corrugated-Shipping-Mailer-Packing-Box-Boxes-/380554330622
+1 never use padded envelopes for hardware. use small boxes they keep their shape.

i'm gonna need more cardboard... Cheesy

I always get my mailers from here. http://www.uline.com/Product/GuidedNav.aspx?t=184360&R=1%3b1
or better deal on smaller stuff but takes longer to get usually (week or so for delivery) http://www.amshippingsupplies.com/-c-21.html#IndestructoŽ

I think there is only two group buys which have over 300 pieces ordered, this and the German one. First batch is going to be 10,000 pieces.  I see no reason to rush it especially when in a post made 4th May Friedcat said there is going to be a lead time of 15-20 days, so anythink isn't going to get shipped out before 19th May.
You're assuming there aren't non-group purchases being made?  Group buys are for individuals. Retailers and ebay marketers may have made other orders.

I don't assume anything. I just pointed out a fact that I have noticed by following all the group buy threads I have found.

With all this ranting about too high price, do you assume there are many retailers and ebay marketers taking a risk making orders for ~34000 USD?

if everyone just goes a head and pays now we have no issues. im all for getting the order in early but i also understand people arent on the forums everyday.
Let the timer run out, at that point only accept new orders which can pay at the same time as the order is made. If we have guaranteed funding for 300 i dont think friedcat
will have any issues securing our place in the queue.

bottom line is we can only order those that are paid for... get your moneys in!  (honestly im impressed with how smoothly this group buy is going compared to others i've witnessed. Good Job OP and John and thank you!)

I got to the point where I figured out how to input a message, but what serves as the signature?  My forum name, a set of numbers? What should I input on the message? Forgive me, but I have never sent a signed message using this feature.

In your Bitcoin client, double-click the payment transaction, and copy the transaction ID.  Visit http://blockexplorer.com/tx/[your transaction ID].  On that page, copy the top "From address".  Enter that in the top field under File->Sign Message.

The program will verify that you own the private key to that address, and generate a signature for the message you typed in, which should include your shipping address.

@ tvbcof and Klestin thanks.
I still don't understand the mechanisms involved.
To be honest there should be an illustrated video highlighting how this works and how to use the feature.

I think I got it, however I have multiple from addresses, i presume it is ok to just enter 1 of them to generate the message?

correct you just have to maintain ownership of the address you sign with as long as you need to lay claim to the payment.
