62  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / WANTED - Bitcoin Mining Developer, Technical Expert - Hardware AND Software on: May 27, 2013, 12:42:45 AM
Hi Guys,

I have been doing some general and detailed investigation into the bitcoin mining field for several months.

I admittedly am no expert in a lot of the fields, but I do see a lot potential in one particular area that I thinks warrants some detailed investigation by someone somewhat more knowledgable than myself.

I am therefore after some recommendations by people in this forum of someone who would bring the necessary skills, along with being trustworthy.

Referrals and self referrals can be made publicly or by PM.

My thoughts going in are that we investigate my thesis (briefly at first) with the aim of forming a partnership to develop the ideas should they bear fruit. Thus trust is a key issue.

Regards,

Adam

Would it be a good idea to spread the bad chip risk amongs all buyers in a batch? My problem with the current situation is who will get the shaft for the bad chips? If we think there could be a maximum of 2% chips failure we should reserve 2% of the batch has a reserve and all buyers should pay 2% more for the reserve of chips:

0.086 * 0.02 = 0.00172 more per chips for a reserve of 200 chips (2%)

During assembly, we can use the reserve to replace the bad chips. At the end of shipping and testing if for example 1% of the chips were faulty they are sent back to avalon for replacement. The rest of the chips in the reserve that are goods are sold in an auction at the best price. The replacements chips from Avalon will also be sale in an auction when received back. All the profit from the sales will be returned to the buyers (steamboat can keep 9% for is work). At the end no one should loose money and all of us will have better chance to have working chips and boards.

good idea. i was wondering if there was a faulty board, who would end up with it.

Hey steamboat,

i'm considering 'doubling down' on my order.

1st order was batch 2.

2nd order may be batch 3.

Just wanted to know an estimated time in weeks between completed boards from batch 2 and completed boards from batch 3.

I would likely go ahead with another 12 boards if it looks like being a shortish period of time.

Thanks

Adam

I think a few of the inaccuracies are by the reporter and not the manufacturer.

Still funny though

I have ordered and paid for 116 chips. I believe that I need 12 more to make up the full board.

When would you like this extra done, or should I do when paying for the board assembly.

Thanks

Hi guys.

I'm in Tassie.

Would be interested in some boards.

Could you post a bit more info on where you are at with regard to chips, design etc.

 And associated costs etc.

Cheers

Adam

Maybe something generic like that.

Ironic though.

I will try to post a picture later, but I just checked in on the bitcoin charts.com page, and they have an advertising banner at the top of the page advertising some Australian Government Scheme.

Just checking that I have read all the threads correctly, and we are on the same page.

I would like to order 100 chips. 8.6BTC.

At the moment, this is the price for the chips alone.

Hopefully steamboat can soon offer assembly of the chips into ready to go miners. (By this, I mean that I download the software, join a pool, and , plug in the miners, and i'm ready to go.)

This could cost as much as the cost of the chips ie another 8.6 BTC.

If all this is correct, i'm ready to go, and will send payment soon.

Thanks for your time and effort in answering all these questions, I'm sure it takes a lot of time.

Thanks

Adam

80  Economy / Economics / Re: Goal to shoot for: 7000 bitcoins if you want to get richer on: May 11, 2013, 12:02:31 AM
At current bitcoin numbers, there are only enough for 1500 people to have 7000 coins and 15,000 to have 700 coins.

For a population of 300 million, that's one in 3,000 and 1 in 30,000 respectively.

I think a few hundred coins once they become mainstream, will put you totally in the rich camp, while others will be fighting over .001 btc
