Thanks, I reviewed those threads and I am able to manage temperature a little better now. However, the values on the example images appear to have increased memory (you said to decrease memory when using ccminer). I used clock + 250 and memory + 650. Ccminer began to crash, so I reduced to memory +350. I am still seeing Ccminer crashes, so I will bump it down even more? CCminer algos do not need high memory. Only ethash needs high memory. Those "examples" you cite are for probably for ZEC/ETH mining. So lower memory all the way down to -500. You will see your core clock increase due to lower mem clocks. You need to set core much lower, ccminer tends to crash with too high core. Never set your PL above 75%. Compensate lower PL with increase of core clock. I do not have 1070/80, my 1060s are PL 75/core +120/mem -500.

How exactly do you disable alexis? My 6 voucher rig just crashes constantly with it.
Just put # infront of algo in ccminerAlexis78.ps1 But first try removing/lowering the intensities. I read somewhere that Alexis has higher default intensities, more suited for 1070/1080/ti. Also "skunk" = " -i 26 -d $SelGPUCC" #Skunk in tpruvot miner could be too high for non-1080ti? Are the intensity changed in the bat file? Look in "miners" folder.

Yo thanks for all replies, it's still not working, though. How to enable the 4g thing? This is fucked. I am using windows 10 pro.
In the BIOS. But first check if you are running the newest BIOS version. If not, update.

Seems that ETH team will remove the ice-age timebomb but will reduce the reward to half... either way I think its not a good deal for most miners.
Can somebody please enlighten me regarding this reward halving announcement. They will see massive hashrate drop if they lower the mining rewards. Ethereum network is breaking down every time a new ICO is launched on it. With massive miner exodus it will probably totally collapse. Are Vitalik&Co crazy to alienate miners? Maybe I am missing some important piece of the puzzle? Thank you.

yeh that one is better.... whats are your main question's?
His questions are un-answerable. I have been reading the same questions, same confusions from other people on other threads for months. There is no definitive answer to those questions. Sometimes NH pays more, sometimes zpool, sometimes MPH. The markets are in constant flux, the easy days of simple choice ETHvsZEC are over. The accusations of profit stealing have been debunked by people who understand how zpool works. It all comes down to two strategies. Either you use profit switching solution that pays in bitcoin, or you mine the coin and sell it yourself on exchange. The third solution is called "no guts, no glory" way: you mine a low difficulty coin and hold it, hoping that the pump will come and you will be able to sell for maximum profitability. Mining has become a major PITA.

Can I ask on what card(s) you tested and set the intensity in miners.sp1? I get some random reboots/blue screens. Isnt it better to have a intensity recommendation and let us set our own -i by trial and error and your tests?
As far as I can see he changed the intensities of Alexis. Or are those the default intensities set by Alexis himself? So go ahead and set your own values. Right click on ccminerAlexis78.ps1, select edit and voila! I myself have no freezes/bluescreen but sometimes get "ccminer has stopped working" on skunk mostly.

Greetings Minerx, hope you recovered from illness. Nice to see you back in github action. What is the purpose of deleting profit.txt via resetprofit.bat?

Yeah sorry - you guys are right. I should have been a little more clear in my statement. I'm more comfortable with Windows being able to connect to rigs via RDP is very helpful for me personally. I connect to a middle box, and then from that box RDP into my rigs. I'm able to restart from anywhere in the world where I have cell service if claymore or ccminer crashes, and watchedog doesnt restart for whatever reason.
I tried RDP but it causes one of my GPUs to lose overclock. Anyone having the same problem? Solution maybe? VNC plays nice, but GUI is not so responsive as when using RDP. Thanks. Regarding Windows, if you can get your hands on LTSB version, go for it. Crap-free and receives only security upgrades. I also disable Windows Defender on all my rigs and set Windows Update to notify-only when new upgrades are available. Winaero Tweaker utility is godsend for fast and easy tweaking such things. I think that disabling updates is highly not recommended in this day and age.

@minerx will you be releasing the new version during the weekend? I see you have been busy on github ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)

Greetings Mr. Megaminer, what -interval value do you recommend for auto-switching pools? Is 300 too low? And is the latest driver recommended? I still use 378.XX version. Thanks.

I just installed the newest master with increased intensity (-25) for ccminer skunk. Both of my 1060 rigs now have "ccminer has stopped working" error after a few hours. In both cases they froze while running skunk. Nemo, is your 1060 rig stable with -i 25 on skunk? Are you using latest drivers? I am still on 378, reluctant to upgrade, since I am seeing conflicting reports about which drivers to use for ccminer. Also, could you integrate this into next version? https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2070862.0EDIT Thanks for the new version!

384.x and more recent will handle the future CUDA 9. But hard to say if they are better or not, try and see oh i forgot: dont trust sp and other trolls in its thread ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif) Thanks. What do YOU use? Greetings, I am finding conflicting info on which driver to use for ccminer. I am currently on latest 378 version but sp_ claims that 384.94 is recommended for his version of ccminer. Some other users claim it is not so. I am mostly running Alexis so I am wondering is it worth upgrading from 378 branch to 384? Thanks.
|
|
|
what about 1070? it's working good with this driver?
yes. Pascal cards like the new driver. I compiled and tuned for 384.94 So its definitely worth upgrading from 378.78? Its been rock solid for almost half a year, so I am reluctant to upgrade.

"cashen" for Nvidia Inspector you can just use these commands:
NVI_0_2_200_-1000_80_83_0
that = (gpu device 0 / core + 200 / mem -1000 / powertarget 80% / temp 83)
Is it possible to use Inspector shortcut for multiple GPUs like this: NVI_0_2_200_-1000_80_83_0 NVI_1_2_200_-1000_80_83_0 NVI_2_2_200_-1000_80_83_0

Hi Nemos aficionados, can somebody give me a hint how to put rig name into start.bat so it shows on zpool like this ID=NemosMiner-v2.0.9,nameoftherig,c=BTC Thanks.

FYI visiting your download link directly in google chrome gives this, and i'm not sure why. I don't remember seeing it when I went directly to github itself before:
*edit, visiting and clicking from github itself gives the same warning... so I am at a loss for words past my FYI.
you are not alone in your struggles https://www.ghacks.net/2017/07/25/firefox-blocks-all-github-release-downloads-as-deceptive/BTW, do I need to install the complete CUDA package to run ccminer? Or just CUDA runtime?
