Why Bitcoin Addresses Need to Go

Right now, Bitcoin is simply too difficult for the average person to use.

Paving the way for mainstream adoption, it seems, requires that we simplify and obfuscate away the confusing parts.

what do you think? i like the idea.

How does it work? They generate a bitcoin address for you
and then what? Why would I send funds to that adr when
I'm not the only one controlling the private key?

Edit on self: overlooked the 'change address' button.

Very much looking forward to my trezor! I know a lot of people eager to buy one because they don't know how to safely store BTC.

Or to open it and look what's inside...Wink

Maybe that is why other companies went the route of dozens to hundreds of chips instead of just two.

Bingo sir;)

I think what this forum or similar could do to help is a recommended manufacture link and rated by trusted senior members like your selves.  I am sure such link probably exist but perhaps buried or crowded with many posts.  I guess clean list of scam alerts for member and or manufacture, that is easy to locate would be very helpful and could reduce number of people falling in this trap.

From 'A point of order: Conduct in this subforum' :

".... Generally the subject matter should be boring
technical, procedural, dry things. ..."

This thread might not fully comply with this rule I guess:)

76  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Capacitor repair on an Antminer S1 board? on: June 07, 2014, 10:22:26 PM
I recently received an S1 which is missing a cap from every pair. It looks like they were just never there. I still haven't heard back from bitmain yet. Does anyone know where we can purchase replacements? As close to these as possible is preferred.

It is very well possible these were 'NOPOPs',
parts that were not ment to be populated
on the board.

Sometimes after testing a design, it turns
out some parts can be omitted without
decreasing the performance of the circuit.
Parts are then not placed during production
in order to save a few bucks.

When the solder on the pads looks nice and
regular, there were never caps on that location.

I belive its intron, if you search the alpha test thread it should be there.

Smiley

Yes, it was the 'binfury' board:) We never
were able to get it functional, too busy
at that moment.

Willing to sell or OSHW?

It's not functional, so the board is not very
useful as it is now I guess.
