i think the chin's of most longer time hodlers are still up, however the boringness from going sideways this long and maybe longer to much longer who knows, will be testing many hodlers patience especially the guy's bought in later ...
but the ones with the right intentions of hodling BTC will not be bothered to much ,just keeping the longer term picture in mind

Sideways... Up... or Down! I’m going to hold.... and this is very different to 2014 because I was unsure of whether I was doing the right thing then and just deluding myself. Whereas now, it’s just a ho-hum -keep calm and carry on kinda thing with no desire to panic sell regardless of price.

...however, I’ve started playing with my bot again (after almost a year) to relieve the boredom.

... sometimes alt coin pumpers spout out a lot of abstract ideas that sound good, and they use abstraction to bamboosle some folks into their scams...

Sometimes, posters like to be flamboyantly verbose with their prose, in an attempt to seem more intelligent and sage-like, when in reality, they are doing it to mask crippling insecurities of wanting to be accepted, but that's none of my business...           /s

+1 Biro Bob merit  Grin (don’t have any Bitcointalk ones... but these are better and much more rare)

I'm going to start a new poll soon: During slow periods, what's more entertaining - tumbleweeds rolling by, or R0ach posts?

It’s funny you should say. Only one page ago, I stopped ignoring Roach because I was missing his pearls of wisdom. Let’s see how long I can before ignoring him again.

Fucking Bitcorn. Last week of the quarter, and no fucking way I'm selling 4 digit USD Bitcorns.

Here's hoping for a miracle over the next 4 days, folks.

British people have a little longer.... anyone selling before April 6th will need to pay their capital gains tax in January 2019. If they sell after April 6th, they won’t need to pay the CGT until January 2020. Some people will split their sales between the two dates because if they sell too many (pushing them into a higher tax rate) they will be liable for 28% tax instead of 20%.

https://www.gov.uk/guidance/pay-the-tax-you-owe-on-a-capital-gain-straight-away

(Title is misleading.... straight away... No!)

28% is for property only. 20% is the max for all other thingies.

You are indeed correct. I was confusing the 10% and 20% rate between lower and higher rate.

It is still worth splitting sells between now and after April 6th in order to take advantage of two lots of £11k tax free allowances and the benefit of not paying until 2020.

I’ve just been reading that article about some money manager who says Bitcoin is a bubble that’s about to burst.....

Dude! It has burst. The bubble burst in December. What we’re seeing here is price discovery and it will go down until it stops going down. Then it will go up and keep going up until another bubble appears (much higher than the last) and then it will burst.... and down it will go again. Rinse and repeat.

Notice MSM media and talking heads are more inclined to report the failure of Bitcoin, but compared to any known equity, Bitcoin has kicked ass and out performed them all... even if the price fell to $2000.

Anyway.. like Mr Loblaw, my coins are NOT FOR SALE right now.

The fact that bitcoin is sound money trumps everything; adoption, payment networks, umwelts, all these buzzwords newcomers bandy.
This shit is real money and it will absorb all the capital there is, with or without us.

I agree. I just feel bad that it’s being stockpiled by smart and wealthy investors who are using big waves to scare new and not so wealthy (or smart) investors into losing money by panic selling. And they’ll keep on doing this till they have the Lions share of the coins..... then do it again....

Please could you add the open close price ranges next to the sad faces going forward so we Get an idea of price and trend. A bit like a textual chart buddy. Ie (8500 - 9200)

It doesn’t need to be exact, just an approximation for historical value..

I realise it’s extra work... but just thought it would be a nice touch....

Thanks.

Now that I’m poor, I wish I hadn’t told all those clients to go **** themselves in December.

Actually, I don’t. It felt kinda good.  Grin

C’mon Bitcoin! Man up so I can do it to a few more!

73  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: March 08, 2018, 05:17:36 PM

Most definitely. I am starting to buy up what’s left for novelty value.

We go up now, it seems.  Must be because I left a sell order unattended for the day at .03 .  WTF am I supposed to do with bitcoin Tongue

The timing of this pump is odd. I have trouble believing there's a sudden, spontaneous, mass Monero awakening. OTOH, I'm cynical.

I think that the Ledger integration on Github is now looking more likely being added to the March release.
