61  Economy / Economics / Re: If you were in desperate need for money.... on: November 23, 2016, 08:56:19 PM
If I need money badly, I would just sell my stuff that has value to it.

I would do it too, moreover, I would only sell to open a business. In case I am in dire need of money I would seek informal employment. For example: I would clean pool in the house of others in return they would pay me, sell in the store in exchange for paying me, I would clean the garden of the people's house in exchange for paying me. I would work hard to reverse my financial situation.

I would probably sell stuff like games, TV and alcohol.

Selling that would not be enough, unless you had a super collection of expensive drinks.

Even a few bottles worth $20 a cap could stack up pretty quickly. Say you have 10 bottles of vodka/whisky at home, you could always find a buyer for that as it won't expire.
62  Economy / Speculation / Re: Explanation for the 710-750 drops? on: November 23, 2016, 08:29:53 PM
There is a lot of hype surrounding the dollar right now. A lot of people is speculating with a rise of the US. Donald Trump is actually giving people the hope of repeating the American dream. This is of course delusional and a mirage. Once reality kicks in, the doomed fiat currencies will keep their path towards destruction, and Bitcoin will explode to 5 figures.

First of all, not an American and not a Trump supporter (not rooting for Hillary Clinton either).
I think Donald Trump is actually going to do something good. His president-elect speech, the way he's changing his opinions right now (the one about global warming for example). I believe he can actually do good to America and possibly the entire world.

It's just an opinion/expectation of mine and no one knows for sure. We'll see what the future holds.
63  Economy / Speculation / Re: Explanation for the 710-750 drops? on: November 23, 2016, 07:33:37 PM
Hey guys,

It happened again today, BTC was worth $750+ for like 5 minutes. After that, the drop started again. Right now it's $735 for 1 BTC, does anyone have an explanation why this is happening? I doubt it's manipulation though.

Idiots are scared when the price goes down a bit and panic sell, creating all those dips, which whales quickly buy taking profits. So it's always the same, idiots lossing money, while whales get more BTC and the overall price is still an uptrend since janaury 2015. We will be at 1000+ in 2017 for sure.

Let's hope it'll get there soon Wink. Thanks for your answer.
64  Economy / Economics / Re: How many Bitcoin do you have saved? on: November 23, 2016, 06:21:44 PM

Just some consolidation I would guess.

750-780 resistance is strong and the support and demand is very strong aswell

I did indeed notice that it never seems to get over $750 lately. Is the resistance basically that people are selling everything at $750?
67  Economy / Economics / Re: If you were in desperate need for money.... on: November 23, 2016, 05:44:42 PM
If I need money badly, I would just sell my stuff that has value to it.
I won't sell the things that can possibly make me money though, like a computer (laptop). As you this to get a job online (sending resumé, e-mail, etc).

I would probably sell stuff like games, TV and alcohol.
68  Economy / Economics / Re: The dream of getting rich with bitcoins on: November 23, 2016, 05:40:52 PM
I never got as rich that I'll be able to say: I got so much that I can't spend it in one lifetime.
However, I made enough that will make me able to get a nice car.
i am impressed that you made enough money with bitcoins to purchase a car,if i had to purchase something i had to spend money from my pocket and then convert to bitcoin if i want to ,how on earth are you making this sort of money

I actually got very lucky. When the price was $200-230, I purchased so much BTC. Sold them at $700 recently, so there's your answer.

So from my stand, to get rich with anything (not just Bitcoin), you got to do 2 things:

1. Able to take risks
2. Get extremely lucky

In terms of Bitcoin, get rich times are not part of the story anymore as the price has gone up so much already. You either trade/invest where you make decent profits from time to time, or you keep holding your coins for many years in the hope that you will experience what early adopters years ago have experienced. The latter is something I can't see happening.

Forex is another way to become wealthy but what i ask is how do you define rich. people have different definitions of rich. how much money do you need to make to feel satisfied

If I am completely honest, then in terms of a certain amount, I would put it at having at least $1 million. Everything below that is a fantastic amount, but not something I would see as a special achievement. But then again, $1 million is also some sort of psychological number that people tend to associate with being rich.

You can still get rich off of Bitcoin, but not at the pace it used to go. We won't have another price jump from $3 to $1100.
It might go slower than before, but you can still make a lot of money if you're in the right place at the right time.

In my opinion, once you paid off your house, got yourself a car and about $1 million in savings, we can say you're rich.

70  Economy / Speculation / Re: The adoption boom is coming on: November 23, 2016, 05:34:40 PM
I don't think mainstream adoption is coming at all. How many people use bitcoins to purchase stuff from Overstock?

Bitcoin is behaving more like an asset class (gold, property etc). People who want to store wealth away from the prying eyes of govt. People in places like Venezuela and Argentina who are dealing with delinquent currencies and want something to hold it's value.

But in the west normal fiat will continue to be used to purchase the necessities of life.

that's because there is still no real way to earn bitcoin easily for the average people aside from buying which is not convenient for many, and also it feel like investment, many don't want to invest, they want to acquire, you don't invest to have fiat, you acquire it, so until bitcoin will not be easy to acquire it will no be on par with fiat

It'll never be easy to acquire for everyone.
Let's say a boss will pay all of his employees in BTC. The boss is the person that has to get through the hassle of getting that BTC.
Mining is the only way to get Bitcoins these days and that's not accessible for the simple man anymore sadly.

boss can get them via exchange or via gateway like bitpay in a more easy way, if he is a merchants for example, instead of being a private, also he would get all his revenue in bitcoin, and pay his employee with bitcoin, still far better than every individual buying by himself his coin

I agree, that's why I said it. But there will always be a handful of people that can't be pleased because it takes more work for them to get the Bitcoin. Be it bosses, miners, homeless people or whatever, someone will have trouble getting BTC.
71  Economy / Digital goods / Re: [Selling] $50 Digital Ocean Coupon + $10 Promo Code (One Package) on: November 23, 2016, 04:19:59 PM
Don't you think your price is a bit high ? 10$ to receive a coupon from GitHub you get with student pack. So Anyone can simply buy edu email for 2-3$, register on GitHub, get 50$ coupon + many other things just from student package there and not to mention that you can sign up with edu email and receive discounts on many other sites  Grin Right price for this would be like 1$ or smth like that

Man, thanks for that idea Wink I learn a lot here at bitcointalk day by day Smiley

haha no problem. I usualy would't do something like this but when i see that someone is selling something so overpriced like op  i want to tell users how to get it cheaper. He uses the same method to receive his codes

Actually no, I got it from my university e-mail. This is a legit one for once.

At this point it is going to take major news to thrust BTC into a new ATH. Whether it's Pokemon Go implementing Bitcoins or Zuckerberg coming out and saying he has a Million BTC... only time will tell

I think Zuckerberg telling he has a million BTC will only drop it's price for his ability to crash the market.

76  Economy / Speculation / Re: When do we cross the 1000 USD barrier? on: November 22, 2016, 07:58:48 PM
I'm good at predicting stuff, I'm guessing it'll happen on January 22th, 2017. After that date, the BTC price will probably crash back down to $900 quickly.
77  Economy / Speculation / Re: 1000+ is anytime now on: November 22, 2016, 07:51:28 PM
I like the idea of hitting a 1000(+) again as well. The only part that I dislike is the price chart after hitting this $1000 mark once again. News, especially wallet and exchange hacks, will hit the price even more once it is above a $1000.

For exchanging BTC itself, $1000 for 1 BTC would be great if it stays around that number. It shouldn't become too expensive.

About your safe, I hope you pinned it to the ground, because small safes are often prone to theft.

One of the paper wallet is inside my bank locker. See the irony? Cheesy

Oh yes I do Cheesy. That comment just made my day.
Have a good one sir.

80  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Best wallet for a Raspberry Pi on: November 22, 2016, 07:28:35 PM
Raspberries can handle pretty much any wallet you can compile to ARM. The wallet you'll use will depend on the usage you're looking for. Either way Electrum and Armory are very good options.

Decided to install Electrum on it as I'm not looking for a full node on this thing.
Thanks for the advice anyways.
