If someone coyld do a piggyback site off ebay but with lower charges and different rules but still use the ratings for the users from ebay, so sell on the bay but payout at the second site with an escrow like here tthat would be something...

67  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ebay chargebacks on: August 20, 2014, 02:34:12 PM
if teir 13.4% tax was  less itd be more worthwhile to sell, even with these problems, a 5% charge including paypal would be much better, they make nearly 50quid ona 380 s3 sale, im sure they can take a lesser cut.

69  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ebay chargebacks on: August 20, 2014, 08:54:38 AM
Yes ebay can be a bummer they l Iove the buyer and have their own policies even if you have no returns listed it doesn't cover you the way you think.with brown goods best way is to file a claim with the courier if within time limit but even they won't want to give your full money, I sold coincraft shitmine for 1400 buyer return it broken so poor a claim got 700 back only but the machine still hashes so some benefit.

I'll admit we did look into that a bit, but honestly there's enough folks already set up to do that we didn't know if we could be comptetetive anytime soon. If Novak builds his lightweight embedded Linux controller though, we might have a start to something. And if ASICMiner makes good on the BE300 having the same pinout as the BE200 that might be worth playing with. But we have a lot of infrastructure to take care of first.

true, bigger game, especially relying on others chips , that can kill everything like the avalon debacle.

73  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Dogie's Comprehensive Power Supply Analysis on: August 16, 2014, 07:07:51 AM
any way of using the eps8 pin  and atx 4pin cables on a psu to power an s3? have a 1500watt silverstone strider.

Not that easy as they don't have screw terminals. You could use an interface board like the blackarrow power distribution board. So EPS 8 pin -> extender cut up -> distribution board -> PCI-E cable cut up -> S3. I don't know what the current limit on those things is.

or if you could know which cables are which, just cut off the 8pin and 4pin atx and connect 6 pin pcie directly at the wire with crimps?

Should we always have a recent backup all the time or and old backup will do?
On bitcoin-qt you should backup every 50 [send] transactions or so and you must backup every 90 [send] transactions or so.

Really? I thought once you have a backup from any period itwould be ok asit would auto update once used if you lose othe dat file or change machines.

We got our boards today and just wanted to pop some pics of our setup.  The boards work flawlessly as expected, and everything ended up excellent so far.  Those fans on the PSU are 60mm case fans and seem to be holding up well.  They are only 3-pin fans, but connect to the fan header just fine and so far provide enough airflow as we can tell.

We're doing "blocks" of 4 x S3's per PSU.  If it works out correctly, I believe we can get 4 "blocks" (16 miners) onto a single 30A 240V circuit.  This will give us much more density per rack than maxing out the PSU's with 6 S3's per.

We currently have 2 blocks wired and running stable for about 6 hours so far, will add the second block tomorrow and see what happens.

nice setup , what fans are you using?
