Question... How big is too big? In other words, if this pool was as big as antpoo wouldn't that defeat the purpose of a "small mining pool"? Obviously, this is a hypothetical without regard to pool fees. I don't want to pay transactions fees for multiple small payments. I could be wrong but I do not believe that slush or antpoo have threshold limits that one can set.
I’m a noob but if I understand correctly, Kano has a way to put payouts through with zero fees. Either Kano pays the fee for everyone himself, or it goes through with the next found block by our pool. It’s unlikely that Kano would have to pay because the fee offered is tiny. But there is some trick to put in all the payouts of the previous block into the discovery of the next block. So in general payout fees are zero. Someone correct me if I’m wrong. Maybe he will splurge and send it through for a Christmas present! That being said  Lately Kano has put the minimum satoshi of what, .00001000 or something like that and should another pool grab the transaction and pass it, we would get paid faster than waiting for the next block. normally, there is no fee applied to the payment. It is found, it is confirmed and it is granted when the pool finds a block and processes the payment fee-free. It is what allows Kano to 1. Have the cheapest fee and 2. Allow him to financially pass along the transaction amount to us pool miners. |

On Slushpool I got 0.00229078 BTC since yesterday for one S9
Maybe someone can draw a better visual example, but just imagine 5DN as a ramp:  So day 1 you plug in your first miner to Kano's Pool and you have started your 5ND for that miner. You don't yet have much invested in the pool so if a block is found then, you get a tiny portion of it since you haven't worked on anything. As the 5ND ramps up, each block find gives you a larger and larger amount for a payment based on your time and work you have done, along with the size of the block (due to the fees it has collected). Then, at the top, once that miner has reached the top of the 5ND ramp, you will get your fully vested payments for that miner when a block is found. The same goes if you remove that miner. Even though it isn't contributing, it still has had the time it vested into the pool so you will get payments as it ramps down until it hits zero. But like I said, maybe someone can make a better one and explain it better, especially if I got it wrong. I tried to keep it basic |

My S7 and S7-LN earned me a total of $238.45 in the month of November on Antpool. Since this pool is only rocking about 1100 current users, should the next block we find have a huge reward? The last two blocks brought me a combined total of roughly $28, but I have only been mining Kano for about 10 days. Just trying to figure out how profitable this smaller pool can be. I think it's a great concept, less people creates a higher reward, but if you don't find a block you get nothing.
Say what you want about antpoo, at least you get paid every day, so who is the most profitable  It's a no-brainer for me  Go for it! Let's see. It's been a little over 8 days since we got a block. The last two blocks we got I made oh $1451 at current market value. That is, oh $175 bucks a day. You go over to Antpoo and get your $10 bucks a day (hypothetical, I dunno your hash-rate ) and be happy! No one really minds you moving but I think I will stay here kkthxbye! How many miners and what type do u have? 3 S9, 2 R7 and 1 Avalon 741. |

I was checking on my miners earlier and notcied the s9 i have pointed here that every minute or so its ramping up and down on the fans. The other miners pointed at different pools arnt doung this.
The temps were 71 69 and 69.
Any reason why?
Mine does that now and then, no idea why. Sometimes I reboot it and it stops. Shrug. |

What would be the reason that one would purchase this unit over the S9? Reliability is much better or so I have read, but power consumption is not. Would it be the fact that bitmain is not months behind and paying the scalper prices on eBay is absurd? Not trying to start anything here. Just attempting to confirm what I believe the reasons are based on my research. All in all given the retail pricing of both units wouldn't the S9 be the better machine 9 (not considering reliability).
Availability as well. You couldn't get an S9 from Bitmain either they were only releasing the L models for Eth and Ltn and or they were selling them for BCH. Then Canaan released the A7 and people slowly adopted them because they got tired of waiting for s9's. problem is, neither company can supply enough miners and frankly, they both are probably using every miner they make to mine their own BTC. I don't care what anyone says, but I am a firm believer that's the case. I don't expect it to change for a while. Every now and then they will release a batch to make us think they are trying but they will be limited, go faster than most of us can purchase them etc. Normally, when supply overruns retail the companies will limit the purchase of an item to a few per customer. I don't believe these companies do that. So say they do make 1000 miners for sale. They put them up on their site and two people purchase them all. Leaving the rest of us out of luck. |

Nice another 73TH isn't bad! You have more than I do! Grumble. If I had electricity to power more lol. Plus Bitmain stopped selling them for anything other than BCC. I HATE that. If for nothing other than forcing me to use a currency I don't want to. It's the reason I started mining crypto in the first place. Now a main hardware manufacturer for BTC is forcing me to use a different crypto-currency. Does that not bother anyone else or I am just a weirdo? |

Maybe if you made it better for smaller miners to come back, since the price has gone up, reduce the dust level, the hashrate would boost again.
There is a reason for that dust limit I bet. I am not sure a minimum payment of 2.77 is a major prevention for miners to mine at a pool. |
