61  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: will the bitcoin reach $1000 one day...? on: December 13, 2013, 02:04:11 PM
It's a kick to go over this and read these comments then look at where things are today, not so far in to the future.

Higher price will come with higher adoption, not necessary to worry about this month highs and lows   Wink
62  Other / Off-topic / Re: 1.000.000 OR 1,000,000 on: December 13, 2013, 01:59:04 PM
However I was taught in school that if there is a decimal it means the value after that would be in cents.
So, I would always write 1 million as 1,000,000

All what should be teach at school is use brain. Seriously, anything that make sence works, like
1 000 000

Definitively positive report, worth the read.
64  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: will the bitcoin reach $1000 one day...? on: December 08, 2013, 03:09:01 PM
i think one year from now we'll be in a range between 4000 - 6000$ - at least!

Exactly my thinking, no need to worry the price dropped from ATH $1300 to $700 now, we will see many corrections every year, but the trend is up
65  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Invest in Bitcoin on: December 08, 2013, 02:53:23 PM
I am interested in investing in Bitcoins, but I am not sure how to start, where to invest, how much to invest etc. I would really appreciate if someone can guide thru some basic steps for dummies to get started. I can't mine so I am interested in buying bitcoins and trading.

If your from Europe, consider Bitstamp exchange
66  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Am I too stupid for Bitcoin? on: December 04, 2013, 03:53:00 PM

when is it EVER gonna be used for anything besides drugs, illegal things??

In fact SR is closed and I believe majority of transactions are legal and not much different legal/illegal ratio from other payment methods like banks
67  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: BitStamp - Withdrawal Prohibited on: December 04, 2013, 03:48:25 PM
Looks like all the exchange site starting to scam Sad

Not scam, you need to be verified sending ID + utility bill scans
68  Economy / Speculation / Re: Five years ahead on: December 04, 2013, 03:45:07 PM
I really would love the idea of 1 BTC reaches 1 million but it is not LOGICAl, let's suppose that it gets to 1 million and so far there are 12 million BTC so that would be 12,000,000,000,000 USD  That is imposible, put the feet on the ground, I think the realistic price for BTC would never be more that 10,000 USD.

Stop dreaming...

You dont need 12,000,000,000,000 USD for 1 million / BTC. Look at exchanges, there are about 100 million USD, yet 1000 USD * 12 million BTC = 12,000,000,000 USD
69  Other / Off-topic / Re: Satoshi Nakamoto, person of the year 2013? on: December 04, 2013, 03:26:40 PM
I voted just to see who Satoshi Nakamoto is. I wonder if we will know this sometime...
70  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is Anyone Buying Bitcoins? on: November 27, 2013, 02:42:50 PM
Seems many buying Bitcoin now, regardless of the crash FUD last days.
71  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Have the ASIC BTC miners paid off? on: November 27, 2013, 02:31:36 PM
Well the difficulty really jumped, about 5 times, but the prices went up about 8 times so I imagine most people should have made their money back in the first month or so.
Everyone was expecting the difficulty to go crazy in the last few months, but no one really saw the price hitting almost $1000  that soon Smiley

But if these mining units were purchased with Bitcoin, USD/BTC price increase doesnt matter, your break even only if you mine the Bitcoin used to bought the mining units back
72  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to identify if someone steal my BTCs? on: November 27, 2013, 02:27:19 PM
How to follow a transaction and keep following it until get it converted to money? What site can be used to follow a transaction chain?

You may use blockchain.info for example and see to what address your coins are transfered, to what address from this address and so on. But you probably never know when BTC is converted to money unless exchanges reveal deposit BTC addresses (they dont)

mixing-services make this following even more messy.

74  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Miner working even with wrong user ID and password on: November 22, 2013, 04:14:09 PM
Why does it work with wrong user ID and password?  When I put the correct user id and password how do I know that I am getting credit for the work being done?

You wont. Check in workers section when your miner submitted last share to be sure your shares will get credited Smiley
75  Economy / Speculation / Re: Price down to 1.25 - How low will it go? on: November 22, 2013, 04:11:27 PM
My advice is to take long term short position in USD. Hold as little USD as possible, always borrow when you need it, coz there is too much outta there and it will always be cheaper when you return the loan!

I dont agree, loans have much higher interest than inflation.

But hold as little USD as possible is good advice
76  Economy / Speculation / Re: Are there any real hardcore bears? on: November 22, 2013, 04:07:53 PM
The only true bear I can think of is someone mining and selling all his coins immediatelly.

No need to say how much value this bear looses...
77  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: A Noobs Discoveries (ALT Coin) on: November 22, 2013, 04:03:50 PM
Don’t mine if you have something lower than a ATI 7850

ATI 5850 works well, these cards are cheap and with low electricty costs slightly profitable
78  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Senate Hearings Today on: November 19, 2013, 02:15:46 AM
What a fucking joke to think they can "regulate" bitcoin.  Cheesy

Its their work to try control everything  Wink

I believe the hearing was very positive for Bitcoin
79  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin selling at $1100 per unit in BTCChina on: November 19, 2013, 02:11:42 AM
Since money is scarce, it is impossible for the price to rise exponentially. I believe even the $1100 price is way above our realistic expectations. At least now we know what drives this growth... the rise of demand from China.

I wouldnt say money is scarce, quite the oposite.
But I agree, I didnt believe we can see $1000 this year
