601  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: You must have a source on: December 13, 2023, 09:40:16 AM
You must have a source of income if you must succeed in your holdings.

For the few years I have been into cryptocurrency, I have discovered that you can't hold till the right time if your don't have a source of income. Just imagine that you have a pressing basic needs like feeding or rent, then you don't have money  to finance it, you will be forced to sell your Bitcoin at a loss if you don't have a source of income outside your holdings.

Most people that have sold their Bitcoin holdings at a loss or at an average price actually have the patience but don't have the knowledge of how to hold, because a good holder must be aware that he needs a source of income for him to be able to consolidate to his holdings.

It has happened to me severally, I have been able to hold now, since I started working as a merchandiser with Guinness, I think most times, experience is the best teacher.

Of course, you still need money here to make more money, simply as that. So others here, and I think majority of us have a regular 9-5 office job. And in turn, we uses our salary to invest on BTC, be a long term holder and then don't sell, only offload when necessary (taking profits in the bull run).

There could also be some though, who started their bitcoin journey with nothing, and then earn some for their signature of bounty campaigns and then turn it around thru trading. So there's a lot of ways really and it depends on each individual on how they are going to take their crypto journey here.
602  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Which one is fun, watching with bet or without a bet? on: December 13, 2023, 07:56:38 AM
Just trying to get the communities opinion based on their experience about the topic.

Personally, a a bettor, I find it very stressful when watching the game you are betting especially if it will end up a losing bet.

Of course, it's stressful when watching the game and we end up losing our bet. Like a game that is close and that it can go either way. Unfortunately, there as some small mistakes by your team causing you to lose that one.

If we have the same experience, how do you cope up with that problem, after all, gambling should be fun but why we have this kind of feeling that we feel disappointed when our bet loses?

Just accept the fact that you have lost your bet already and that there's nothing that you can do about it. Maybe learn a thing or two, and then look at how you analyzed the game. Maybe you might have missed something along the way and then just put this as a learning experience.
603  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: December 13, 2023, 07:23:05 AM
The Lakers seemed to be having a bit of hangover after winning the championship in the in season tournament.

They are down 10 points now against a Irving-Less Dallas Mavericks.
I hope they will comeback in the 2nd half and win this game.

BTW, I've taken them live with an odds of 3.06. Good luck to me!

They came back and even take the lead, but the Mavericks also have a big 4th quarter and was able to outrun the Lakers. It was just a 2 point game( final result), if you had taken the handicap instead, you'll likely have the win. Anyway, gambling it is, we sometimes go for bigger reward but big reward does not win most of the time.

I thought LeBron and AD both had good games. Looking at the box scores you have to really dig to see how the Lakers lost this one. In the end I think it boiled down to turnovers. The Lakers had 15 while the Mavericks only had 10. Give the Lakers and extra 5 possessions and I think this game turns out a little bit differently.

They didn't play well in the first half, that's the problem. And when they successfully have a big run in the 3rd quarter to make it a close game, they were outscored in the 4th quarter by the home team. I think the Lakers just did what they usually do, you can see Davis, Lebron and Reaves have some great numbers but on the other team, Hardway and Exum scoring 32 and 26 respecctively, that's kinda unusual.

Right, no one did sit on this game, Luka is not affected by the back injuries, Lakers going full force. But you have to appreciate how Luka and the Mavs moves the ball here. Luka finding Exum in the wing for that 3 when the Lakers is trying to close out.

So kudos to them, it's winnable game for the Lakers but they have failed to execute in the last 3-4 minutes of the game.

Luka taking over the 4th quarter and did have another great name. So great catch for those who have them as underdog in their bet.
604  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [Guide] Things to keep in mind Before Bull Run. on: December 12, 2023, 12:16:28 PM
If you are going to put your big capital on a single promising cryptocurrency, I would say that’s not good decision, for that diversification helps to reduce your investment risk.
While it's true that you're reducing the risk with your investment if you're going to diversify. But you can make some exceptions if you're going to invest all-in with Bitcoin only. As you've said about investing on a very promising cryptocurrency, isn't Bitcoin a promising one? You see Bitcoin maximalists telling you that they invest only and Bitcoin and that's totally fine. This is the exception that I am saying, not with a single altcoin but investing to Bitcoin-only is fine. Diversification is fine but that's what others have to understand as well why investing in Bitcoin alone is preferable and counts as a good decision. Well, that's for me and might not be for you since you've just said that it's not a good decision.

Well for me, it we are talking about diversification, it's bitcoin and then other assets that is not crypto, maybe stocks or precious metals.

But obviously, if you are into crypto, then bitcoin and other solid altcoins, there could be some who takes more risk and invest on new coins or even what we call pump and dump coins. However, to be on the conservative side, why not altcoin that is already solid, like in the top 10 for diversification.

At least you can sleep at night without thinking that the price might go down hard.
605  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is Bitcoin Bear Market over? on: December 12, 2023, 11:30:10 AM
Hi guys I was wondering that Bitcoin crossed 37000 dollars is there any chances that Bitcoin bear market over and we might see good greeny day.
What are your thoughts 🤔💭
actually it doesn't work like that, because what determine the increment of bitcoin is the gravitation of the demands and the supply, when the supply is higher than the demands the price of bitcoin get increased but a process whereby the supply is higher than the demands, its obvious that price of bitcoin may absolutely drop unexpectedly,  so bitcoin price reaching thirty thousand to thirty seven thousand [30k-37k] does not mean that it has escape bearish season, the price can fall at any point in time due to the level or the status of the demands in the market

And after a month from the OP's thread, we have seen the price almost crossed $45k. With that, and within two weeks before the end of the year, we might say that we are in the tail end of the bear market.

Prices since the lowest low last year of $15,500 has more than doubled already. So it's a indication that the bullish sentiments will go till the end of the year.

Unless there will a black swan event, but from the looks of it, I guess we are over with negative news.
606  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Inoue vs Tapales for Unified Super Bantamweight Title - December 26 on: December 12, 2023, 10:37:35 AM
It looks like the fight between those two is a match, but I bet on Inoue there, because I see more strong potentials that he will win over his opponent. Although I'm not saying that he will compete against a weak opponent.

Since Inoue easily beat Donaire in their 2nd fight and clearly he has improved a lot in that fight and also visible in his last fight as well, the fans have no confidence in Tapales anymore and this should be his main motivation to excel in his training and surprise everyone that underestimate him. Though it's hard to believe that he can actually beat Inoue, he has the chance and it could be his way to have another fight against him and it will surely be a great benefit for him because of the huge payment they will get. This should be his aspiration for his determination to win this fight is really needed.

Of course, a fighter has always that kind of motivation and that's what fuel the best in this sports. Even Canelo mentions that in every new fight of him. He has to shut down his detractors with a great win and proved that he still has it.

In this case though, many have underestimated Tapales not because he is the more known fighter between the two. He is a huge underdog because he is facing on the best super bantamweight that we have seen in the last 10 years that clearly dominate another great champion in this division in Fulton and then simply clean up the bantamweight division before moving up.
Inoue fans wont really be that increasing in numbers if Inoue's performance is shit, but if we do try to look out with those KO percentage and being undefeated then it cant really be denied that he would really be getting up that kind of recognition and popularity on boxing fans all over the world. Basically boxing fans would really be sticking into those highly favorite and we do always have that so called underdog in every matches.
This what make things that interesting on making some bet if we do speak about gambling on which it isnt really that something a shocking thing that people would be sticking into those favorite
but we know that there are people who would really be that planning to throw up some bucks to Tapales considering the odds were pretty good and there are ones who are really that
confident that Tapales might be able to get this upset.

I've seen some people bet big bucks on Tapales as they said that the odds will get lower the closer we are to the date of the fight. I know it's a shot in the dark but it's still possible that Tapales might snatch this win off of Inoue. Then again, when it comes to skill and overall punching power, Inoue is just levels above Tapales, that I think betting huge money on the Filipino to ride the odds is just insanity.

A low to medium bet seems to be apt for the matchup if you just want to watch the fight and get something to be excited with. But anything over a few hundred dollars is, IMO, just a waste.

That is really a big risk for gamblers, but I do believed that there could be some who's willing to bet big bucks to Tapales pull an upset and make them more money.

But medium bet is not that bad as well, with that kind of odds, still good to make some money before Christmas and we should thank Tapales for that.

Let's see how it goes, we are inching closer to this fight, Tapales might have been peaking in his training (not sure if he is still in the Philippines or have been in Japan for weeks not to acclimatized himself in the weather).
607  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are you Spending more or less money on Casino this Holiday season on: December 12, 2023, 09:48:33 AM
Not sure though, I haven't check it out but surely my gambling was in a flat in the last couple of months are compared to the start of the year. It's not that I'm thinking of spending less money on it, but it's time constraint on my end.

And also it's maybe did a good thing for me, as I could have save some money this holiday. But if by chance? I wouldn't slow down though even if we are close to Christmas and New Year. I guess as gamblers, we will somewhat continue what we have started and if money is not a problem, we will continue to do it no matter what is the occasion.
608  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2023-2024 betting on: December 12, 2023, 06:27:25 AM
^^ Didn't watch the game though, but I was monitoring the score and it seems that the game was close between the Nuggets and the Hawks.

But I never doubted that they will win this game with the handicap of at least -1.5. That was the bet that I put since yesterday. I thought that there were games but it seems that they have rested about the tournament that the Lakers won. I got it at 1.86, so it was a good bet with the Nuggets here.
609  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: December 11, 2023, 06:58:19 AM
Mark Magsayo won his fight at super featherweight, 130 lbs, he beat Isaac Avaler via a vicious knockout.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BXfQiPR9v_A

Although there are still some loopholes in Magsayo here, as he was open for counter. But the good thing is that he can take the punch of Avaler because he has a solid chin. But he needs to cover his face at this division because it's going to be very difficult for him if he will face fighters in the top 10.

So this person just climbed to a new division after his back to back losses to Rey Vargas and Brandon Figueroa. Although Magsayo has a powerful punch, his fighting style does have many flaws. If he wants to become a champion once more, he needs to change those bad habits.

Anyhow, it is good that he returned to the ring and won once more. Perhaps a couple of more matches and he gets a championship match. The title holders are not stable except for Navarette. But Navarrette already in his third division tenure, is beginning to exhibit some weaknesses that could be taken advantage of.

But still Navarette is solid as this division and I do not see any advantage of Mark Magsayo over the rest of the champions here. Navarette's volume and output might be too much for Magsayo and he is very open to counter and for sure Navarette will find that opening in their fight.

Joseph Cordina is a tall dude, while O'Shaquie Foster is very technical and no offense to the fans of Magsayo as I'm also a fan of him, but Foster is going to make a killing out of him if this face each other.
610  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Regis Prograis vs Devin Haney (9th of December) on: December 10, 2023, 11:59:18 PM
I want Haney to go after Ryan Garcia, and if that fight happens, I think Haney will school Garcia just like what he did against Regis here. And with that added weight, I think Haney absorb the power or Regis and then himself having the power to knock him out.

Although we really don't like the style of Haney, he seems to be very effective.

And he is also maturing and turning to be a great fighter now and he is about to hit his prime years.
611  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do you regret also for ever knowing about gambling? on: December 09, 2023, 02:59:11 AM
Yeah you read the question correctly.

I got this taught while involved in discussion with some of my friend today, it was round of friends and we were practically catching up after some old memories in high school so discussion led to discussion and the issue of regretting to ever knowing how to gamble came up and believe me it was a very serious issue as one of my friend was practically blaming the other for the whole problem is currently going through right now as he constantly gambles his money away and at what avail? was the question being asked to the friend who actually inviting him to a gambling house during highschool. The matter looks childish  at first because the whole table of friends there were all gamblers including myself but we all never reached the height of complaining or blaming someone for our gambling ethics.

So I was wondering if some folks here too feel the same way or it was just a matter of grudge and hatred for the particular fellow to stir up such arguement.

No, definitely I don't feel grudge or hatred or for someone who teaches me gambling at early age or even a high school friends. It is up to you whether you want yourself to get involved in gambling or any other vices for that matter during those days.

And that's what we call peer pressure, if you succumb to the gambling just because all your friends around are gambling then the issue is on you. Maybe one of your friend you become addicted is looking for someone to blame as to what happen in his life. He should have taken control of everything as I have said, in my opinion. And be man enough to admit your mistakes and not point to others.
612  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price guess, 2023 on: December 08, 2023, 12:17:33 PM
Quote from: Oshosondy
I am surprised that more people chose that bitcoin price before 2024 will not be more than $40000. Bitcoin highest price this year has been $38850. Let us still see if bitcoin price will increase above $40000 before next year begins. This year has been a good year for bitcoin holders. Bitcoin price started with less than $17000 this year and the market is showing bullishness at $38300.
The price has increased from $40k this month of december to $44k few hours ago and, it will be possible for investors to experience $60k before the end of this year 2023 base on the green candle light that is still showing in the market. If you look around the market very well, you will know that what happened in 2021 is about to begin next month for the price of BTC to reach $100k before the end of 2024 for many investors target to come to pass in the market.

Many people used that opportunity to buy BTC when the price was $17k  because, many people were prepared for the price of BTC to reach $17k before they can buy in this year and they succeeded to buy huge amount of BTC and hodl for this bull run to get mature before they can sell to make profits.

If Bitcoin price should continue with this positive movement of price in this last quarter of the year, we see a price of $50k at the end of the year.

Those who invested in bitcoin at its early price of about $17,000 this year are quite fortunate, and they believe a day similar to this one will arrive when their Bitcoin investment will soar past $40k before the year is up. I'm hoping they'll hodl their bitcoin until 2024 or 2025, at which point they may decide to sell some or all of their bitcoins.

Let's just say that the price could be above $40k but reaching $50k will be too much of a stretch. Although there are a lot of surprises for us in the market. Just like in the last quarter wherein there is a huge jump.

And if ever we touches $50k then it's good.

As long as we are ready, we have accumulated enough or will continue to do prior to the halving, we will be making profits come the next two years.
613  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: December 08, 2023, 09:26:22 AM
Have read that there is a rumor that has it, Canelo will be fighting Bivol in a rematch this May and it will be held in the 168-pound division. But the catch here is neither boxer would reach the 178 lbs come fight night, for me this is the same as the rehydration clause that Team Canelo is master of doing on their opponents.

What's your though on this guys, do Bivol would take the bait?

I think Bivol will take this fight, although if I'm not mistaken, he hasn't fought at 168 lbs in his career, as he is a solid and natural 175 lbs light heavyweight. But if he wanted more money and of course if the belt of Canelo is on the line then why not?

And there are also interviews ore news report before than he is willing to go down to 168 lbs in order for this fight to happen. Yes, that is rehydration clause and obviously it will have Bivol into a huge disadvantage to the point that we might say that will still be weight drain during fight night.

Congrats and keep pushing for it in your government to adopt Bitcoin and who knows, maybe your country will be the next one to make it legalized?

So best wishes, I know it's going to be a tough road for you and others in Niger, but as you have said, there is light at the end of the tunnel and keep striving. I remember India as well, wherein there are several bitcoiners trying also to push it in the last 3-4 years as well.

There are those who complain (beginner/newbie/people who are struggling to rise in rank) about their hard work on the bitcointalk forum, because their expectations are not as smooth as expected, Roll Eyes indeed the cycle of luck is place=>ability=>readiness=>opportunity=>achievement.

Please tell me, is luck not included in the travel category? I mean this, established accounts example's suddenly left, for me his profile reflects producing the best merit in the three years when it was first created. Example two makes me very confused. I'm not talking about reputation but about decision-making when all users are familiar with him.

Please tell me, what are the regulations in your country that trigger this kind of thing?
Is the bitcointalk account too public?
I am very curious about this condition, they are great people.

I so regret that because of the two different conditions and the two sides that have been achieved, I have a lot of time to wonder to myself Wink if there are reasons about the state or certain regulations may require people to take compliance, and I regret it very much.

Well we can only speculate why those two distinguished members leave the community and others. Maybe they have their personal reasons or just feed up on what is going on with the community, specially the latest one that our dear administrator Theymos has to say about mixer here. We might or might not agree with this decision, and perhaps those who are not agreement chooses to just go out moving forward with their lives outside of the forum, simply as that.

I'm not sure that luck has something to do with it though, yeah they got a lot of merits but so are others who are still here.
616  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: December 07, 2023, 07:57:32 PM
A couple of good tournament games on today and they’re both televised. The first game is on ESPN and the second on TNT. I think the Bucks can beat the Pacers but the Pelicans game with the Lakers might be a toss up. Brandon Ingram has been on fire lately and he always plays well against his former team. LeBron really wants to win this tournament though, so I think it’ll come down to LeBron vs Giannis.

Yes, this is going to be a tough one but I will also say that the Bucks might take the game and win and beat the Pacers. They have all the momentum, from their last game wherein Giannis and Lillard had a great game.

Although nothing can be taken for granted, Haliburton's triple double, but I think Lillard can negate those numbers and he can go 1:1 against him. While on the other hand it's hard to stop Giannis specially in a big game like this.
617  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling sites and current transactions fee on: December 07, 2023, 10:51:25 AM
Now the gambling site was in the trouble because of the high transaction fee by the exchanges like the Binance. It was unacceptable one for the gambler to pay 26 dollars to withdraw funds from the Binance.Being a gambler,my opinion is to hold till the money in the exchange itself.Surely we get the profit from the gambling site,if we follow some techniques in the gambling site. But my point is why we need to pay the exchange fee of 26 dollars for the single transaction.

My decision may be seems revolutionary one,but the fact is the same transaction fee will be reduced when the market back to the bear standard. The bull run give huge dollars to the trader who hold from the 31k market price of the bitcoin.I had some arguments with my friends with whom we meet on every weekend. They also had the opinion of hold their money in the exchange till the market fee back to the normal one.So what your standard for the current transaction fee of bitcoin.

I would agree that this is not to be expected by any bitcoin related services, like exchanges and online gambling sites. But it's what it is right now, nevertheless I believed that the high fees can't sustain this kind of run, I mean it was obvious that this is a deliberate attack on the mempool by some entities or the people behind Ordinal or whatever you call it.

I don't see that being back in the bear market will reduce the fees, again the reason for the increased is the whole ordinal thing. If they will simply stop then we will be back to normal with less than 5 sat/vB to make a good transaction and be included in the next block.
618  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Sentiment Poll for December on: December 07, 2023, 08:42:39 AM
I'd bet the lack of increase in the interest rates has played a role in this rise though. The bonds market, even though profitable, is losing its bling and FED is not about to rise the rates until July which would make it 11 months of stability (last rise was in August) so we may see a continued rise all through the first quarter of 2024 at least.

Yeah, possible and maybe those who got their Christmas bonus and paycheck could have invested it on bitcoin right now. And still though, the noise behind a possible Bitcoin spot ETF approval could be another factor.

P.S. having a halving! is going to be a big contribution to that rise too.

This will be the catalyst for the eventual bull run. Many are in the FOMO mode right now, doesn't want to miss it out so as early as December someone will have to stack sats in his wallet before the halving and just watch it grow.

Bitcoin has a maximum potential in the digital currency world, yet it can also be of the overall leading coin in the crypto world who's ranking can never be equivalent to others. Bitcoin can be of a use not just now but also in the future that is why it has a five star ranking in the crypto world.
The way things are moving around the nation, which has not yet had an impact on cryptocurrencies, will soon do so in light of the promising future that lies ahead.

Not really sure what you meant here, but since Bitcoin started the whole crypto currency movement, yeah is the leading and the prime mover. However, you have to think that not every nation in the world is pro-bitcoin, there could still be some of them who see the negative, hence they totally ban it.

But for us who have been a crypto enthusiast, it's a game changer, other become crypto millionaire specially those early adopters.

And then there's the financial freedom that we are enjoying right because of how some of us become financially knowledgeable and we have our bitcoin investment and make money specially in the next bull run.
