In some parts of the world this thing isn't even an issue, and are being used for medical purposes. Don't disrespect those who need it by saying it's a poison.

This.

Nobody is judging those of you who don't for not smoking. Considering alcohol/tobacco/caffeine all have more debilitating longterm effects, no need to be judging folks.

(And I'm not judging any of the above; I am a caffeine addict no question, I quit smoking cigarettes 2-3 years ago but smoked for almost 20 years, and I drink on the regular Smiley )

I see references to both S3 and S5, do the kits also work on an S3? I actually have a few of those!

Yes, but you also need to purchase an S5 or aftermarket BB board, which costs around $50-100.
604  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] Bitmain $125 off Coupons! Save $ on your next order! on: November 27, 2017, 12:14:34 AM
Did they run out of PSU's and give us these coupons? Idk which PSU orders they may have canceled and not sure whether I need to order more PSUs from them now..

I don't think so. They sent me one at the same time they sent the shipping confirmation for my psu. I think it's either that the late Nov crop of D3s are delayed or it's a black friday thing?

Photos of equipment with username and date and do you accept escrow?

None of the above will result in a red flag as looks like a scam.

I'm not selling anything. Read the rest of the thread, it's neither a sale nor a scam, it was an attempt to pool resources (which, due to the most recent information, seems almost entirely improbable at this point anyway).

My mistake sorry Lips sealed

No worries! I was informed that there's actually a group buy forum, so it's in the wrong place anyway. Smiley

On a mildly related note, the blockchain for CannabisCoin is taking forEVER to sync/download. It's almost like the code itself is too high.
607  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: Hotmine X5/X6 upgrade for antminer S5/S3 on: November 22, 2017, 04:53:45 AM
They told me min 60 to the USA.

That still seems somewhat implausible without a farm buying a large number and then selling us extras.

Which actually isn't a terrible idea. Anyone know a farm that has a bunch of S5s that may want to upgrade?
608  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Is there any cryptocurrency which can be mined with a laptop? on: November 22, 2017, 02:11:14 AM
Mining with a laptop can be done but results will not be satisfactory.
My advice should not be using a laptop as it will making the laptop hot faster which resulted in the laptop being damaged.

Unless it's a throw away. I have two old netbooks from the early hackintosh days that I will take to the local coffee shop with me, plug in, and let mine Bytecoin for free because why not?

hide them in the ceilings

Got an email back from them--their minimum to ship to the UK (possibly a typo? either way, assume the same) is 200 pieces. So yeah. I don't see us putting that together.
611  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Whats the best mining pool for Cannabiscoin (CANN) on: November 21, 2017, 11:22:46 PM
Hi !
You can always try at ezpool.net.

stratum+tcp://eu.ezpool.net:5577
Username: your_cannabiscoin_address
pass : x

I made this pool for myself and I still mine on it.

It has VERY low rejects, much lower then I had on other pools.
Right now we have more then 200Gh on cannabis coin, I think it speaks for itself.

What is your payout system, threshold, and pool percentage?

Hi,
I uploaded your file and getting hard Untar error while doing the Flash image. Do you know why? I have this one that I downloaded from your link.

Thanks

EDIT--or not, see below. Smiley

I don't see any weed smokers pressuring anyone to try it, but considering the volume of people who just keep repeating "not good for health", if you're not providing any arguments, sources, or facts, why would anyone listen to you? No offense, genuine question; if I just kept posting over and over again "bitcoin is immoral" and provided no context or sources, would you even care much less think "hmm, maybe he's right"?

Nicehash Fee
Payouts for balances less than 0.1 to external BTC wallet (4%)

(4%)  Angry Daily

Do you know if any other mining server which accepts Litecoin ?

You can just mine Litecoin and sell it on an exchange.

And the 4% thing is only if you want to be paid daily to an external wallet; if you mine to a Nicehash wallet and pay out from it once in a while, the actual overall percentage is around 2.6 I think (they have a spreadsheet breakdown of fees on their site). For the difference in what you're paid AND in comparison to mining a coin, paying those fees., then selling for bitcoin on an exchange and paying THOSE fees, the Nicehash fees are pretty reasonable.

I live in Colorado where recreational weed is totally legal.  You can just go to any number of legal recreational weed dispensaries and buy it - all legal.

What are your experiences so far with the new law? Do you see positive or negative changes to society?

I live in Oregon where it is also legal. I have not noticed or read about any significant negative changes to our state. In fact, most studies I've read have shown no real positive or negative impact from the law in Oregon, Washington, Alaska, or Colorado (there's not much current data on other states yet since they passed the laws so recently). No noticeable increases in DUI arrests, intoxication related car fatalities (though people will claim there has been an increase OR a decrease, depending on who you ask and how they feel about the law), and no increase in crime statistics. Culturally, not much has changed either, other than searches and police harassment dropping off quite a bit.

As for the few definite benefits, while not a huge percentage of the state's budget, Oregon's tax revenue generated by marijuana sales goes to schools, police, and drug rehab programs. And every cop I know or have talked to is thankful for it, as at least here in the city it has relaxed some tensions and freed up manpower to fight actual crime. Granted, I know four cops and one retired one, so that's not nearly enough data to be more than an anecdote, but that's been my experience.

I don't understand why people want to smoke and why the government made it legal... could somebody explain it to me?

Not an unreasonable question to ask, but perhaps start by asking why it is/was illegal in the first place, why people want to drink coffee or alcohol, etc. As for the government part, they made it legal because the people of the state voted for it. It wasn't their decision, it was ours.
616  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: ASIC or GPU mining? on: November 21, 2017, 07:36:56 AM
I would not use GPU because u will miss your internet bandwidth for the little profit from it. I have a baikal mini i love it, a antminer U3 63gh batch 2 and 3 gridseed g-blades I wish i had more hashing power but these are not bad.

Internet bandwith? I'm running two gpu rigs and neither uses any more bandwith than my ASIC (none of them use a noticeable amount). My rigs certainly cost more than my L3+ and make less per day, but they also will continue to make the same amount for far longer than an ASIC.
617  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Is "whattomine.com" owned by Nicehash?? ALwasy on TOP but this scam pays shit on: November 21, 2017, 12:58:03 AM

My A2 farm has spent 2-3 months straight pointed at Nicehash, as the payouts have consistantly been higher than mining anything else directly on Scrypt - even after factoring in the "loss" of getting switched around frequently by the marketplace and the Nicehash fee structure.

I keep WANTING to switch back over to LinX or LiteCoin (especially LC) because I do think both coins will grow in value eventually, but right now I'm just trying to pay off the cards I used to buy my new GPU rig, and the L3+ is helping for your exact reason, it just keeps earning more daily, and since I'll be cashing it out before too long (and Bitcoin keeps going up in value anyway)...
618  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Electroneum Mining (not getting paid) on: November 21, 2017, 12:53:12 AM
Unfortunately no, my pool dashboard show i've been paid, but I have nothing in my wallet. I've checked and double checked the address is correct and that the wallet is synced

Exactly what happened with my first test payment. I'm still holding my balance in the pool until I know for sure it's sorted.

How are you planning on sorting it, and which pool are you using?

Suprnova (see previous posts). I've been in touch with them already about it and they don't know what's wrong. It may be a problem with the blockchain or the wallet software, check the official electroneum dev blog, there was some security issue a bit back and there's a sort of lockdown happening. I'm not sure whether that's related to my problem or not, but until they post that it's solved I'm not attempting another withdrawal from SN.

(Also as per my posts above, the pool page did disappear for a bit, but it's back up now, and my balance hasn't changed there)
619  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do you smoke weed? on: November 21, 2017, 12:48:35 AM
I'm more an edibles guy, but yes. I tend to lean towards vape pens when smoking (not oil based ones, ones that you put flower into). I find I can control how much I am getting way easier than with joints or oils, so I don't end up in that "too high, can't think straight" kind of place.

I also live in a state where it is legal (Oregon), so I'm not taking any risks or anything...
620  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: ASIC or GPU mining? on: November 21, 2017, 12:38:14 AM
ASIC= loudness but no problem with configure hardware
GPUs= quiet but many technical problems

i think for beginners better will be ASIC.

I use EthOS for my gpu rigs, I have had zero technical problems on my side (I have had some rare poolside problems with newer coins, but that's to be expected every now and again). Not an advert for them, I just like the OS. It IS $40/rig, but I like that it's upfront and not monthly, and having started by trying to build linux distros myself for my first rig, I am much, much happier with the plug and play nature of it. You don't even need to know much Linux/Unix, there is a very simple commands guide that is pretty much all you need...

I have heard good things about other mining OSes as well, not saying EthOS is better or worse than any of them, just that I never seem to have any technical issues with GPUs. But you are right, if you just want to mine simply and in one pool in a "set it and forget it" way, then ASICs are definitely the way to go. Plus it's easier to use them as space heaters.
