My Megacoin client crashes all the time. I've downloaded the enitre block chain again a few times. Reinstalled the client again, and so on. I can receive coins and after a while it complains that cannot write to a block file, and I can start all over again with the chain. Tried to send a coin and the same error occurs. Restarted the client, tried the same and now it was okay (Tequilablob just got a whole free coin!).
But these crashes happen way too much. What can cause that? Or what could solve it? Anynone know?

I did notice the network hashrate hasn't been below 100Mh/s since the value stopped dropping. Can't really say what has changed really. It's all a matter between the ears? |

Don't stop mining now! I'm amazed at how many people have moved away from MEC - I'm not giving up - and I'm still looking for dedicated miners on gr33k.gotdns.org. I've fixed the stats updating delay too  Delay? My stats are updated even before I start mining But really, great job. You have the fastest pool around. For me at least. Why would you sell now when we are so close to next halving and update?
That's rather a bad move.
Ehh... I sold my Infinite Coins and bought MΣC. Or is the Infinite Coin near a halving? Would it even matter for that coin? I doubt the halving of MΣC would matter much. The previous halving also halved the price and it's still going down slowly. And updates are nice but only for those directly involved in mining, as they are most aware of the changes. I wonder if it will have any impact on the exchanges. The long term effect might be different, but that effect is slow and might also be halved because if the downwards spiral of the value. What's really needed is a wider acceptance, by investors but also markets and services that accept MΣC |

Lots of happy people and that's good. I'm not worried about the short term effect of the multipools, just worried about the long term. Eventually you'll need more then a handfull of loyal followers. You''ll need a crowd and you are not going to convince a crowd with long block finding times and slow transactions. Oh well, dunno. Just worried that the same kind of thing might happen that happened to the Craftcoin. That's being rescued by a handfull of followers, but it lost the crowd a while ago. Hate to see something like that happen.
I'm not to optimistic about the value either. It's a bargain now, and I think it will be a bargain for a while to come. Not saying that I don't benefit of the low pricing. Traded millions of Infinite coins for MΣC and practically doubled my amount of MΣC. Not anywhere near 100K but fine, I've got some.
I don't have a clue what to make of Kimoto's post, but I'll buckle up and see where the ride goes.
Also, not mining again for a few days, but I'll be back in the saddle early next week

ethought's pool isn't the one for me. Don't know what it is, but I don't seem to get half the amount of MΣC there that I get in other pools. Tried it on two days, see if I could get the 1000 reward, but I just ended up with less. I'm fine with the other pools so I'll stick to those.
But this is once again one of those multipool issues then? Nice..
Guess Kimoto has something to think about then: let the situation be where multipools and the like throw in a lot of hashes, but only for a short while until another coin becomes more profitable, and have the difficulty solved by more dedicated followers. But that situation only works as long as those followers don't give up. Without new blocks found, that's rather a weak link in the chain.

Cause in two other pools there's no new blocks since a long while. Your pool may have found some, but considering the hashing power active there, it's not much. Compare the last 50 blocks, 15th versus the 16th.

I did. Nearly 200 MΣC rolled in today from http://gr33k.gotdns.org, which is still the best pool for me. I fact, I shared half of those with gr33k, small token of my appreciation for the work he has done. |

http://crc.xpool.net:8830 has been updated to version 1.1.4. This pool has been running from the start and has never gone down outside of maintenance. Throwing 2.3 Mh/s at it now. My humble apologies to CartmanSPC and TreasureSeeker about my earlier statement that most pools are dead and gone. My bold statement applies to most pools where I had an account. I was generalizing way too much. Congrats on the new block! |

Quick note: The current (version) status of all of the known CRC pools is unknown at this time.
Well, most pools are dead or gone. Only pool left that I can find is crc.scryptmining.com. No clue whether that's up to date. I tried to set up my own pool with the new source, but think my CentOS server doesn't have all the required bits and pieces to compile this thing, and I don't know what's needed. Not willing to experiment too much, as it's a production server. |

Spent almost three hours mining at +800Kh/s and still my account balance (account mret) and other counters say 0 mec. Dunno if there's a biggish delay in those stats (though somewhere you mention 1 hour), but I'll leave it at that for now.
