Question: If everybody agrees, at this time we can push out a short term fix. I make no guarantees that the difficulty won't get jacked up again, but at this point I just want the coin to move again and don't see a long term solution coming.
Yes, "band-aid" the coin.
No, thats a waste of time. Wait for a solid fix.

I will send another transaction with 20CRC in fees when I go home for lunch in order to keep the pot sweet for the miners.

BAM diff coming down. Wink

Right effectively, the payout per hash is now doubled, since 10 CRC "costs" only half as much hashing power.  In fact, 9336 was a low difficulty block relative to the 9335, so the diff is already dropped.

The next change is at 9348.

ok boys and girls the network is rolling nicely BUT we have less miners than we did prior to the fix!  i'm guessing allot of you did not switch to the new client... get on it!

I alone am doing 2000+ Khash and that is almost 1/2 of the network and crc.scryptmining is doing well over 1/2 at 3000+ Khash when you add mine!

WE NEED SOME MINERS!!!

The target for 12 blocks is 3600 seconds

Diff: 2.6
9371: 11:21:25
9360: 11:18:18

Time: 187 seconds (16 seconds per block)

(way to fast, so diff doubled)

Diff: 5.3
9383: 14:01:31
9372: 11:21:47
Time: 9584 seconds (13 mins per block)

(to slow so diff halved)

Diff: 2.6
9395: 14:26:31
9384: 14:22:53
Time: 218 seconds (18 seconds per block)

(way to fast, so diff doubled)

Diff: 5.3
9407: 14:44:03
9396: 14:26:42
Time: 1041 (1.4 mins per block)

Diff: 10.7

(to fast, so diff doubled)

Both times the diff dropped to 2.6, the hash rate increased a lot.  This suggests some of the coin choosing pools are adding hashing power when the diff drops.

Ironically, this might push the difficulty up past 20 again Smiley.  This suggests that it was the stall risk, not the underlying value that caused the drop in hashing power.

I pointed my measly 840Kh at it overnight, found 2 blocks. Unfortunately this coin is still listed on sites that give certain pools the go ahead to come and devour the coin until it hits a high enough difficulty again. If we could ask these sites to kindly take the coin off of their lists, this may not still solve the problem. The problem is we need more cheer-leading and advertising to get steady miners back on the scene.

Well, they are providing a service.

Coinchoose has a leaderboard.

Craftcoin mining is currently 185% as profitable as bitcoin.

Nanotoken is 1000% as profitable.  However, the 2nd to 10th are around 300-350%.

That seems the standard range.  This means that the "natural" difficulty is around 5.  If difficulty is 5 or less, then there will be lots of hashing.

I tried another "bonus" transaction fee.  I wonder if sites like coinchoose take that into account.

No they don't because they just calculate based on current difficulty and market price
