Flood the network? His txs very likely will not confirm, and most nodes would "ban" him for a while.

And one more....

This is easy it's the bitcoin logo  Grin
I can only see half of the number 9, but not B. I think we all have to accept that some people wont be able to view these. I'm personally a bit colorblind on the protan(some reds) and some greens side.
604  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin, btcd and Golang on: August 29, 2014, 11:17:57 PM
http://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/2exd3e/bitcoin_btcd_and_golang/

This is a video from a combined event between the Austin Bitcoin Meetup and Austin Go Language User Group.

There are three parts:

Part 1 is an introduction to Bitcoin by Marco Peereboom, and probably doesn't offer much to readers of this subreddit.

Part 2 explains the business reasons why Conformal decided to switch from C to Go.

Part 3 is Dave Collins's presentation on btcd's architecture and use of Golang features.

Part 3 is notable in that Dave decribes the weaknesses of Go in addition to its strengths, and how they mitigate them.

PDF copies of the presentations are available here:

https://github.com/ATXBTC/Presentations

PS: The Austin Bitcoin Meetup will be conducting similar events with the local Python, Javascript, C, Java, etc user groups. If you're a developer of a relevant project and would like to participate, contact us.
The audio quality of the videos is horrible. It's as if it was shot in 3GP or some low-bitrate format.

Gotta agree, I ain't seeing anything either. At least give us a hint if we have to run it by some software to get the output.
606  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Russians hack JP Morgan Chase banks, steal gigabytes of databases on: August 29, 2014, 02:23:18 PM
Your post comes off as very biased, it can be argued that banks are getting hacked because of technology, BTC is a technology therefore implying the same can happen but more effectively as we wouldn't only be losing information....
Yes, and I bet you there are have been far more bitcoin-related hacks where bitcoins were lost, than hacks at banks.

wrong
i guess you have not known about the 200 years of pick pocketting.
i guess you have not known about the 200 years of bank heists.
i guess you have not known about the decade of card cloning.
i guess you have not known about the years of chargeback scamming.

good luck adding up all the FIAT theft
Wrong. We are talking about today, the Internet, and internet-related hacks.
607  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and me (Hal Finney) on: August 29, 2014, 12:45:44 AM
I don't understand why people talk as if he's dead. He is pronounced clinically dead, but it's not like his body has decayed beyond possible future resuscitation. He is alive, in fact, right now, he is immortal.

609  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: C++ CG/SGminer API calls? on: August 28, 2014, 12:35:12 PM
CGminer includes a file called api.c, it exports some functions you use in your project to call the cgminer APIs, if you want to do it yourself you will need to learn about sockets.
610  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Mining revenue x5 after switching to a different mining pool, possible? on: August 28, 2014, 03:14:38 AM
Are you sure it's not some glitch with the pool? It could turn out later that it was a glitch and you will be credited accordingly. Other than that, not sure why you would get higher payouts, 500gh/s is now like...a very small amount of hashing power.

612  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Proof bitcoin price is nothing but a massive speculative bubble on: August 26, 2014, 02:57:12 PM
Pay no attention to this troll. It's obvious it's some long time member creating a fake account to spread fud.
613  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [2014-08-25] All the truth about DOGE on: August 25, 2014, 08:03:05 PM
The DogeCoin madness started in December, 2013, when the cryptocurrency was released. Everyone thought it will be the next big thing, the new Bitcoin. Unfortunately, it couldn’t live up to the expectations of crypto fans around the world. In spite of people’s enthusiasm, the Portland script-based cryptocurrency was poorly crafted from the very beginning.

Script-based? Do you even know the difference between scrypt and script? One has a 'y' the other an 'i'. And both mean something else.
614  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Like DNS for your wallet address - wantsBTC.com on: August 24, 2014, 06:53:16 PM
I thought people wanted more privacy not tying their name to their wallet address.
615  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Secure private address inside application on: August 24, 2014, 02:17:57 PM
I'm beginning to worry this can't be done. Is it possible for a standalone application to store a private address from which to spend without that being available to anyone that reverse-engineers the code?
If it's in memory it can be obtained.

There is C++14 now btw.

619  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Even us *legendary* members were *newbies* once on: August 20, 2014, 11:19:08 PM
What determines our rank? Number of posts? Hours logged in? Date joined?
I believe it's either posts or activity. If it's posts it's definitely somewhere above 2400, for activity somewhere above 1000.
620  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Even us *legendary* members were *newbies* once on: August 20, 2014, 09:06:55 PM
I would have to agree with OP, I've been a member since 2011, but I am not very intimate with the Bitcoin protocol.
