I really can't believe my eyes seeing people jumping into "replace non-delivered gen #1 with gen #2" business.

I think its not the best idea too since even when they are delivered in 2 months and the GH is half the price of a GH of gen1 you would make an even worse trade since the difficulty will then be 150 to 200 percent higher which means you would have less than before.

That depends on spec doesn't it? I may have missed something here. Has that been confirmed?

No one cares about backwards Europe who still believes in the divine right of kings. Europe is a sludge hole of collectivist and politically-correct filth. Come over here and get Piers Morgan while your at it.

The last part I will agree with you on, keep him, we don't f**king what that slimeball back. He is possibly the most hated individual in the UK, god know who, or why,or how much has been spent to convince the US he should be given airtime, of for that matter, air.

No integrity whatsoever. Kind of like an ex-Lehman's bond seller.

Let the discussion of the Avalon Refund commence!

Someone is discussing the possibility of having Avalon ship us the Gen 2 chips instead but that would require extra work from guys like BKK, although the chips are supposedly very similar in design.

Have you got a source from where this is being discussed? I'd happily take gen 2 chips!

ppl are fast getting sick of this chinky cunt,
wouldnt be surprised if a group buy on silk road puts his head on a spike very soon.

No need to lower yourself to talks of racism and violence, Avalon will get what they deserve based on the lack of trust..
Nothing about that comment is  may not have been the group purchasers or it may be the purchasers just not in the time-frame they were expecting.

The phrase "chinky" is not racist !!?

You think he would have come in and addressed some of people's issues!

Someone needs to keep ringing him until he picks up, surely someone has a number for him?

Things need addressing and I understand that the huge amount of comments can be a bit over whelming, an idea would be to set up a Skype call/ Google hangout between him and the group buyers.
606  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Get a REFUND from Yifu for Avalon chips on: August 09, 2013, 06:44:22 PM
A refund on it's own, wont fix the problem.  Some of us have paid for fabrication, and others have given up their jobs to build these devices.

I'm all for compromises too.  Yifu could just walk away from it all, and let the company fold.  That's no good for the community either.

Chips now + partial refund + 2nd gen chips at cost.

Best outcome for everyone!

Assemblers dont lose money on parts/equipment
Everyone gets a good deal
People's faith in Avalon is restored!

I thought about sueing avalon but it would be pointless. The time the judge made his decision the chips are worth zero. So we are at some point at the mercy of Yifu. Of course if all is lost and he not even wants to pay a refund we have to sue him.

Admit it that you are afraid, community would provide you all needed funds to hire best lawyers and stuff.
Who cares about the chips, there is many more mirrions to be won at court

Remember it? the "I don't control that" address.
There are some serious money to be taken, and if this thing would go public we would possibly achieve a deal breaker for Ex-banker (Phoenix) and chinese liar (Yifu).
The investor wouldn't trust such a scumbag if it goes public and he would be aware who he is going to take care of his investment.
Yifu deserves it, so the whole bitcoin community to stop this preorder madness.

This is one of the things that surprises me about the deal that is supposedly taking place, surely the investor would have done some digging, seen a lot of these sorts of threads and realised that all is not as rosey as the bank balance is suggesting.

It's hardly like there are loads of BTC forums, simply Googling his Yifu's name brings up a few "alarming" ones.
608  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [Group Buy] Avalon ASIC Chips (SebastianJu) Batch 6 ordered (Closed) on: August 09, 2013, 03:57:25 PM
Hahaha, unless we were offered the ability to "trade in" our generation 1 chips in return for very heavily discounted generation 2, I would not touch Avalon again with a barge pole!

609  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [Group Buy] Avalon ASIC Chips (SebastianJu) Batch 6 ordered (Closed) on: August 09, 2013, 03:41:09 PM
i am not very technical, but does anyone know if Burnin's boards would work with any of the 2nd gen chips? That would be a 3rd option, I might be chatting nonsense here, again, I know little about electronics.
610  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [Group Buy] Avalon ASIC Chips (SebastianJu) Batch 6 ordered (Closed) on: August 09, 2013, 03:17:27 PM
I personally would vote for a refund, but only if i knew i could get some of the assembly fees back as well.
I'd feel shitty asking for an assembler to refund all my money, they are innocent bystanders in all of this and have likely spent money on boards, equipment etc.
611  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Incoming Avalon News 8/9/2013 on: August 09, 2013, 02:05:59 PM
Anyone got a contact number for him?
612  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [OPEN] - GROUP BUY of BITFURY Chips + DRILLBIT SYSTEM mining assembly on: August 09, 2013, 09:03:20 AM
I am looking at this as a way to expand on the ASIC miners that I'll probably end up receiving later than this stuff ships!

I am going to be running my rig off a Raspberry Pi, usb hub and CGminer

Will I be able to run my current ASIC set up of 20 Burnins & 2 Klondike 16s and the Drillbit off the same hub, having them all hashing away together using the same worker?

613  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Incoming Avalon News 8/9/2013 on: August 09, 2013, 08:54:43 AM
People should keep their lawsuits etc out of this thread, and just have it serve the purpose of educating people about the pitfalls of dealing with Avalon again.

If people stop buying their products, they'll quickly learn what needs to be done to appease the community.
614  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Incoming Avalon News 8/9/2013 on: August 09, 2013, 08:06:23 AM
Terrible PR from Avalon! They brush the issues under the table and then rub salt into the wounds, announcing new, improved products.

Anyone would be stupid to not know that these chips would be quickly outdated, that is how mining BTC is going, but I personally was going to reinvest the money in new tech once i broke even, now with my chips probably arriving after the new generation chips this is not going to be possible.

As has been mentioned multiple times in this and other threads, if this was any other product there would be outrage!

I know one thing for sure, I wont be buying new chips from them, even if i don't have to pre order

Trust is an important factor in any expensive purchase and I have 0% trust for them now.
