601  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: THE INVESTOR'S CRYPTO | Cryptogenic Bullion | CGB on: March 27, 2014, 07:54:55 AM
EVERYONE MUST READ THIS...

http://pastebin.com/eLkPxLWi

I think this discussion doesn't belong here. IF it is even true. CGB doesn't even trade at cryptorush.in

Only lesson people should learn from it is this: don't keep your coins on an exchange. I myself keep the majority of my coins in my private wallets, and at most 25% of it is on the exchanges if I want to trade. Whenever I make a profit on a trade, I transfer this profit to my wallet.

I don't get why anyone would keep any coins on exchanges when we know how likely they are to get hacked or simply run away with the coins. With coins like CGB it makes even less sense when you can have the coins in your wallet generating proof of stake blocks.
602  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Whats do developers winn with altcoins with no premine? on: March 26, 2014, 09:14:33 PM
You don't want the bad publicity that the premine is. So instead of premine you design the coin so you can get an massive instamine.

Take darkcoin as an example. There is no premine. But the block rewards decline very fast, starting with 500 and already down to 20 in just over 2 months. If it had been fair the block size would have been constant at 20. But because of the design there is now mined 3,821,814 coins instead of 809,800.

So there you got. 3 million coins instamined for the devs/early adopters, and they can advertise without lying that the coin had 0 premine.
603  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BITCOIN VS ETHEREUM on: March 24, 2014, 10:22:34 PM
Its just a fancy scam.

Hahaha. I will come back to this thread in some years and I will laugh again,.

Not if you jump of a bridge because you lost a lot of money investing in this scam. Time will tell.  Smiley

607  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Official Anoncoin chat thread (including history) on: March 24, 2014, 07:00:29 PM

Could you give a synopsis of the article, since most of us can't don't speak Polish.

You should try Google Chrome. It comes with an translater that starts every time you come to a non english/your language website. It translates polish and chinese as far as i have tried.  Smiley
608  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BITCOIN VS ETHEREUM on: March 24, 2014, 06:55:02 PM
Its just a fancy scam.
609  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ✠ The Official AltCoin WhiteList ➢ For Real Coins☆With Real Devs☆With Real Goals on: March 23, 2014, 06:25:38 PM
This is the most worthless and misleading thread ever.  Smiley
610  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: CoinMarketCap.com - Market Cap Rankings of All Cryptocurrencies! on: March 22, 2014, 09:43:34 PM
Based on feedback:

I added a disclaimer for significantly premined coins, and updated the formatting for prices in BTC (will now show in Satoshis), and also right aligned number columns.

https://www.cryptorush.in/index.php?p=trading&m=APH&b=BTC

aphrodite coin on cryptorush, please add!

Updated thanks.

The disclaimer is not enough --- you're presenting inaccurate numbers and for those people who are using your site for information it's misleading and disingenuous. It encourages massive pump and dumps of these coins (which is obviously what the creators want) that loses a lot of people a lot of money, but more importantly, taints the cryptoworld and hurts every coin in the long run.

You either need to filter them out by default or calculate the market cap based upon the non pre-mined coins, because everyone knows that if all the coins were on the market the price would be way way less.

Otherwise, your site has zero credibility.

Would you use a new page that showed rankings based on coins in circulation?  So the formula would be Market Cap = (Total Supply - Number Premined) * price

I don't think it would be accurate to call that market cap though, we'd need a different name for it.

You can call it market cap coins in circulation.

Market Cap = (Total Supply - Number not in circulation) * price

For auroacoin: (10,627,476 - 10,500,000) * 15,44 = 1,968,229
611  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is the Maxcoin fork a new trend? Cut reward in 1/2 and double price? on: March 21, 2014, 05:30:08 PM
It's pretty pathetic. As if the scam wasn't big enough already. But yeah, it seems to be a new trend. Instamine --> reduce rewards. Maxcoin are doing it, darkcoin have started a new thread voting over a potential huge decrease, and it is discussed in many other threads.
612  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Official Anoncoin chat thread (including history) on: March 21, 2014, 04:04:56 PM
@cryptonewbie and drAGon925

I totally agree that they should be more active. That would increased the community significantly and also the anticipation of the zerocoin implementation. The altcoin section is a jungle and there don't seem to be much awareness of anoncoin. It is much harder to find a thread that is only bumped a few times every week, and even if you go trough it, this thread lacks the entusiasm and promise of great riches most threads delivers. Just look at the darkcoin thread which is the exact opposite.

But I love the irony.
613  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Official Anoncoin chat thread (including history) on: March 21, 2014, 03:45:00 PM
We need more updates from the Anononcoin team about the project.  Very little information exchanged in this thread.

As opposed to almost all other coins where pumping and hyping is the main focus. Smiley

You get some updates on twitter if you follow @AnoncoinProject.

614  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Operation Shitcoin Cleanout and Clean Up Has Begun- Join the Revolution on: March 21, 2014, 01:26:28 PM
My guess is that there is a lot of small miners willing to give up a few days of mining to join a pool looking to destroy coins.

The beauty with this project is that you only have to take out a few coins, the rest will crumble in fear. No one will hold coins that might become useless overnight. When the fear sets in coins will be dumped, buy orders will vanish, prices will crash and hashpower move to the established coins leaving the shitcoins weak and dieing.

So what you are saying is that terrorism is a key component to this plan?

i guess the guy is too young to realise threatening people and damaging their property because they don't like it is a criminal offence.

holdings in cryptocurrency may not fit the definition of "property"

And if cryptocurrency is to reach mass adoption and have real world use they have to be secure. If coins can be destroyed as easy as some claim, then they shouldn't exist at all. And to put money in them is just stupid. I honestly belive this is great for crypto currency as a whole. The strongest will survive and prosper.

The only hope for small miners to ever gain anything from their mining is to mine new and non-established coins. Why would they want to get rid of small coins so they can start competing with gigahash farmers mining litecoin?

To increase the value of their btc/ltc holding.

Now if we formed a pool, that is entirely a different matter. All we need is people to commit and someone who knows how to manage a pool.

funnily enough thats half of battlecoins plans I think  Smiley

Battlecoin is SHA-256.
618  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I'll get 7800€ of one of my accounts. Why should I buy your coin? on: March 20, 2014, 07:01:37 PM
75% bitcoin, 15% litecoin and 10% peercoin.

Really impressed by the new website. Well done!
620  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Visualisation of the CryptoCurrencies by Trade Volume. on: March 20, 2014, 02:38:19 PM
Very nice. Would have been better to use a 7 day avg. volum, but still very impressive.

A general "investment rule". Don't buy shit without volume.
