601  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ★ ZEIT ★ [COMMUNITY & KNIGHTS] [ULTRA LOW INFLATION] on: June 26, 2018, 04:20:39 PM
Enter this altcoin simply because those who created it did it with the same train of thought and philosophy of the zeitgeist movement, 4 years later I'm still here for the same reason, I do not care what you believe, it's your problem, not mine, I'm activist of the MZ since 2009, not for peter joseph or for fresh jacque, I am for the Economic Model Based on Resources, what interests me are the ideas not the individuals, I see in zeitcoin more potential than in bitcoin to support the transition and it is an open source project that is worth supporting.

The good thing about the zeitgeist movement is that it is based on rational consensus, so today we can decide one thing n joint and tomorrow we can decide another, that moves us away from dogmatism. the zeitcoin is the same when it started assuring that it would be POS 5% and then the community decided to move to ULI, in the same way the MZ works if the community starts adopting zeitcoin is by own decision. the more people join in better.
and if this is the Zeitcoin forum ... within the BTC forum.

Now that we have measured our fingers, I have some ideas to spread the zeitcoin, (experience of 10 years of viral activism in the Zeitgeist Movement), for example we could use thunderclap and generate a "Zday-Coin_event" ... what do you think?

That we can agree an economic model based on resources is a good thing.

As far as a ZDAY-COIN_EVENT, that is up to you and anyone else willing to make it happen.

Make your pitch and we'll see if anyone is interested.

This is the ZEITCOIN forum, not a zeitgeist forum,

there are no ties between ZEITCOIN and the zeitgeist what so ever, and their should be no pretense that their is.

The original dev attempted to contact their leaders and they told him to shove off as they saw no point to crypto in general.

Reason is their corrupt leaders saw no way to make money off of it at that time, now they accept donations in bitcoin.

So if people don't want to hear what I think about the zeitgeist and their B.S. donation raising to fund Peter Joseph lifestyle, quit trying to promote them here,
this coin has nothing to do with them.

And I will continue to despise them as I despise all liars and corrupt people that prey on others for selfish motives.

604  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Drop of over $500 on the price of a bitcoin last 24 hours on: June 24, 2018, 09:13:07 AM
With mixed sort of news coming, bitcoin fell sharply last 24 hour breaking all the so called resistance point of 6500 and 6300 to reach around $6K.
Where next? Below $5K or rise back to $10K?

Odds are ~$4000 for 2½ years or so.
605  Economy / Speculation / Re: The falling can't be real on: June 23, 2018, 06:59:37 AM
I have no reason but my intuition is saying the price go up very soon. I had 13.5 BTC so bought another 13.5 BTC 5 minutes ago. the falling is fake.
this can't happen for bitcoin goes under 9000$. I got on the bullish wave ever already. Join me people

Falling down to $6,076.24  , looks pretty real to me.

The bear in me is holding a cue card that says the bottom is ~$4000.  Tongue

The filing came weeks after reports first indicated that Bitfinex and Tether had been subpoenaed by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), though it's not clear what, exactly, is being investigated. That news followed the revelation that the relationship between Tether – which operates the dollar-linked token USDT – and its auditor, Friedman, had "dissolved."

Earlier this week, Tether’s general counsel confirmed that Tether indeed has backed all their tokens,
although they were careful to note that it was not an official audit and that they are not an accounting firm.

Translation General Counsel word is not worth anything and he won't back up his findings if the court presses him , because he is not an accountant.
So aside from blowing smoke up , his words were a waste of time as tether is still being investigated.

The paper is titled Is Bitcoin Really Un-Tethered? and is written by John M. Griffin, a professor of finance at the University of Texas and Amin Shams, a graduate student at the same university. They found that 87 hours of trading (amounting to 1 percent of total trading activity) of Tether could be responsible for a 50 percent rise in the price of bitcoin. Griffin told CNBC that Tether trading created price support for bitcoin and had “huge price effects.” "Our research would indicate that there are sophisticated people harnessing investor interest for their benefit,” he said. Both Griffin and Shams had earlier authored a paper that alleged manipulation in Wall Street's volatility index VIX. Those allegations are being investigated after a whistleblower confirmed them.

Bitfinex is yet to show credible proof that Tether tokens in crypto markets, which amount to 2.5 billion as of this writing, are backed by an equivalent amount of US dollars.

Question of the Day, how many want to sue Tether and Bitfinex for manipulating the markets and now crashing them?
We need to get the civil suits started before the feds take all of their money.  Wink

607  Economy / Speculation / Re: The bitcoin bubble is broken or not on: June 21, 2018, 05:36:29 PM

Recently with the continuous decline of bitcoin many people think that bitcoin bubbles have broken. I do not think so and believe that bitcoin will be even stronger because:
The current market is too small to be called a bubble compared to other financial channels.
Institutional investors have not invested in crypto.
Countries are studying the legal framework for crypto, protecting investors.
Do you believe Bitcoin will continue to break this year?

Yep , down to ~$4000 as a baseline. But that may takes months before it drops that low.
608  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC 'exhausted' at $6k - 'bottoming process' could sink crypto to $4k on: June 21, 2018, 05:34:31 PM
Bitcoin price LIVE: BTC 'exhausted' at $6k - 'bottoming process' could sink crypto to $4k

BITCOIN is fighting back after news of yet another hack on an exchange in South Korea sent crypto prices tumbling this week. However, one expert has warned that bitcoin's “bottoming process” has began and prices could soon sink down to '$4,500'.

Details:
https://cryptomonster.net/news/bitcoin-price-live-btc-exhausted-at-6k-bottoming-process-could-sink-crypto-to-4k-express.co.uk/index.html

If it falls like it did after Nov 2013 boom, then ~$4500 is the right call, actually a few 100 lower, then ~4 years before the next boom.
609  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Blockchain issue: scaling. on: June 21, 2018, 02:06:59 PM
The more popular blockchain becomes, the longer the chains – which causes longer transaction validation times. The current transaction delays with popular blockchains make crypto currencies unusable for many use-cases. What do you think about that? Any example of the technology that can change that?

The Problem is Bitcoin uses Variable transaction fees, some miners artificially spam transactions to increase the fees so they make a larger profit.

Simple fix to this is remove the variable fee system and replaced it with a fixed fee system, therefore the miners have no incentive to spam the network as the fees will not go higher. Also this would allow all transactions to be processed in the order received which would increase speed for most as no longer having to wait for a miner to choose them.

Many other coins already do this.  Smiley

Hello guys. I'm new to zeit just bought 200k+ the other day and will this amount good for staking? do we have a discord channel?

200k in a single block should stake within 7 days or so,
Most with a block of 1 million stake every 1 to 3 days.

No discord , additional forums beside this one are:
Zeit-Knights.slack.com , hosted by ZEIT Knights  : Auto Invite=> https://zeitcoin.herokuapp.com
Telegram Community , hosted by Zwaaraan

hi
What is the total supply plz
https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/zeitcoin/#charts
Circulating Supply
36,971,207,788 ZEIT

With ULI activated the maximum new coins created per year is ~184856.
Not everyone is staking so new coins generated will be less than the above number.
Transaction fees are automatically destroyed, which also lowers total coin supply as old ones are burned thru transaction fees.
Current transaction fee is .1 per transaction.
The exact daily numbers can be viewed here under Generated+Fees.
https://chainz.cryptoid.info/zeit/#!overview

What problem does this coin solve?
why are those in the market not doing it themselves?
What is your marketing strategy? this is the first time i heard about this coin.

Problems solved:
Removed PoW insane energy waste by using Proof of Stake Energy Efficient
Truly Decentralized as anyone can stake coins and enter their own transactions in the block chain
Network is affordable to maintain as it takes less than $1000 monthly to keep the network running, not in the millions per month like BTC or ETH
Performance : ZEIT Network can process over 12 million onchain transactions per day easy exceeding bitcoin limited onchain transactions
Offchain processing can be achieve by using some of the exchanges we are on, so we have unlimited offchain transaction capacity for those not wanting it stored on the blockchain.
Removed the inflation supply problem of Proof of Stake coins that decreases price per coin because of oversupply by moving to an Ultra Low Inflation
*Observe a coin supply increase on a daily & monthly basis , if the influx of investment can't match the price per coin, it will fall.*
*ZEIT's ULI by making less than 500 coins on average per day removed that as an issue.*

Reason the others are not following these changes, is simple greed.
ASIC Miners won't give up their control of the PoW network because it ends their domination
Other Proof of Stake coins don't want to give up the ability to overprint free coins, which causes more problems in the long run along with an ever decreasing price.

Market strategy is pure guerilla marketing,
People that know of this coin and it's advantages spreading the word.
Considering that most social media is blocking all crypto ads, people spreading the word is the only one they can not stop.

Zeitcoin a Synopsis.
611  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Tether is backed by USD!!! on: June 21, 2018, 03:41:48 AM
Hey crypto friends! have you the latest news about tether? Tether announced the results of some company's audit, and it was discovered that Tether coin (USDT) backed by USD reserves. so Tether has proved their  fairness. I am sure this piece of news will help market to go up)) Read the news and hope for the best.

There was no audit,  they had a Law firm look at a few bank accounts that totaled the US Dollar Tether amount.

No actual audit has occurred, easy way to fool the Laywers.
I believe the info came from foreign banks.

Pay someone at the bank to Lie to the stupid laywers.
Move the funds from one account to another a few days apart and show the old record.

Borrow the amounts on credit to fill the accounts and return the money next week to fool the fools.  Wink

A full audit would have verified that money in the bank was not debt but only there for the backing of tether alone.

A dumb ass attorney that did not verify their debt structure , is just more smoke and mirrors to fool the stupid.

Plus the lie that no firm would run a full audit, kind of shows they are lying.   Tongue

Believe what you want, but tether is nothing more than fairy dust.

I would like to know your opinion about it, I own ZEITCOIN and I do not sell them because I think I can do as Verge, do you think it is possible? or is impossible?....thanks very much everybody Wink

My opinion is ZEIT will over time achieve goals we have yet to imagine.  Smiley

But when it comes to investing, your own thoughts and ideas should always be paramount in your decision making of when to buy and sell or hold.
Because at the end of the day , your personal decisions are what decide how your efforts are rewarded.

Personally , I see ZEIT as a slow and steady growing value over time, not a spike and then collapse like verge.
ULI was only activated less than a year ago, it's impact should only become more noticeable as time continues.

I wonder if you are able to stake with a Cryptopia account or you have to stake it from a separated wallet ? can someone explain me how does stake work actually ?

No staking of noblecoins on cryptopia, you have to have it running on your desktop wallet to stake.

Install Noblecoin wallet, sync with network , once fully synced, transfer noblecoins from exchange to your desktop wallet.
Enable minting and it should stake in a day or 2

from the Noblecoin OP
Quote
100% PoS - Parameters:
- algo: we use PoS II from Magi Coin with little bit of tweaking
- 8% interest rate
- average maximum number of coins generated by PoS per day: around 446 000, which is 6,1% of current supply rate
- min coin age: 2 hours
- how to stake: just keep your wallet online. the longer it is online the more secure is whole network. if you cannot keep your wallet online 24/7
this is still fine but you will earn bit more interests if it is online all the time
- recommended size of transactions in a wallet: if your wallet is big (e.g. bigger than 5-10 mil) it makes sense to split it into smaller pieces.
in theory the best transaction size is 2 mil.

One of the Main Advantages of ZEITCOINS, is you truly own your Coins.

By being Decentralized , no one can stop you from sending or receiving coins by blocking transactions.
Anyone can stake , so you can always enter your own transactions in the blockchain making it the fairest system in the world.

Dangers of Centralized Control of a Financial System.
In Centralized Banking , they can freeze your funds without your approval.

Even in Bitcoin , the ASICS Miners could Collude and refuse to include your transactions.

“Protecting” “punishing”. No. No one gets to decide those things.

This is the point of crypto, no one should have that power.
If you do, then we should just stop wasting everyone’s time.

Only Systems like ZEITCOIN where you have the ability to enter transactions into a blockchain yourself by staking without help from a 3rd party ,
can truly be called Decentralized.
617  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is the Lightning Network centralized? on: June 19, 2018, 08:35:09 AM
Old news, and that never stopped Bitcoin. I want to see arrests for running Lightning nodes and Bitcoin full nodes because they are not KYC/AML compliant. Cool

People running full nodes have nothing to worry about as they are only keeping a ledger of public information.
They are not sending any funds.  AML/KYC laws can not touch them.

LN Hubs on the other hand will facilitate fund transfers using their own note system like a bank allowing redemption in bitcoin
or as Franky1 said another crypto or eventually even fiat.

Two completely different things.   Smiley
618  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is the Lightning Network centralized? on: June 19, 2018, 05:10:16 AM
There are 7,000 Lightning nodes. I want you to report all of them because they are not KYC/AML compliant and yet they are routing payments across the globe. If you want to go deeper, you can also report Bitcoin's full validating nodes. Haha.

Has it gone live yet and actually transferring funds, because last I heard it was unsafe to use and the devs were saying no one should use it.
Those 7000 nodes aren't transferring much of anything yet are they?
Threshold is usually around $10000 US  before they start going after people.

I'll shoot you a PM , after the arrests on LN Hub operators start showing up in the news.  Smiley

required at the least to report as a money transmitter at worst as a banking institution.
The expenses for these will make it so very few actually run a hub once enforcement of the AML/KYC regulations begin.

You sound like a flat-earther or anti-vaxxer.  Tinfoil-hat-wearing conspiracy theorist type.  Repeating the same unfounded, delusional, reductive reasoning because you have no substantiative arguments.  You can say it as many times as you like, but it's no more likely to occur than KYC/AML for on-chain nodes.  You're still enabling payments to be processed by validating them if you run a full node.  In which case, BCH will come to an end before LN, because LN has more nodes than BCH and will be more difficult to pursue.  Clearly every single person running a Lightning node right now thinks you're talking nonsense, otherwise they wouldn't be running one.

Reports suggest that something like 20% of all internet activity is related to piracy and no regulators have managed to stop that yet.  They'll have the same or less success with Lightning, since I get the impression that torrenting is easier to monitor than the act of signing transactions is.  If you torrent without a proxy or VPN, there are websites that can tell you how many files you've downloaded, but there's no way of recording how many Lightning transactions you've sent or received, because that information isn't public.  I wish the regulators the best of luck, they're going to need it.

Were you born that stupid or do you have to work at it?

Bitcoin exchanges, miners, and cryptocurrency-
payment processors, operating in the United States are required to comply with federal Anti-Money Laundering (AML) laws.

That means a cryptocurrency user can be prosecuted for violating a number of federal laws.
Anybody who converts BTC to USD and sends the money to or from the United States must comply with all AML laws and regulations.

Such laws and regulations are imposed by the U.S. Treasury Department affiliate, FinCEN.
The Financial Crimes Enforcement Network is in charge of enforcing the policies and regulations, which serve as a security measure for conducting any financial activity within the U.S. borders.

All money service businesses, including Bitcoin exchanges, come within the provisions of these laws and guarantee a strong bank secrecy, as well as money laundering control.
In the case a financial organization fails to abide by the policy, FinCEN is entitled to recourse through competent legal authorities like the FBI or the U.S. Secret Service.

According to the U.S. Government,
digital currency trading is regarded as electronic money transfer, and thus cryptocurrency exchanges need to follow Anti-Money Laundering laws.
That means any business that engages in bitcoin or ethereum mining, money transfers, trading or currency exchanges will need to file the appropriate paperwork via BSA E-Filing

Great! I think that was the answer I wanted. I wanted you to answer that. But it's too much to hope on just donations and volunteering. My writing was erased again? LOL

You speak like so many of the younger generation.
You expect almost instant gratification.

Fact is, as most older people are already aware of,  things of true value take time and effort.

3½ years ago , ZEITCOIN Marketcap was under $35000 , trading volume was less than $10 per day,
Now our marketcap is in the millions and our daily trading volume is in the thousands.

3½ years from now , our marketcap may be in the 100s of millions and trading volume in the millions per day.

But if you have no patience , and think you have a better opportunity somewhere else,
Well Good Luck in your future choices.

As far as a comparison ,
I compare ZEITCOIN verses the US Dollar and it has increased dramatically,
because I don't care if zeitcoin is only worth a satoshi if a satoshi is worth $1 .
Or
if Bitcoin up and dies next year because it production cost exceeds it coin price.
Then ZEITCOIN is direct paired with fiat or the next coin, as value verse the US $ is all I am concerned with.

I choose ZEITCOIN, because it is the future and it can survive thru PoW Miners collapses, Disconnection of electric utilities by evil governments,
and it can also survive thru any price variation up or down.

You mention DCN earlier, I'll tell you why I would never waste my time on that pump and dump,
It is nothing more than an Ethereum token,  if Ethereum collapses or just decides to remove their tokens , then that DCN coin is dead.
Ethereum blockchain bloat is already centralizing control of it to the rich elite,
it and bitcoin(insane energy waste) are already giving the world government the leverage
they need to utterly control their transactions approval making them both no better than a centralized banking system.

ZEITCOIN runs it's own network and is truly decentralized no one can turn the lights out on it , no matter their resources.
That is my criteria for what makes a coin worth investing in.

But if you have made satoshi ranking verses coin price your main criteria for how you invest,
well CMK has the history make your choice and good day.
