I translated David's article (https://medium.com/@DavidSonstebo/iota-97592581f985#.g46t9or68) into Chinese and posted on the biggest Chinese btc forum - http://8btc.com/thread-27171-1-1.html

Hope our Chinese follows can go there to view it or make comments on it to bump it. Let's get more people to know about Iota.

Very interesting to see how people will react.

I have a suspicion that ethereum smart contracts is not a big deal, just hyped.

Trust me I know how these scams work cause I've been part in many of them.

You scam people during ICO and now invest stolen BTC in IOTA ?

607  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: IOTA Crowdsale on: December 26, 2015, 09:00:10 PM
How/ when do i know i did everything right (regarding collect my iota token) ? Does a list exist with valid adresses?

If you see the address you generated here http://188.138.57.93/ac
and you send the confirmation amount of satoshi from the same address you bought during IPO - you done.

I've got an interesting link:

http://www.meetup.com/bitcoin-il/events/227289840/

Quote
Bitcoin and other blockchain-based crypto-currencies do not easily scale to process a high throughput of transactions, or to quickly approve individual transactions. When block creation rates and block sizes are accelerated, networking delays cause many conflicts to occur and the security of the protocol quickly degrades.

We present a new "chainless'' protocol for the consensus core of crypto-currencies that remains secure even when delays are substantial. During the talk, we will present various attacks and naive attempts to solve them that slowly develop and lead to our current approach.
Much like IOTA.

What's the exact name for this chainless protocol, dag?

The comment section has a link to the video of the event. The lecture is in Hebrew though : https://youtu.be/xbEaNSIv00U

But the slides are in English:  http://bitcoil.co.il/files/Bitcoin_meetup_Chainless.pptx

Really interesting, they talk about DAG too!

So in different places of the world the idea of DAG start to appear at the end of 2015.

It's extremly importand to launch iota in January - the winner takes it all.
Everyone knew who was the first man on the moon... but majority don't remember who was the second one.

I read about IOTA some days ago and I was not very convienced about it. I guess it will have the doom of most altcoins. So my guess is it will have the value compared to ico after on month Wink

Funny I looked into it and I took away the complete opposite you did. I think most will agree there is tremendous potential here.

How about this: one thinks the coin in which he invest has more potential then one which he doesn't invest?
611  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What will the marketcap of IOTA be in 30 days from today? on: December 25, 2015, 06:06:02 AM
Just watched deeper inside the IOTA code and I can only say WOW !!?¿!?

Really guys, no kidding this time, if IOTA works like it's planned to be, this is THE COIN.

It's funny, because even CfB and the other guys don't know the true potential of their creation. They're thinking about IOT and other complex things, but they have created the TRUE BITCOIN.

I mean, IOTA it's so simple, so fast, and so cheap, that it's destined to be the Descentralized digital currency.

Forget about all those promising shits outthere, ANY of them will work as a coin, including BITCOIN.

Congratulations to all those who were part of the ICO, if you have a little patience you'll get the most stratospheric ROI of your lifes.

And congratulations to CfB and team too. You still not assume what you have created man!

To good to be true  Huh

But I hope  Smiley

Any way to buy some now that the crowdsale is over?

Do newbie account questions get ignored just because of the account rank, or what is it?Smiley

That will be up to the exchanges that add it. I know of several that are interested.

FYI, when Qora did launch, the first exchange which add it were "new" exchange. In 2 days investors move 5% of all Qora to that exchange (cause it were the first one) and then exchange turned to be scam, people lost money.

So I recommend at first go to "normal" exchanges, at least for 1 week, then to "newbie" ones. Otherwise project will be at risk   Wink

Are we going to rise above the success Ether has had?

I guess competition is so hard, that if you not win (top 10 coin market cap) then you dead in 1 year.
616  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: IOTA Crowdsale on: December 24, 2015, 02:51:12 AM
By the way, I'm still reindexing bitcoin blockchain to send confirmation amount.

I hope that in a year we all be laughing about that deprecated tech, where you need to download gigabytes, wait for hours an so on.

Can I get clarification on this?

1. The passphrase must contain a 9 in it? Or its optional?

2. Is 9 the only number allowed in the passphrase?

1. Optional.
2. Yes.
619  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: IOTA Crowdsale on: December 23, 2015, 02:55:34 AM

How can we check the balance of IOTA if the distribution is done?

I belive that all what is left is to wait for full launch of network in January, then entering you secret phrase and you'll see your coins in wallet.
