603  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: NEW: Bitcoin Mining Calculator with Difficulty Change Adjusted Calculations on: July 24, 2011, 04:38:17 AM
Looks good.  Now we need someone to write one that does do a conservative estimate of additional difficulty increases.  Difficulty increases aren't completely predictable, but writing an estimator that uses the exponential curve that best fits previous increases would be a good start.

Nah.

What someone really needs to do is have a graphing function, and after about a months extrapolation it says something like this:
I've made my own mining calculator with a profits and Bitcoin mining graph. My calculator factors in all the same information as the OP's. My source code is also available for download.

@KaptainBlaZzed: Your calculator agrees 100% with mine on it's calculations.

I have made a calculator which will estimate how much net profit you will make. It calculated how many BTC you will mine, how much you will spend on electricity, your gross profit, and net profit.
You could also use this calculator's mining estimate and compare it to how many BTC you could buy for the price of your hardware, don't forget to consider you may sell your hardware for a bit after you mine as well.

Done.

You can find a Google App version of this calculator here : http://bitcoindetailedcalculator.appspot.com/

Please let me know if you find any bugs or have any requests for improvements.

Zodiac1233 - I have kept the donation address you specified. A cut of any donations would be much appreciated ;O)
Yes, I'll give you a cut of the donations if I get any. Could you also put my forum name somewhere in there so they know I made the original script?
610  Bitcoin / Project Development / Mining Profit Calculator on: July 10, 2011, 07:39:12 AM
This program calculates the amount of Bitcoins you should accumulate by or earn on any given day at your current speed and the current/future difficulty.
The difficulty estimate uses a proper amount of days for the difficulty readjustment (2X difficulty = 7 days, 1.15X difficulty = 12.174 days)

Please post any suggestions or comments you have.

Instructions:
1. Download and run .exe (or compile the source yourself if you don't trust me)
2. Fill out the boxes:
  • Mhash: Your mining speed in Mhash/s
  • Difficulty: The current dfficulty
  • Mine Days: The amount of days you want to calculate mining for
  • Diff Chg: Difficulty change as a multiple (+20% = 1.2)
  • Watts: Power usage of your system
  • ¢/kWh: The cost of your electricity
  • Market Price: The price you expect to sell your Bitcoins for
  • Hardware Cost: How much you paid for your hardware (0 if computer/GPU was not bought for mining)
  • Hardware Resale: How much you expect to sell your hardware for after you're done mining with it
3. Click Calculate

613  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Possible to GPU and CPU mine? on: July 01, 2011, 02:02:54 AM
When I am doing this, do I need to be connected to the internet to be in a pool?
Yes, you require an internet connection. You will also likely need an account and a worker thread at the pool you choose.
614  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Possible to GPU and CPU mine? on: June 30, 2011, 07:27:19 PM
My CPU Produces 7-8 Mhash when mining on 3/4 cores.
615  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Possible to GPU and CPU mine? on: June 30, 2011, 07:01:24 PM
Go to this thread for a list of miners (including CPU). You may be disappointed by the Mhash/s of your CPU though, CPU's produce nothing compared to GPU's.

If you choose the Ufasoft CPU miner, use the flags -g no to make it not mine from your GPU and -t X where X is the amount of your cores minus 1 (I found mining on all cores slowed my GPU miner down)
