601  Other / Meta / Re: General History of the Bitcoin Forum?! on: January 13, 2024, 01:14:06 PM
I think I did a reasonable job in getting the history right and happy to correct any errors. I've tried to write it from a neutral unbiased viewpoint.

Hey, you're back. Or maybe you never left.

In the years since we last conversed, Bitcointalk has become increasingly more relevant from a crypto historian's point of view -- after all, it houses some epic threads for some revolutionary projects. I reference it rather regularly on Twitter these days for matters concerning old core devs positions on things, old altcoins, early bitcoin projects, and definitively settling matters on who said what or came up with an idea first.

I was even thanked by the creator of Ordinals, who expressed his admiration of the forum's rich history, in what turned out to be his last post, lol:

Thank you nutildah! Getting such nice kudos on Bitcoin Talk is honestly a sweet milestone. These threads are feeling pretty legendary to me, especially the one I necro-posted to after a 10 year haitus.

The thread he is referencing was written by the first person to suggest a serialization system for every satoshi since the genesis block.

In any case, as the popularity of Bitcoin grows worldwide, so will interest in its early history, much of which is housed here.

Can you do 50K€?

I still remember when you said this:

I am not selling or buying anything here anyway.

So what made you decide to change your mind?
603  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Intersection of Bitcoin and Gaming Industries on: January 13, 2024, 11:16:45 AM

All this guy does is plagiarize and use ChatGPT to write posts for him... yet he hasn't been banned and his posts aren't being deleted.

But in case OP cares (he doesn't) or anyone else cares, the idea goes all the way back to 2016 (aside from casinos), when the first mobile game, Sarutobi Island, was introduced that allowed for players to receive BTC "tips" by completing various in-game tasks:

https://news.bitcoin.com/sarutobi-game-tips-players-bitcoin-now-android/

Here's a video of what gameplay looked like, and how it worked:

https://youtu.be/RRTB0nZjsm8

The game also spawned the first interoperable Bitcoin asset, NINJASUIT, which could be used in both Sarutobi Island and Spells of Genesis (another early Bitcoin-based game).
604  Economy / Reputation / Re: AI Spam Report Reference Thread on: January 13, 2024, 10:34:47 AM
9/10 of my previous reports against Silver005 are unhandled, but let's try again:

This is an interesting question, and it depends on how you define "deserve". Inactive users may not be actively contributing to a community or platform, but that doesn't mean they aren't benefiting from it. For example, they may be learning from the content or discussions on the platform, even if they aren't participating directly. Additionally, they may be helping to support the platform simply by being a member, even if they're not actively using it. So while they may not be actively earning merits through their contributions, they may still be contributing in other ways. Ultimately, it comes down to how we define "deserve" -

Some may argue that inactive users don't deserve merits because they're not putting in the effort to contribute to the community. However, others may argue that they do deserve merits because they're still part of the community and are benefiting from it in some way. It's also worth considering the reasons why someone might be inactive. They may not have the time or energy to participate actively, or they may not feel comfortable doing so. In these cases, it could be argued that they still deserve to receive merits, even if they're not actively earning them. Ultimately, the decision of whether or not to give inactive users merits is up to the community....

Copyleaks: AI content detected
Hivemoderation: 100% likely to contain AI Generated Text
Sapling.ai: 99.9% fake

I mean its definitely fake, doesn't matter if he adds extra punctuation or periods to the end of his last sentence.........

Sanctions from moderators do not apply to him. I'm tired of complaining about him; all reports are not moderated. But as nutildah said earlier, most of his topics are off-topic; maybe he does not provide something that will harm the forum.
But he is already interested in receiving merit, as evidenced by his recent post, although a negative tag issued for exceptionally stupid behavior, that is, regular posting of AI posts, will not help him successfully exist on the forum.

My most recent report on him was handled, so that's encouraging, although I do hate accruing Unhandled reports, even if just for OCD reasons.

605  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [PEPECASH] 🐸 Pepecash / RarePepe 🦄 Spepeculation Topic on: January 13, 2024, 09:29:26 AM
PEPECASH still hanging in there with a respectable $11.99 M market cap:

https://xchain.io/asset/PEPECASH

Funny that I didn't learn until a year or so ago that it itself was a Rare Pepe.

Still the #2 token used to buy Rare Pepes, after XCP.
606  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: NFTs in the Bitcoin blockchain - Ordinal Theory on: January 13, 2024, 08:08:36 AM
It appears that there are some efforts being made to take BRC-20 to the 2nd layer:

https://twitter.com/BRC20com/status/1745477227636982253

Some data will still be settled on L1 but this is a great initiative which is driven by a couple of factors:

1. fees
2. the need to perform advanced, virtual machine-type transactions that can't be done on L1.

This is hard to read but it further explains the thinking of our new bitcoin shittoken friends, for anyone who may be interested:

607  Other / Meta / Re: Have the rules of the DT system and Forum rules amended ? ? theymos on: January 13, 2024, 06:57:36 AM
JollyGood has been controversial for the last few years now. I kind of wish he would go back to scam investigations & get away from piling on defenseless accounts that may have f'ed up one one way or another so nobody is likely to step up and voice support for them.

OP's question was already answered in the 1st reply or two so no point in clarifying that -- administration will not step in unless there is blatant, coordinated abuse of the trust system taking place. As far as this particular matter is concerned, the trust system is still functioning as intended.

There's a small core group - (a sub set really) of thin skinned DT Trolls whose only weapons are to employ Fear, Uncertainty or Doubt (FUD) to, one-by-one, pick off anyone that even remotely has a differing option to their own.
...
If you want to push back, objectively best them at their own GAME

Is moving down from 0 to -13 on this list part of the game?

608  Other / Meta / Re: Second chances on: January 13, 2024, 06:50:53 AM
I think I started to think this way when naim027 got unbanned and then almost immediately got tagged into oblivion. I mean, I did tag him too, so I get why he was painted red, but I also have to wonder how it might have gone if the community had offered him a clean slate and a road to redemption, instead of just collectively hissing at him for lying.

I wouldn't worry about him, he's doing quite well, back with at least 2 other accounts & one of them is on DT2 already  Cheesy

I just can't prove it so I'm not gonna say who I know strongly suspect think they are.

My suggestion was including a second chance: just create new account.

Probably the main reason staff hasn't been overwhelmed with applicants... several banned accounts have since moved on to newer accounts & are probably of a higher rank than their original account.
609  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏈🏈 The American Football Discussion Thread 🏈🏈 on: January 13, 2024, 05:17:13 AM
Of all the spreads for this weekend, I like Eagles @ -3 over the Buccaneers.

Browns/Texans: really too close to call, Texans probably take it
Dolphins/Chiefs: 2 of my favorite teams in the league, can't bet on it, but will be fun to watch
Steelers/Bills: can't believe the line is -9.5 on this one, must be because its expected to snow (?)
Packers/Cowboys: easy win for the Cowboys but am not betting on the line (-7)
Rams/Lions: fun matchup against teams that swapped QBs, Rams have more/better post-season experience

612  Other / Meta / Re: Merits Tree - Monthly Results on: January 10, 2024, 11:28:31 AM
Where is c-hunter? He would be furious if he knew about all this blatant merit cycling.

Can't ever say his full name or he will appear. IYKYK. If you don't, you're too young, sorry. And also its probably better that way.
613  Economy / Gambling / Re: UNREAL!! Sportsbet.io pays out a $42,000,000 USDT Casino WIN!! on: January 10, 2024, 10:29:27 AM
Usually these players are sponsored by the casino. Especially if there happens to be a "replay" available, signalling that the play was recorded (which isn't done for no reason).

Several casino game software providers have a replay option available. It is even referenced as such in the OP:

614  Economy / Reputation / Re: Would you tag these users? on: January 10, 2024, 09:10:45 AM
So as not to clutter Loyce's thread, I'm transferring the conversation here:

I will consider changing it from "Looks to me like this account is using AI to write posts " to "This account posts are of low quality", how does that sound?
English might be poor but the posts ain't - I don't deserve any of the tag. You can put me on your watchlist and see how things turns out henceforth. The forum is currently offering a second chance, I believe everyone deserves it.

I disagree... Your posts are pretty bad. For example, I just flipped to a random page of your posts and found this one:

Opportunities are open daily in the market, it's our main objective to strive harder and earn quite significant profits and also sets our good strategies in trading to keep portraying news and ourselves in earning quite significant trophies and points in the market. We have intentions of raising our feets above our shoulders in the market, it's never an easy job to be on triggering trades. Fraudsters will not back down, they have this winning mentality of steady persuasion of their clients who happens to be the real trader's and investors.

Like... what??

I don't deserve any of the tag.

A neutral tag is warranted. However, a red tag is not. It is true that moderation issues shouldn't result in red tags, generally speaking. I would sooner just put people whose posts I don't want to read on ignore. As a result of this practice, my ignore list is so large it won't open for my profile.
615  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏈🏈 The American Football Discussion Thread 🏈🏈 on: January 10, 2024, 07:47:01 AM
Submitted, should be fun. I have the same two SB teams & winner but a slightly different route for how they got there.

*shit, I just noticed, I really blew the "total points"... didn't see it said for the whole playoffs, should have read it better, LOL.

@Hueristic. I have all of your picks except the Dolphins. I reckon despite the Chiefs not being as good last year or the other year, I am quite certain Andy Reid's experience will be very valuable and the greatness of Maholmes will be witnessed by the visitors. There is still an argument that Patrick Maholmes is the best quarterback in the NFL.

Also, Mike McDaniel's post season experience is only another wild card round last year with a loss against the Bills.

Yeah Chiefs have a lot of post-season experience under Andy Reid... I'm a big Tua fan but playoff games are just a whole different animal than regular season games.

Texans is another brave pick, but the line is only +2.5 for them, could go either way. Just feel like the Browns want it more after never having won a Super Bowl & only making it to the playoffs 3 times in the last 24 years! Just looked it up: Houston Texans have been there 7 times during the course of their existence (22 seasons).
616  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NFL Playoffs & Super Bowl Prediction Thread on: January 10, 2024, 03:23:36 AM
Some potential Super Bowl matchups I'd like to see:

San Francisco vs. Baltimore
San Francisco vs. Miami
Philadelphia vs. Miami
Philadelphia vs. Kansas City
Philadelphia vs. Baltimore

Some real "WTF" Super Bowls unlikely to happen, but would be fun to watch nonetheless:

LA vs. Houston
Detroit vs. Cleveland

Only a few days left to vote in the poll, please cast your vote if you're an NFL fan.

IDK what the problem is but for some reason I can't see the image, so here's a link to the tweet:

618  Economy / Reputation / Re: DT1 and DT2 members who have negative feedback (or are banned) on: January 10, 2024, 02:26:37 AM

Quote
Stick to a player that's outstanding and confident in scoring points. Every team do triggered winning and losing, we have potentials of winning, if they do not have this hope, they wouldn't have compete or contend for any solidable points in the league. Thrilling victory is achievable and everyone has the right to be able to place wager on games. We all have choices to make and our favorites in the game. @morvillz making an exception of choosing Wilson or Flacco over Brownings bases on the tactical date examined, but the same underrated Brownings is the favorite of most viewers in the system.

@Hueristic already responded to my message and he's willing to check the post again for reconsideration.

I checked it and since you were unable to give me a untranslated version I don't think I believe you.

30mm Brownings are in fact used in tactical situations but umm explain how that would be used here.

The problem is most of the Gambling board is a total shitshow where posts like the one you quoted above are the norm. I'm in a casino campaign right now but have the hardest time finding threads worth commenting in over there because they are all spamfests. Just pointless drivel with zero quality control, not unlike 99% of Altcoin Discussion. Glad they're usually smart enough not to post in our beloved NFL thread.
619  Economy / Reputation / Re: [Discussion] Bitcointalk Community Awards 🏆 on: January 10, 2024, 01:36:06 AM
If I remember correctly, at least there was a discussion about the fact that anyone who votes for the post in which he is nominated, that vote is disqualified. Now I see that franky1 rewarded some posts that nominated him with merit.
Is this franky1's try to avoid the AntiHero award? I must admit an interesting strategy, now it deserves this label even more.  Cheesy

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=merit;u=65837

Wow, I finally got a merit from franknbeans. Cool.
620  Economy / Reputation / Re: DT1 and DT2 members who have negative feedback (or are banned) on: January 10, 2024, 12:03:17 AM
I just got mine uninvited, unjustifiable and without evidence. JollyGood I need explanations.
...

I just read your PM. Here's the thing:

- Your posts are extremely bad.
- You probably bought this account.
- Neither of these things would warrant a red tag from me.
- JollyGood should present more evidence to back his tag.
