601  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: KYC methods which make identity theft more difficult - are they possible? on: December 12, 2023, 12:10:26 PM
There are some solutions that Apple is trying to provide, and I hope that countries will push them, which is establishing a government company that verifies your data and then sends confirmation to these third parties that you are the user in question for a small fee. In this way, you will ensure that your data does not leave one party and that this party can be held legally accountable if the data is leaked, but I do not think that such government agencies exist.

What apple is trying to implement will not eliminate totally the risks associated with KYC, especially data leakage. But then, their proposed solution will only centralize the data in one central server of the government thereby having only one point of failure. This obviously has some advantages and disadvantages.

The advantage will be the legal implications of it, which will try to protect the right of the person who is completing KYC.
While the disadvantage will be risk of attack. Since there's only one central point of KYC, hackers and criminals will channel all their energy to that point and who knows, they can hit the jackpot.
602  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Where the mixers will promote their projects? on: December 11, 2023, 10:44:57 PM
If this group is so powerful, then why would they use mixers that are under the supervision of the authorities, and not invent a much more effective solution for money laundering - for example, through the banking system that launders hundreds of billions every year, and at the same time we do not hear that the authorities have closed any big bank.
Probably because of heavy sanctions that are in place against everyone and everything that is connected with the ruling power of North Korea. Lazarus Group is always mentioned as a state-operated hacking team. If that is true, it would make sense that they use Bitcoin and other assets outside of the traditional banking system. They would be fools to use tether and similar centralized tokens that can be easily frozen. I just read that over 100 Ethereum addresses were frozen over the weekend after a new Tether policy update. There wasn't a lot of money, but still.
If bitcoin was to be centralized as the banks and the mixer CEO has much right and power like the bank managers or directors, they could easily send bitcoin across and delete any traces of it. It is because of the decentralized nature of bitcoin, that is why it is so difficult to completely stitch the loopholes left by its transactions and which is why it is not also easy to develop more efficient system than the mixers.

As for the question of where mixers will promote, we should know that necessity prompts invention.

I do not actually know why I would want to read all the posts in one page? I prefer it in pages, and if I mistakenly click view all, I will reload immediately and not allow it happen. Although, everyone has their preference, but then if you want to view all pages conveniently, you may try using the forum in a desktop with good network and not a mobile phone without strong connections.

605  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Trend or long term projects? on: December 11, 2023, 05:44:54 PM
Crypto is mostly unexpected and we don't know which token will give us high profit. sometimes we expect a big pump in the token and we believe that this project has a lot of potential but this token performance remains low throughout bull and bear season just like DOT and Cardano while some coins we often called them scam and spam pumped hard like ORDI, Pepe, Floki. It's all about trend when trend end then no one want to buy these coins.

What is your suggestions about profit from altcoins. Should we rely on only buying long term projects or we should invest according to trend despite of looking that trends coin will have no value in future?
In my opinion, there's nothing like long term project investment in altcoins. The only coin that can be used for long term investment in the altcoin family is the Ethereum and most likely BNB can be considered. Every other altcoin does not fit in long term investment. Altcoins investment is like gambling and it is therefore more profitable when the trend is on and you join the bandwagon. If the hype and trend is ended and you miss the timing, you could be holding some sort of worthless coins with you and which might not reverse again.

I therefore subscribe that if anyone is going the altcoins way, they should endeavour to be vigilant and ensure they follow the trend because the only reliable coin for long term investment is bitcoin.
606  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Time to be cautious: Everyone is not market expert on: December 11, 2023, 04:44:41 PM
It is time to be very careful about the crypto-currency market. it is this period of Bull Run that everyone will have to be very careful, especially the newcomers in the industry. Bcause there is anticipated bull run, many projects will flood the market and many acclaimed experts will begin to make prediction without proper investigation or research.

Some of these people are scammers, I am sorry to say they just want to rip off your investment. You know, how painful it will be if you have been holding since the bear market and when it is almost time for you to reap your reward you now empty everything you must have worked for into the wallet of a scammer in the name of Investments that will give you 100x.

If you are not sure of what you want to do with your fund, kindly remain in Bitcoin and wait patiently, one day you will have results even if it is not up to your expectations, but it is better than losing all in the name of investing in random shitcoins.
607  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Sacrifice!!! on: December 10, 2023, 10:14:43 PM
You have to sacrifice little of all you listed but not to a significant level that it will affect you or become too obvious to everyone that you have sacrificed one part of you.

What are you willing to give up to make trading work?

• Friends
You obviously have to limit how you associate with friends that doesn't trade like you and bring close the ones that understand trading.

• Relationships
I have seen someone who said he quit forum in the past in order to pay attention to his relationship. I began to think how time relationship consume.

• Money
Money is necessary and a must sacrifice to learn trading

• Time
This is obviously the must jealous factor and it must be sacrificed.
608  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Correction is possible in bitcoin price? After 40,000$ on: December 10, 2023, 07:47:35 PM
Bitcoin prices have been on the rise for the past two to three weeks, with no significant correction observed during this period. Currently, the bitcoin price hovers around $39,300. The surge in bitcoin prices can be attributed to the news of ETF approval circulating in the market.

However, what is your opinion? Do you anticipate a potential drop in the bitcoin price, revisiting $30,000 after reaching $40,000, or do you believe it will continue its upward trajectory towards $50,000?

So many persons anticipated that Bitcoin will drop immediately it touches $40k , but currently Bitcoin has exceeded $40k for many days and it has not dropped. This is a sign that Bitcoin is unpredictable. However, Many experts predicted that Bitcoin will not exceed $45k this year. This prediction seems accurate because in few weeks time, this year will end. Although, with a little positive fundamental, Bitcoin can rise to $50k and also in same manner with a negative fundamental, it can drop below $40k.

The law is always thus; whatever goes up must surely come down. Therefore, since Bitcoin has been on the positive lane, we should also anticipate a negative lane. So, it is possible that Bitcoin may fall below $40k amidst the bull run trend.
609  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Sanction On Mixers Would Make This Forum Boring on: December 10, 2023, 07:00:35 PM
The Sanction On Mixers Would Make This Forum Boring

I see that you are relatively new in this forum. Before you make such statements in the forum, you should be able to ask how boring was the forum before the arrival of mixers? I want to assure you that the mixers have added nothing to the forum, even the quality posters that are found in these mixer campaigns have been in the forum before the arrival of mixers campaigns. So if mixer campaigns are finally banned, those quality posters will migrate to other campaigns. What then is your point?

Considering that mixers and casinos seem to be the biggest advertisers here, I foresee a drop in revenue for the forum.

Mixers do not accrue any kind of money to the forum, rather they are only getting help from forum for their promotions. The weekly campaign payments are for forum participants and not for the forum, therefore their exit will not affect the forum.
610  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Selling All Fiat In Bank For BTC? on: December 10, 2023, 06:45:32 PM
To every action there is a purpose, my purpose of investing in bitcoin is not necessarily the purpose of Mr Bob or that of miss Alice. Some persons invest in bitcoin in order to have profits that will enable them sustain themselves and their families. Some others invest in bitcoin because they want to be super rich and these are the set of people that invest a huge amount of money over a long period of time. Some others might be investing in bitcoin because they do not want to miss future opportunities as no one knows what the future holds for bitcoin. Those persons that want to be super rich with Bitcoin are the people that tend to sell all their properties to invest in bitcoin or use all their retirement funds to invest in bitcoin. Funny enough, it works for them if they have great timing of the market. Also in rear cases it goes bad and if they are not strong enough, they sell at lose (the worst scenario).

Anyone who is investing in Bitcoin for a short term is not yet ready the investment. The real Bitcoin investment is always on long term so those who are investing on Bitcoin and harvesting it in a short time are not investing for to see the bull but taking Bitcoin for a saving ground.

During the bull run, short term investment is profitable in bitcoin.
611  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Qatar's sovereign wealth fund eyes $500B bitcoin investment on: December 10, 2023, 11:33:48 AM
to quash all speculation
they are not going to throw $500B into bitcoin

the entire fund is $475b and they are divested into many many investments. recently buying into southern china's region of retail

in short NO they are not going to be throwing 100's of billions into bitcoin.. the original story writer used the numbers of entire fund thats divested into thousands of investments. and saying bitcoin has peaked their interest. meaning only small percentages of small percentages.. not the whole lump
I thought as much. I know many news are hyped and presented more than it happened. I know the Arabic investors are able to throw mind blowing money into projects in the name of investment. I have read their road map of investment and I didn't see any clear picture of bitcoin. The Saudi side are huge in sports and entertainment as they have taken lead in football trying to match the strength of Europe. This means Qatar should also toe the lane of sports and entertainment.
In all there's a news of Bitcoin investment, but not as op captioned it and nothing close to the price mentioned.
612  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: December 09, 2023, 10:22:31 PM
Liverpool at the top, but credit to Aston Villa
Little do we know that Emery is a world class coach. That dude has been excellent since last season he returned to England. Imagine beating Manchester City and Arsenal consecutively. That's the English premier League champions and runner up.

A few unexpected results tonight in the EPL. Bournemouth get their first ever win in their history at Old Trafford and what a way to do it, 3-0 win against Man United. Aston Villa have won 15 consecutive home games in the Premier league. Only Liverpool (24), Man City (20) & Man Utd have had better consecutive home wins in Premier League history. Arsenal couldn't hold on to their pole position after losing to Villa 1-0. They couldn't manage to find the net successfully.

Arsenal and Manchester United lost their respective matches, that was the surprise this week. Liverpool also almost lost points against Crystal Palace, but in the end Liverpool came back after having a superior number of players over Crystal Palace.

In the end, Liverpool managed to lead the standings this week with a 1 point advantage over Arsenal. Unai Emery, Jürgen Klopp and Andoni Iraola have become the 3 best coaches in their last 5 matches, of course this is a good improvement for them. But anyway, I hope Manchester City will return to its best form after losing a lot of points in the last 5 matches. Pep Guardiola must ensure an away win against Luton Town, that will reduce the points gap from Aston Villa, Arsenal and Liverpool.

Aston Villa being able to win Manchester city wasn't a surprise to me because even when they aren't in form, they give the citizens a very tough time. Being able to win Manchester city gave me the clue that they can also beat Arsenal. The tittle race is becoming tougher but nice to see Klopp at the top again.
613  Economy / Reputation / Re: BlackHatCoiner decided to take a leave from bitcointalk on: December 09, 2023, 10:09:12 PM
I came across this post at the reputation section captioned "Goodbye bitcointalk" and after he posted he locked the thread whereby no one will be able to comment or asked him/her questions about his action and final decision to take his walk away from here.

He locked the thread because he doesn't want us to discuss his exit here. So, it will be fine if we respect his decision.

I can't list them all but I know some of them I have added o my Trustlist due to how they are helpful to me.

That's a wrong reason to include someone in your trust list. Include someone when you feel the user give good or accurate trust feedbacks
Now what happened to his or her account Locked or Deactivate?

He is not dead. He will be back. Look by your right side you will see Vod. How about if his account was locked or deactivated?
614  Economy / Reputation / Re: Theymos reputation thread on: December 09, 2023, 09:51:41 PM
Theymos reputation thread
This title is honestly catchy...it attracted me to this thread.

4) theymos, will casinos be next to be banned?
Casinos cannot be banned. Yea, this is because gambling has been in existence before this forum and bitcoin was created. But in the other hand, there is a mixer because there is Bitcoin.

5) theymos, do you plan to introduce KYC on the forum if the authorities so require?

Yes, theymos will do that if the authorities request. Alternatively, he will shut the forum of try to move it to another part of the world. He said it.
615  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Would you pay $1M dollars worth of BTC or USDT for an El Salvadorian passport? on: December 09, 2023, 09:34:32 PM
Does anyone know the benefits thereof? There must be benefits that will warrant people to pay upto 1m dollars to go El Salvador. Maybe after the developmental stage of the program, if the program is matured, the country will start paying back to the donors or something like that?

The idea is not really bad, because it is innovative. It is only bad because it is a country like El Salvador. If it was US, many people will buy the idea.
616  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Someone Deposited Money Into My Bitcoin Wallet. Can He Withdraw it? on: December 09, 2023, 09:22:16 PM
Someone owed me money and he wanted to pay me in Bitcoin.
So I gave him my Bitcoin wallet address and he transferred the funds.
It's now complete.
But can he now withdraw the money since he has my bitcoin wallet address?

This is the kind of questions that google will answer instead of bringing same to this forum because it is obviously a low level question per say. But since there is a question, there must be an answer and some persons have answered you above. No one withdraws your money from the fiat bank using your account number only.

Bitcoin transactions are irreversible and if the transaction is confirmed, that's final.

It is fine that you included that if the transaction is confirmed. When I was a newbie, the statement that bitcoin transactions are irreversible nearly decieved me not until I realised that atleast 1 block need to confirm.
617  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Which amount of money is good for me to spend on DCA? on: December 08, 2023, 11:54:55 PM
Re: Which amount of money is good for me to spend on DCA?
Do you know the idea behind DCA?
The major idea behind DCA is not how much you invest in bitcoin but how consistent you are . Someone who is doing DCA weekly with $50 and is consistent is better than someone doing DCA $200/wk and is no where near consistency. The idea behind DCA is for you to be able to invest in bitcoin in a passive way whereby you won't feel the pressure of the investment. If you are doing DCA and still being scared of being broke or not have anything left after investment, I am sorry to announce to you that you are doing the wrong version of DCA.

1 year ago, I changed my personal text to I reTURN to Eden. Maybe, I had a prophesy of your project.
Honestly, I am sick of the current world. I have chosen to return to Eden of possibilities, a world where we all will be blameless.
Congratulations and success!
619  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Help with saving my fund. DOT. on: December 04, 2023, 11:45:11 PM
So Firstly what I would do is not hodl shit coins
Secondly op from your explanation you made a great loss which would have been avoided if you hodl Bitcoin.
My conclusion is stop hodling shit coins but instead hodl Bitcoin.
This advice can be considered as a lesson that OP has learnt already. With respect to the question in OP, what actually do you advise the Op should do about his portfolio in -80%?

I have some DOT, and it is down ~80% today from total allocation...

There was no such reduction in the price of the Dot that you are writing about today. Moreover, starting from October, the price of the Dot coin increases every day. So your concerns are unfounded and you just need to focus on the hold. Or do you consider the decrease in the price of the coin from high, which occurred in 2021? If this is the case, then you decided too late to take measures to save your deposit.
That is the only thing I can advice. Hold and wait till bull run, the coin could recover upto 50% and you can sell. I made a similar mistake with Shiba in 2021 and I am still at lose upto -70%
620  Economy / Economics / Re: Life is cheaper with Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies in general on: December 04, 2023, 11:25:59 PM
Life is cheaper with Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies in general
Just say life is cheaper with bitcoin. The clause of cryptocurrency at large that you included didn't go well with me. Some altcoins are shitty and involving them seems more like gambling. Altcoins can be worse than fiat. This is because fiat does not vanish, it retains its value, just that the purchasing power must have been tarnished by inflation. But in the case of some altcoins, they vanish into the tin air while a thousand new ones are created.

Bitcoin is a saviour, but the worse part of it is that many people are yet to realise. Bitcoin will save you from inflation and also promises to return investment for you.
