601  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Is this a result of a poor investment plan or what? on: March 21, 2024, 06:54:15 PM
Sometimes, we might think that this Nollywood actors are making huge cash, because we see them on TV, and in big houses with expensive cars and cloth, but it is not the same in real life. This was why some of time, thought that bit was easy to sing, and sang some weird songs then, be cause music gives more money in the country than what the Nollywood actors get. So they are not as rich as we think.

However, some of them failed to invest during their reign, because they believed that they will continue reigning forgetting that there is a point in time that it is what you accumulated during your days of making money that will sustain you in the future, if you invest it. Some of them might have also invested but their investment failed.

Maybe the sickness is the has already taken all that they have invested, and still no cure, because I heard when Mr. Ibu said that he has spent everything he has an there is still no improvement. So only God knows what is the curse of their sickness that is leading to their death.
Well you said something there mate, like they say not all that glitters is gold because I believe that's the mentality of almost every Nigerian citizen towards the movie actors. Sometimes life can be full of surprises and not preparing for it can break you down and I don't know how these actors planned their life but one thing is also certain that when it comes to sickness no one really plans for that and it just the mercy of God to finally save someone and for Mr. Ibu case he was so unfortunate and left us but still at that some can have everything and still go broke trying to fix himself so we should try and look at things from a wider approach too.
602  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Ripple Is biggest Enemy of Bitcoin on: March 21, 2024, 06:36:09 PM
Bitcoin has a marketcap of over $1.31 trillion. Ripple has a marketcap of less than $35 billion.
Ripple is centralized as shit but Bitcoin is decentralized
There is ripple reserve that ripple use to scam people but bitcoin has no hidden reserve. All bitcoin sent to your wallet can be withdrawn, unlike ripple with ripple reserve.
If you say ripple is bitcoin competitor, either you are drunk or you do not know what you are saying.
Bitcoin will certainly cripple ripple coin. I believe some person don't do any research whatsoever Before starting up to write all sort of jargons that they possibly think of because I believe the OP is probably just seeking attention to himself because looking at the market price cap and other stats, it's vividly clear that Bitcoin and ripple coin are no mate and not in the same league whatsoever infact I believe in the crypto space Bitcoin hasn't got no competitors as it clearly beats all other coins.
603  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Spending extra to keep my assets out of trouble on: March 21, 2024, 06:29:18 PM

Nothing must confuse you to connect your main wallet to any platform even if it's the real platform for token swap, because you might think it's safe and these people have their ways with your hardware wallet later on.

It was wise of you not to connect your wallet to that platform, as it's always advised to have a separate wallet for any tokens, airdrops, or faucets that require you to connect your wallet to their site. For a long time, many people have been victims of incidents where they connect their real wallets to unknown or malicious faucet sites and unfortunately get scammed, losing their funds.
As a long-term holder, you should consider holding reputable coins like Bitcoin in a hardware wallet where you don't always have to connect to a third party for upgrades. This is another reason why I don't trust most altcoins or tokens out there today. We should all be smart and vigilant to avoid mistakes that could put our funds at risk and leave us frustrated.
Well I don't have much to say but just for the fact anything that has to do with connecting my main wallet online is definitely a no no for me because you don't have to be experience with you losing some funds to actually know that these things are real and many lose their coins always because of cases like this. Although for your investment on altcoins am not against it but if you ask me I think even if you are having other investment you should probably hold Bitcoin at a larger ratio and also have it on a separate wallet to avoid losing funds due to the fact that you are trying to upgrade your altcoins.
604  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Where do you stand on: March 21, 2024, 06:05:45 PM
Question
  • Where do you stand, do you want the dip or should the price continue to raise?
Though I stand with those who will want the dip in order to acquire more BTC, since I didn't HODL as much as I would had planned because of I had some expenses to take care of.
  • Also have you taken all your profit or you are taking bit by bit or still HODLing all?
Actually I took most earlier since I had expenses to cover though I have some left
Honestly, I consider myself as yet a late investor who still has a long way to go accumulating good portions of Bitcoin, my approach to accumulating Bitcoin seems slow due to my source of income, so It's like being stuck in the middle but since it's beyond our reach to make it happen we just observe and use every price mark to our own advantage.

I haven't taken any portion of my Bitcoin, I want to keep adding even more not deflecting my investment. This could be the need as to which we advise every one to keep aside savings or emergency funds so we don't have to touch our Bitcoin portfolio all in the name of solving problems.

Whether you are a late investor or am early investor I think it really doesn't matter that much because even some of the early investor sold off their huge Bitcoin because of the lack of discipline to saving your Bitcoin investment.

The thing about saving your coins is that some person go about not fully equipping themselves with the measures that are necessary for having a successful investment which are having double source of income, will power and also a strict mentality so to enable you jump pass some unnecessary expenses.

606  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Almost made a bad investment decision today 🥺🥺 on: March 21, 2024, 06:04:42 AM
I almost made a bad investment decision today, i was at the verge of investing on a low value market cap altcoin not to mention the name.
I was just searching for a coin that I can invest a little funds on to hold for the next five years, I had already picked up my phone to complete transaction before it occurred to me that I should always make informed decisions, it was then I found out that I was just carried away by the price of the coin ☺️, with this conciousness I decided to do a little research and analysis, I found out that the coin is on a massive decline with a strong double top pattern heading towards the neckline ,which is a strong indication of a future down side move. So in cause of this experience, I learnt a very important lesson , always do an in-depth research and analysis before committing funds to an investment decision.

When making a investment in a coin, you need to be careful and have carried out your study about the coin, because not all coin invested in will yield you profit.thats why most people are just informed money money, this set of people are people who don’t have much knowledge but take a look at the smart money, this are people with knowledge of crypto space and I advice we shouldn’t make a investment plan without much background check about a coin

It's absolutely crazy for any crypto enthusiast to actually finalize on investing in any coins without him or her properly making a thorough check on the coin because when you talk about the vastness of the crypto space well I believe it's just quite unreasonable for any person not to check on any coin before making or taking a decision about a particular coin. Just the other day my friend was very anxious to actually put some cash on the new Solana meme coin BOME which had just been listed on binance exchange and I carefully asked me the reason why he said because has a feeling that the coins will yield him good profit looking at how rapid it has been pumping which for me is crazy because that coin can drop drastically as same way it took in pumping up.
607  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is It Time to Buy More BTC? on: March 20, 2024, 10:59:36 PM
I've been watching with interest as Bitcoin has pulled back over the past week after hitting new highs. Part of me wants to accumulate more while the price is down, but I also wonder if we may see it drop further in the short term.

Well there are good arguments on both sides. On one hand, the long-term outlook for Bitcoin remains very bullish as adoption increases. Even major institutions continue entering space, and trends like halvings may lead to new all-time highs over the coming years. But on other hand, factors like the upcoming Fed meeting could continue to bring volatility in the short-term.

I also think this price drop may present a good buying opportunity for someone looking to DCAing and I'm also looking to buy more BTC especially since BTC's price is low and there's zero fees on Bitget. Of course, as with any investment, only put in what you can afford to lose.

So, even if it dips further short-term, history tells us Bitcoin tends to go up in the long run.
For me I feel every opportunity that present it self in a period like this is a good one and by that I meant the DIP that comes with the price value. Many Bitcoin enthusiast still believe we are currently not in the real bull market yet but I think I would like to beg the differ because the rate of the pumping can't be seen and ignore so I believe every and any opportunity that the price dumbs is the best time to buy and also the best to do. Don't hesitate Because this is not the type of market that would house a serious decline in the price so no matter what you do just remember that the bull pushes more forward Than price dip
608  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Streamer's fan took his own life due to addiction on: March 20, 2024, 10:47:27 PM
The society gets influenced easily, especially when there is a fake hope of getting rich from a particular thing. This is why it is easy for those influencers to lure people into gambling, because they are after their own pocket, and for that reason these influencers can just lie and lead people astray. Gambling has being a vice that is currently used to destroy the future of youths that gambles for profit, because when they can no longer cope with their losses, they commit suicide thinking that it is the only way out.
Influencers and advertisers who promote gambling frequently do so in a deceptive or misleading way. They may disregard the risks involved or make false promises about the potential rewards. Not just the influencers, Many gambling companies also use predatory marketing practices to lure people in. They may offer freebies or bonuses to get people started, and then gradually increase the stakes, making it harder and harder to walk away. This is a serious problem.
Well then I think the problem is actually from the gamblers then, because I believe if you are discipline and strick with your gambling habit then all these promotions and promises wouldn't be of any challenges to you because you would already be on the mentality that you have a specific gambling rules which pushes you farther away from getting stuck in chasing losses or winnings in any casino that you involve yourself in gambling.
609  Other / Off-topic / Re: The more You gamble for money the more You become sad with Gambling on: March 20, 2024, 10:40:58 PM
Gambling primarily is for entertainment,  casinos should be seen as entertainment houses,  in other to get the positive outcome of it, but sadly Gambling have been taken to mean a way of making profits which have made many gamblers to end in the negative destinations.

If you ask a gambling addicts today what causes their addictions and level of loses, they all point out to chasing winning as one of the primary causes of it, and at that we need to raise the awareness on the subject matter of monetary gambling.

What have your gambling for money experience brings to you, are you a sad gamblers that chase the money, and how have it been with you over the years, have you been able to make a profits that eradicate your sadness?
Well I can't actually speak for everyone but IMO I think most gambler that chase winning or loses don't exactly have it good with gambling because the shit makes dem crazy and they never really know when to stop until the whole bankroll is actually emptied. This kind of habit was something I almost grew into but luckily for me, a friend actually told me the secret which so many people aren't getting right and that is ""everyone is bound to lose and win so you using huge funds makes it more harder for you because the loses will have greatly toll on you"", he told me this and show me his bankroll then I realized that the dude is actually telling the truth because there are lots of gamblers that have won big and not by increasing their stake but they played and predicted it for fun but as for fun it also came through by chance for but other think with high funds comes lesser risk which is a very big lie because of odds of 1.02 can eventually spoil your game.
610  Local / Politics and society (Naija) / Re: Can someone with a monthly salary of 200k keep a small family in this economy? on: March 19, 2024, 07:15:54 PM
This question has been bothering me for a while. Hence I brought it here. With the way things are right now in Nigeria. Is it possible??

Omo it's depends sha, because many factors sef dey to consider when you talk about this matter and I believe some of them has been dropped by others. 200k currently now in this country na almost nothing but if you are staying maybe in a rural place with maybe atleast where the cost is somehow reduce then I believe the person fit manage and also it depends what you define or call as a small family, if na the one with mother, father and child or children maybe two or three then it's still possible with strick planning and also side hustle involved in the monthly salary.

612  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Recovering gambling addict stories on: March 19, 2024, 06:34:20 PM
The thing is that some persons are actually bound to be addicted to gambling no matter what so it just depends on how you decide to go with your gambling habit because i believe everyone knows what and what isn't good and what is good when we gamble but still yet some person decide to go the extra miles to actually monetize their account or habit. Gambling can wreck only if you decide to go the wrong way with it and believe me it's really hard to get out from it when fully involved.
613  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling Is Legal In Our Country But if You Promote It Online You'll Go To Jail? on: March 18, 2024, 10:54:05 PM
I find this unusual and weird I live in a country where gambling is legal there are lotto outletss in every corner, there are horse racing betting outlet and there are online betting station that originates in our country and yet there is a pending bill that if you're going to post or talk about gambling you'll likely going to get fine of 500k pesos or $90k and you will also land in jail.

So if you post that you won in horse racing or you post the winning bets in daily lottery you will likely get charged and penalize, so what do you think of this law, is this right?

Quote
"In this regard, this representation proposes the prohibition of online publication of materials that instruct or demonstrate gambling, commentaries, and advertisements that promote awareness of gambling activities,"

Senate bill seeks ban on pro-gambling online content
Fucking crazy man, I mean I have never seen anything like this, when you talk about odd rules, I think I rate this one as one among the high ranks because it's totally absurd for gambling to be done locally every where but no one can publish it online. Well it would be nice knowing such country so that I will remember to stay off it because what's the joy in gambling when you don't get post online, I mean so many people literally thrills from the joy they get through some of these kind of restricted activities.
614  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sports that you don’t watch but you keep placing bets on: March 18, 2024, 10:47:30 PM
Do you have a sports that you keep betting on even though you don’t watch this sports live or you don’t know the full specifications of this game?
No I don’t have any sport that I don’t watch and I do gamble on it. The only sport which I do gamble on is football, and it’s what I watch mostly, I don’t gamble on any other sport, maybe because am not interested in them or maybe one of the most popular sport in my country is football, you will hardly hear about any other sport, so I gamble on football alone. If you are gambling on sport which you don’t follow up, or sport which you have no knowledge about, then I will say you are just wasting your money, because their is higher chances that you are going to lose after placing bet on sports like that, and I don’t know the fun which you will be deriving from that.

Most of the people that I know which are gambling on sport which they have no knowledge about, most of them are the once which are always depending on people making predictions so they do follow their predictions, because how will you randomly gamble on sport which you have zero knowledge about.
I understand the point you are making but from where am standing something tells me you are not that much of a gambler because I believe if you are then you would understand that there is actually nothing like wasting your money because no one is ever certain of their winning because if they are then the whole gambling thing will have another whole twist to it and moreover before going to gamble, you must have isolated the particular funds so that even if or when you lose it, it won't be as if you actually wasted your money.
615  Local / Politics and society (Naija) / Re: The causes of hunger in Nigeria on: March 17, 2024, 10:01:28 PM
Bro no too para much, the problem here is that people don't just want to learn so the keep defaulting, if you advice them, they will be ready to take corrections and correct themselves, how will a reputable member of this forum comment on this kind of post, some newbies are very funny, if learner continue like this how will such learner get merited by post reviewers.
If they don't get merit, the will get tired not knowing that they are the cause of there problem, why can't a newbie write an educative something must they come up with already existing thread, there are many things to write in respect to Bitcoin, the community is growing today because some members here decided to take it upon themselves to research on things relating to Bitcoin and come here to share with us, what is here to learn from this over stressed thread.

Bro this matter don too vex me, na something dey make person dey change, when I start to advise people to luck thread some of them been dey follow up, but after some while I come see say some of this men no dey hear word, after if don tell them say the topic and the thread na spamming them go still leave am like that without locking the thread. Aside am, we know of top men Dem wey no dey near here because of the behaviors of newbies, na so some of them go enter politics and society board dey go talk rubbish, all those ones still dey ground while even for here we go come dey see rubbish for our own house.

Even if say we get plans to become the No1 most active local board, no be with post spamming we go take do am oo, if we use that method Dem go just see us as cheaters/ dishonest persons, and that go just bring bad name join wattin those newbies dey go do for other boards.

Newbies make una try learn from people wey get plenty merit, up to Sr member because by that rank you don get enough forum experience, except say una want am the hard wey to use to learn😡
Oga this your voltage ⚡ this evening na wa oo, omo but I know how frustrating e be sha when you tell person something and still yet the person no day learn but tagging all the newbie account why day do this to some extent no be the right thing to do sha because I believe say e get some person wey day post like this now why still potential in them to turn quality posters in the future and just say den still day get the wrong vibe and energy to their post patterns.
616  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Is meme risk worth the reward? on: March 17, 2024, 09:53:32 PM
Okay, here's why I'm here. I've been noticing memecoins trending lately, such as Pepe, Doge, Shiba, WIF, Wen, Myro, which started the charge. Before newer Solana memes like Peng, Brett (this one is on the base Blockchain), and recently Bome, making impressive gains. My question to my fellow Nigerians is, for those on the meme train:

1.How do you spot these memecoins quickly?

2.For someone like me who doesn't use dex, which cex is the best for listing early trending memes?

3. Is the reward worth more than the risk?

And any suggestions you could give.
There are some certain persons in the crypto space that would beg to differ when it comes to the use of these coins because there are already shot term traders and gamblers and the reason I say gamblers is because these coins are never a guarantee and that's the biggest part of gambling which is not being sure enough but the varse majority of crypto traders would not agree because they are the one benefiting from these coins.
617  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How your feels? on: March 17, 2024, 09:47:33 PM
Since I first got to know crypto gambling, I didn't use Bitcoin as my transaction tool - I preferred to use USDT, because I thought that using Bitcoin was quite unfortunate only for trivial activities like gambling. I don't know the reason why many gamblers prefer Bitcoin in their gambling, but I feel that it is a waste considering Bitcoin's future potential and it is not worth it to gamble Bitcoin just to win a few tens of dollars. It is possible that those who gambled their Bitcoins now feel regretful, because they should have been able to get more than by gambling their Bitcoins before.
There is always some kind of regretful feeling among people who used big portions of their bitcoin for various reason when the price was low because now that the price has gone up all what you would think of is the possible profit that the same figure of bitcoin used would have fetched you.  My stay in the crypto space hasn't been that long but when it comes to ever gambling online on crypto casino, USDT is certainly the more preferable option.
618  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin becoming Legal tender on: March 17, 2024, 09:40:55 PM
Bitcoin becoming legal tender is the stuff of miracles if I am being honest with you op. There are so many variables due to which the possibility of it happening is pretty much zero which is a fact.

It's best not to get too greedy. Personally, I am completely satisfied with where BTC is at the moment and I hope it stays that way for a long period.

Many people always say that they want bitcoin to follow the path that Satoshi created for bitcoin, they want to pay their daily bills with bitcoin...But honestly, if bitcoin was only used as currency and didn't have any volatility or profit. How many people will use bitcoin until today? I believe that there will not be too many people who want bitcoin to become a stable currency, and the majority of people are satisfied with what bitcoin has become. Because making a lot of money and becoming rich is the common goal of today's society and bitcoin is doing it very well.
The pure truth is that the only reason why bitcoin still out-beats the other cryptocurrency is because of the volatility and its ability to serve as a store of value for investors means and if you check the ratio of persons that are of the idea of using bitcoin as saving its definitely more than than those actually using it for day to day transactions.  Bitcoin turning to stable currency will lead to decline of its use because more people are happier saving their bitcoin rather than spending it.
619  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I've projected my holding after this bull run. what's yours? on: March 17, 2024, 09:08:58 PM

I'm just here to ask you all especially those who are newly investors to this bitcoin investment platform like me that WHAT WOULD YOU DO WITH YOUR FIRST INVESTED FUNDS AFTER THE BULL RUN?
Well I think another of person might still probably sell off and plan to buy back again especially when after the bull but the issue is that how would you preserve the funds till that time comes and thats why its important to know what to do with the profit and even the capital joined together,  well for me I think I will just sell off and then use the fiat to purchase an asset which I can sell off that would give me profit or have value overtime like the way bitcoin works and the only asset I feel can do so is land.
620  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Simple mistake that makes you lose everything on: March 16, 2024, 10:53:47 PM
I always have this kind of mistake before way back when I’m still inexperienced gambler. A simple mistake such as not placing a bet on a round that result to massive win just because my screen glitch makes me tilted that resulted to lose focus and bust all my bankroll quickly due to risky bets.

There’s some instances that I’m already winning big on blackjack then one of my bet is a pair of 10 which I accidentally double down instead of stand while I place huge bet triggers me a lot that result to terrible loss.

I’m sure many players here experience this kind of minor mistakes that resulted to terrible outcome. Share your story and let’s have fun hearing it. I hope there’s no BS story…
Well, I can definitely relate to the instance you are given because me myself have experience this countless times but mine isn't on a game blackjack but rather on virtual soccer games because I really don't derive interest in some casino slot games. The one among the two errors that am more frequent with will be the one where I mistakenly place a bet with above the normal funds intended to bet the game and the results are always something else as it never favours and again anytime I agree to even increase my stake it always end bad for me and I feel maybe I become too extra careful with stake.
