601  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: how much can you make weekly? on: September 27, 2015, 09:11:07 PM
Still a newbie here. I can make $10 weekly, I'm working for someone who paid me 0.004/day. In a week I get about $7 worth of bitcoin, the rest I get from playing faucets. Now I'm saving money so I that can try other business such as trading and investing/loaning my BTC.
May I ask what you are doing in order to earn $7 bitcoin a week? It would be good to know because I can use all the extra income I can get.
602  Other / Off-topic / Re: Will you quit your day job to go full time on bitcoin? on: September 27, 2015, 07:47:31 PM
Im not sure want to Quit from my main job to focus at bitcointalk,
i think better i get passive income ( basically $money) from real job than focus to bitcoin

You are not sure? So in one nook of your mind you think to leave your normal work for focusing in bitcointalk? So, discussing in bitcointalk, you think that can give you the needed money (according to your thoughts in your nook only) to reckon with your life, to assure the money for make living normally yourself and your family.

You are a genius. I love to stay in bitcointalk and stay there to many hours. But I haven't found this way to have such profits from it. can you please share with me your discovery? I swear to give 10% of my profits. If are in amounts mentioned above naturally.

I am also a bit confused with all the "Bitcoin is not stable enough to make earning them my full time job" comments. How do you go about earning BTC as a full time job? As far as i know, you can't just pick up a pick axe and start mining.

Over here i'm earning a fair bit from mining and even though its a more or less 24/7 maintenance thing, its hardly a full time job. And if i was willing to accept minimal loss to downtime from not being here in person to fix something when it break, i could still work 2 full time job and still earn nearly just as much with Bitcoin.
Yeah. I'm not sure if I should even bother with my CakePHP portfolio or education and just focus on posting on this forum. Surely I can pay for all my rent and expenses off the signature campaigns. There must be a way if you've figured it out.
603  Other / Politics & Society / Panhandlers/street beggers by local area on: September 27, 2015, 07:18:21 PM
What are the panhandlers like in your city? Here in Vancouver, the provincial government offers a minimum housing allowance ($375 CAD per month) plus $500 for total expenses to people with disabilities and those who are having difficulty finding work (disabled people get more money). There are many buildings around the city for people on welfare who cannot afford to live anywhere else. Still it is a very expensive city and the wait lists are very long to get into affordable housing. In my hometown, there is a lot of unhoused people but I know several people in my building and many other housed people who panhandle. (They got a gripe against me since I code and post for what I need). Furthermore 95% of all panhandlers panhandle for drugs.

Then I get on the plane and go to New York City, and something I didn't expect happen people begging on the subway. To my surprise, many people would give the begger money and they may rake in $100 in a quick 3 minute train ride. The homeless in New York were way more honest and a lot more polite about asking commuters for money. Back home, panhandlers feel a sense of entitlement to other peoples hard earned money and will often swear and yell at people who do not give them money. The New York psanhandlers were way more sucessful getting spare change.

What are panhandlers like in the city you live in?
604  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: bitcoin.com down wtf? on: September 27, 2015, 06:54:20 PM
I don't understand, why this splitting of the community? This is bad for the whole Bitcoin ecosystem. We don't need 10 freaking forums, we need to unite all of together on one forum.

I think that we already have enough of the competition outside of the Bitcoin space for us to waste energy between us in this way.

Bitcointalk is the first and the oldest one. We need everybody here, together!
If you look around the internet, once a technology grows and becomes more popular, it's only natural for other sites to open up and compete. To the owner's credit, they do have a better layout than us.
605  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: 21 Bitcoin Computer or Cloud Mining Website ? on: September 27, 2015, 06:49:56 PM
If I had to choose between the two I would go for the 21 computer. It seems like an interesting innovation and has a lot of potential in building the Bitcoin economy. I don't know if I would buy the computer, but I would consider it since I get free electricity. Cloud miners always run off with their investors' money.
606  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Did you earn some bitcoin today? on: September 26, 2015, 08:06:08 PM
I just checked my post count this week and learning CakePHP has not prevented me from making my minimum post count this week. I have been spending my time on the internet learning that framework to get a job. I've read on this forum that simply specializing in one framework is enough to obtain stable employment.
607  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I want to store bitcoin in USD without transferring to my bank? on: September 26, 2015, 08:00:41 PM
Most major cities have exchanges where you can in-person sell your Bitcoins for cash. You walk in, sell your Bitcoin and leave with cold hard cash. If not, look on localbitcoin.com and you can find an in person exchange near where you live.
608  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: earn bitcoins quickly on: September 26, 2015, 07:34:15 PM
There is no way to quickly earn money when you suddenly need it. The best thing I have found is developing a long-term solution (IE getting a job) is the best way to quickly earn money. If you're a designer, build a portfolio and try to get hired. Same if you're a writer. I have found the best extra revenue source are signature campaigns.
609  Economy / Economics / Re: Best way to make a living online? on: September 26, 2015, 07:28:40 PM
I have been interested in the various ways there are of making money on the internet. From the GPT/PTC sites to others like swagbucks.com, I have been earning money online since 2009. At the time, I was still skeptical of making money online at all to begin with yet so Bitcoin was out of the question. Now from what I see the best methods involve bitcoin. Today, finding a job writing or programming or something similar online in exchange for bitcoin seems to be the way to go these days. What do you do to earn extra income online?

I have started with faucets. But did not last long. To tedious and not at all profitable. Then continued with cloud mining. Participated in two of those, In the first earned about 1 btc in the second lost about 1 btc (scammers). Now I am happy signature campaign and a game that like to much. Can be played and can be earned. In the free time play and write. In the rest of time the everyday job but that have nothing to do with online.
It is true that at the end of the day getting a real job in the actual world is the best way to go. What I have learned is unless you're skilled (ie a programmer or a designer) you aren't going to get far making a stable income online. Opportunities come and go and it is a lot of hard work.
610  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Best way to earn Bitcoins? on: September 26, 2015, 12:55:54 AM
try to invest some revenue sharing site in these days lot of revenue sharing site is come but invest only on trusted site from these site u can earn huge profit just by investing a liitle amount of btc
All of those sites 100% of the time are ponzi schemes that go up and run off with investors' money. Happened to me too often to trust such a scheme again.

The phone just tuned on fine and lights up at the bottom of the phone. It just need a new screen backlight. Bumping this thread.
612  Economy / Economics / Re: What's pushing up the price today ( Sept 24th ) on: September 25, 2015, 08:18:25 PM
And why are they all buying today?

If I'm not mistaken, Bitcoin has recently been officially classed as a commodity in the US (by the CFTC). That means it can be traded like gold or oil at, say, Nymex (oil) or Comex (gold)...

Meanwhile, in Soviet Russia possession of Bitcoin (let alone trading) is about to become a criminal offense

No... they are banning it's use for buying things...  Like they are doing with the USD, etc unwittingly which is amusing to me.
Wow. That's really crazy. It's classified as an commodity in the capitalist world and illegal like drugs in Russia. Hilarious.
613  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Methods of growing your Bitcoin? on: September 25, 2015, 08:13:49 PM
You can grow your Bitcoin by lending them out to people on this forum. Only accept deals from lenders who can provide collateral worth more than the loan itself that is easily liquidize-able and don't deal with people with negative trust ratings. I'm working on a CakePHP app that offers a more secure lending platform that eliminates scammers. BTCJam should be avoided at all costs.
614  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are you holding your bitcoin for a price increase? on: September 25, 2015, 04:45:08 AM
The price increase is practically guaranteed, just a matter of when. I'm holding my bitcoin for the long haul. I want to be a part of the new financial world that will be created around bitcoin.

And the thing is, most people will sell way too earlier. No matter what you think as the ideal time to sell, people will not know when to do it right. Most likely they will sell sooner than they should. Make no mistake I pretend to sell at least 50% once I feel the price is insanely bubbled but for me thats like 6 figures a coin.

Good luck with that one. Circle is backstabbing the community, coinbase is trying to coin the entire market with patent hording, Bitpay is about to go belly up, and the core developers are playing tiddlywinks instead of fixing one line of code. How hard is it to change a '1' to an '8'. lol
I agree. 6 figures a coin is quite optimistic, but I don't see Bitcoin as just an investment. It's a new currency changing the way we bank and handle money. In the future, more people will become aware of it's potential but I don't think the price will hit $1 million. I say prepare to prosper with Bitcoin over the long haul and the future.
615  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Cold storage/physical bitcoin wallets killing bitcoin economy? on: September 24, 2015, 09:32:19 PM
There isn't anything wrong with keeping your bitcoins saved in a secure place. If I were to store $1 million in a bank it is definitely not going to hurt the mainstream economy. Savings are not a concern to the price of bitcoin. More awareness of the technology and its awareness is needed to boost the economy.
616  Other / Off-topic / Re: How do you make money online? on: September 24, 2015, 09:10:59 PM
There are several way of making money online, but there is a common misconception that making a profit online is easy. It is not easy. You need to have a marketable skill and some kind of talent to make it big on the internet. There is also a lot of self discipline that goes into the work you are doing. It is like any other job and the money does not come on it's own.
617  Economy / Services / Re: We'll share 1000$ with you. on: September 24, 2015, 08:28:58 PM
I can not for the life of me stand the horrible layout on that site. There is no way I would post on that forum and Bitcointalk is a more established community. I liked the board layout here. I do not like web forums that use linear format.
618  Economy / Economics / Re: Banks Suck on: September 24, 2015, 08:15:49 PM

Now, the questions to you are...

what is the value of bitcoin if anyone can borrow as much as they want at a low interest rate?
Bitcoin's value comes from it's deflationary nature and the fact that it is a new technology with many applications that make it way superior to any fiat currency. If more people were not as ignorant as you are, more people would be using it
Quote

does it matter how many bitcoins there actually are when this is going on?
Well, yes and no. This hypothetical Bitcoin bank has many possible customers and new money from new and existing customers are always being deposited in the bank. In most instances where people do not pay back their Btcoin loan, their collateral gets sold. The banks usually send threatening letters to foreclose your home if you do not pay off your loan and you lose your real estate investment. There is alwayys collateral involved and banks usually go after people who do not pay credit cards bills with threatening lawsuits. These kind of intimidation tatics apply to Bitcoin.

Everything is fine as long as people don't ask to withdraw more than 100 bitcoins at a time and all loans are paid back.
As stated above the bank can still recover owed money
Quote
This is how banking systems work at their core.

Now, this is different from central banks. You don't deposit your money with central banks. Central banks exist to keep the banking system from falling apart. Rules are set to determine all sorts of things that relate to banks to keep the system from blowing up. You don't need a central bank but without something like it, you end up with a system where people create banks, make stupid loans and lose everyone's money.

Many countries have a completely government controlled banking system. In the US, it is a mix of public/private institutions and you can start your own bank (or credit union or whatnot).
As I said above, banks have many tactics to go after peoples money. Collector calls, sending thugs, destroying your credit score, foreclosing your home, selling your business, and many many other nasty tactics they still go after your money. The federal reserve is stealing from the wealth of the US economy every time a new dollar is printed. There is nothing that is backing the US dollar other than the falling American economy. If the central banking system worked so well, why does America experience increasing amount of debt? Bitcoin is based on a technology that takes time to find its true value. The dollar will collapse and Bitcoin will probably take over.
619  Other / Off-topic / Computer Science degrees -a good investment? on: September 24, 2015, 07:38:56 PM
Is paying all the tuition and expenses and all the hard work that goes into earning a computer science degree worth the investment or does experience over time pay for itself? Right now, YouTube makes it easy for anyone to learn computer programming and everything else related to computer is availible online. Even google has developed the technology to teach the masses of an intro computer studies class at the university level. I hated that course. I did not learn anything new and felt like I was wasting my college fund. The prof in the intro to VB.NET course had a style of teaching that does not suit me and I failed his midterm. (Keep in my I did not to the practice exercise, I was a bit arrogant at the time). Still that being said. Valve Corporation hired Bram Cohen, creator of BitTorrent, who as far as I know dropped out of college.

In my opinion, unless you're going to MIT it's not worth it. Even at MIT the only value is the MIT name and the experience of going to the world's leading technology institution. I find even that, considering the cost, is not worth it for me. And since I fall asleep during lectures it would be way to tedious for me to do practice assignments and I may end up failing. Experience pays for itself.
620  Other / Meta / Re: Why bitcointalk.org Looks so Bad on: September 24, 2015, 07:25:43 PM
There is a new forum underway with lots of developers working on the project. I generally am used to posting from my laptop anyway but I genernally prefer it when forum administrators enable the Tapatalk plugin for my phone. I may not like the plane jane look of this forum anyway but to give to programmers at SMF credit, "plane jane" is suitable to any topic, and a theme like this is easily package-able. CakePHP for example comes with a similar plain looking theme that is easy for developers to work with. Customization is key.
