601  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What is Ripple's plans for XRP if the banks have do not use for XRP? on: October 06, 2018, 08:33:54 AM
i think this is partly because of the difference between Ripple and XRP. if banks ever use anything they will use Ripple not XRP. in a way it is like the difference between bitcoin and blockchain.
XRP is the centralized token that Ripple foundation has created and fully controls but Ripple is the protocol that has been around long before XRP and i think it was around by the time of bitcoin too. it is that protocol that banks are interested in the most.
602  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Reasons you should avoid selling out of panic on: October 06, 2018, 08:24:14 AM
a very good point here but also we should not forget about a different group of people who do the opposite extreme case of this suggestion meaning they hold on to whatever they have out of confusion and lack of understanding. not selling is not always a good option. you sometimes need to sell to prevent big losses that can take away all of your money. bag holding is never a good idea.
603  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Relationship between Altcoins and Bitcoin on: October 06, 2018, 08:11:33 AM
there is no relationship between bitcoin and altcoins and their prices. people make this relationship because of what they think is true and then perform based on that assumption so we sometimes end up with a certain behavior so you might think it is actually true.

the only thing that i can think of to be true is the behavior of traders who are in this market. they want profit and whenever bitcoin is stable they move to pump altcoins to make profit.
604  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: XRP can be used for real payments! on: October 06, 2018, 07:57:23 AM
any cryptocurrency can be used for "real payments"! even the shittiest and most broken projects out there. as long as there is a place that accepts them as payment.

but the real problem is not about some random place accepting them as payment, it is about whether people are going to actually use it. and in case of XRP i don't see anyone seriously using a centralized altcoin with a lot of problems while there are a lot of better and decentralized altcoins out there.
605  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ripple (XRP) Price Declines 8% While the Crypto Market Loses $9 Billion on: October 06, 2018, 07:47:17 AM
that is the nature of a pump and dump altcoin.
when they get pumped  everyone is super happy thinking that the coin is going to be the future of money so they start buying it and feed the whales as they become richer when they dump on them. and then comes this drop that you see, a continued dump for a while until the prices come down to reality.
606  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: ICO bountiess are a hazardous threat to the value of Bitcoins and Ethereum. on: October 06, 2018, 07:43:04 AM
if there is an effect it is going to be on Ethereum price and any other altcoin that are "tokens" for the ICOs not another third party cryptocurrency (bitcoin for example) that they may use for investment only. in other words a the end of the day when ICOs fail, bitcoin still is a currency and continues having its usefulness but those tokens such as ether become useless since there is no other usage for them apart from being a fuel for ICOs.

as for the dumping and the effects on the price of other coins, i can see that but it won't be specific to ICO tokens. any altcoin that is bought with bitcoin and is dumped by the bag holders to exit using bitcoin will affect bitcoin price.
607  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bakkt the Future of Bitcoin and cryptoworld? on: October 06, 2018, 07:38:45 AM
Bakkt news seems like one of the good news that we have heard this year but there is no way that a centralized service in US be the "future of bitcoin and cryptoworld" as you put it. it is still going to be A service and a centralized one at that.
608  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: About new BullRun. on: October 03, 2018, 07:24:40 AM
There is a lot of speculation about the start of the next bull run. At the moment we are seeing encouraging signs of stability, but people are still nervous when prices start to drop again after every mini-recovery.
Personally I do think we have bottomed out, but I think we might have a bit longer to wait before enough people are confident of this and the next bull run can start.

that is one of the main characteristics of a dump.
you can never expect the price to go down something like 95% in a short time like a day or a week. depending on the market size of the altcoin this can be a very long process to reach that percentage. and during that time what happens is that price goes down a little like 10-15% then it stops, the whales wait for people to buy back and let the price recover a little then they start dumping again to go down another 10-15% and continue doing this to reach that 95% drop eventually.
609  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: XRP or ETH? on: October 03, 2018, 07:05:51 AM
There is no stopping XRP ... it will be the currency of the NEW WORLD ORDER. I think ripple is becoming mainstream piece by piece, even gates believed in it

Lol, where did you get the idea that XRP will be mainstream? Its too centralise and the only thing it can do its to be a crypto-slave fiat system. ETH has a lot of support form this community so I have no doubt that it will still be the dominant altcoin unless its founders like Vitalik get out of the picture.
funny, it looks like he must know ripple first. crypto is decentralized and not centralized, why do they make it centralized? what is the purpose? it is not surprising that ripple is supported by various banks.

don't because the profit coming from the pump makes you blind to this.

there is a lot of profit in making an altcoin centralized and control everything about it. you will be in full control and you can make millions of dollars. for example in case of Ripple they own 100 billion tokens that they released slowly and dumped on the market to make money each time they did a pump. and they have the future of the token in their hands so it won't go in any direction that they don't want it too.

also no bank is supporting XRP, they are supporting  Ripple the technology and already a couple of them have jumped ship and used it for their own centralized blockchain.
610  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Some thoughts about market prospects. Let's argue on: October 03, 2018, 06:54:56 AM
Many people believe that the current situation in the market is a preparation for big growth.
majority of those people are saying things like this because they have bought those coins on top and are now desperate to get their money back and are hoping for the rise to happen sooner.

Quote
Allegedly, the market is ready for it and it will happen soon.
the market is still in recession trying to fix the pumps that happened last year. of course that is true about the biggest altcoins that are on top not all of the coins like the small cap coins at the bottom.

Quote
But I think that big wallets (powerful people with big money) have been made it specially to mislead us. In fact, there will be no growth in the next couple of years. What do you think about?
the "big wallets" don't care enough to make things like that. those statements were created by newbies losing money.
the big wallets are now making money elsewhere.
611  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: how to stay sane?? on: October 03, 2018, 06:48:47 AM
if you want to overcome your emotions and stress when the dumps come you have to start before you even invest. this means you have to first expect the dumps otherwise you will be surprised when they come. it is like never expecting the sun to go down and then panicking when it becomes dark!

when you expect the dumps you automatically will start planning ahead, which means having a solid sell plan to exit the pumped coin so that you don't lose money when they dump it.
612  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Stop comparing ETH with BTC!!!!!!!! on: October 03, 2018, 06:38:53 AM
the funny thing we always see topics doing this so called comparison but so far i have never seen any of them actually comparing the two. the topics are always pretty much the same! it starts with saying something along the lines of bitcoin is bad, ethereum is good so lets buy ether and the starter of the topic reeks of loss as ETH got dumped while he was bag holding!
613  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: CFTC Chairman Says Cryptocurrencies are Here to Stay on: October 03, 2018, 06:31:45 AM
this sounds like another SEC attempt to create chaos in the market.
we already know that they did it with ETF while showing interest and releasing statements from members about how they are positive about bitcoin then they rejected it and created more volatility. now again another positive looking statement and then another reject is on the way i am sure.
614  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Price Manipulated by Cryptocurrency Trading Bots: WSJ on: October 03, 2018, 06:17:50 AM
it is always easier to blame some entities for things we don't understand. in this case the price of bitcoin and how it has acted so far. of course there is manipulation but it is nowhere near what the articles such as this one portrays it. and usually they use things such as "bots" to scare people.
615  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum Vs. Bitcoin on: October 01, 2018, 08:59:55 AM
Sorry to burst the bubble for you but ETH won't reach Bitcoin price that easy.

it is so simple, it will never happen. not easy, not hard, not long, it will never happen.

and the reason is pretty simple. there is unlimited number of ETH available while bitcoin is capped at 21 million. when bitcoin is scarce ethereum is available like grains of sand.
not to mention that bitcoin is a world wide decentralized currency while ETH is one of many tokens used for ICOs on one out of at least 5 good ICO platforms including Waves and EOS.
616  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why the Ethereum Price is dramatically reducing ? on: October 01, 2018, 08:44:13 AM
we cannot say basic demand and supply for ETH. yes there should be demand for it in order for it to increase its value, beside, ETH supply is not that much, and miners are now at lost from mining it. I think there is some manipulation and sell off now. Yes, it is very dramatic but very fun to ride.

i don't know how you say "ETH supply is not that much"!!! when ethereum is one of the coins with the largest supplies! it currently has more than 100 million coins in circulation and the worst part of it all is that there is no cap meaning it can go on forever increasing the supply every second.
as for demand, it has always been speculators wanting pump and dump and ICO investors being forced to buy ETH to buy an ICO. and as they go away the price drops.
617  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: XRP whale alert on: October 01, 2018, 08:26:21 AM
the biggest whales of centralized altcoins like this are the foundations behind them which are controlling 90% of the supply. in case of Ripple you should worry about the fact that there is 100 billion supply and only a very tiny portion of it has been released to public!

whenever there is a pump they release new coins and dump it. there is no whale that can compete with that. so watching some arbitrary addresses will not give you any information. not to mention that coins moving doesn't mean a price fall.
618  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Knowledge from the bearish run on: October 01, 2018, 08:16:57 AM
the biggest lesson that you should have learned has been from the last year's bull run not from this year's dumping run. if you just learned the lesson then it is too late.
the lesson was that with every pump there will be a dump in the opposite direction and equally as big to come back down toe the ground. something like the Newton's principle Cheesy

Yeah if you just look at the chart in the long view, the big Rise in crypto from 2018 till december 2018 looks like a very big pump on the pong run. But i do think that the Price of cryptos may have reached a bottom now

when looking at the charts for long term you  should pay attention to two things. \
first is the cycles that the altcoins have. which starts with some accumulation at the bottom then a big rise to pump it to the top which slows down as newbies jump on board then a big dump that brings it back down.
the other is the price in bitcoin. sometimes when you look at the value of altcoins in USD you can be confused to see a rise while they have been getting dumped and that is because bitcoin price rise hides this dump in altcoins.
619  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Google lifts Crypto-Currency Add Ban! on: October 01, 2018, 08:04:18 AM
indeed this news has a positive and negative side, but in my opinion this is more positive than the negative side, with the news that Google has lifted the ban on crypto advertising, hopefully it can help the current market conditions to be better than now, because crypto is very sensite with negative or positive news.

i'd say this news is nothing. neither good nor bad. because eventually advertising a cryptocurrency related service or even cryptocurrencies (ICOs) on these platforms is not going to change anything about the future that decentralized coins such as bitcoin are headed towards.
we may see some hype in some areas but in the end people are not adopting bitcoin,... because of some ads.
620  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin 10 years anniversary, what good news are you expecting come 2019?. on: October 01, 2018, 07:57:18 AM
with all the downtrend and the stable phase for building up the foundation of the next rise we can be sure that 2019 will contain big rises because they will be no other way around it. for the same reason that you can not expect the price to continue to rise you can not also expect price to continue staying down.
