601  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why would you sell your new currency? on: April 09, 2013, 11:50:08 PM
Difference: We don't live in Bitcoin, it's not a country, and if it were it'd be akin to the Island of Nauru in that they have no exports and there is nothing to buy.

I live in Bitcoin land. The land where I have access to the Internet and can buy anything on the Internet with bitcoins (http://www.bitspend.net).

No, you live in the USA, but you hold stake in "bitcoinland" by holding bitcoins. Holding a stake in this conceptual kingdom is akin to holding property on the moon though. Anything can happen and those moon dollars can become pretty worthless if there are not rockets to support travel to and from.

no more like land in the us, there is a finite amount of land in the us, land values have always gone up,(over the long run) because of the fact that people want it and there is only so much to go around.the alaskin purchase is a good examle- we bout it for 2 cents per accer, now even with todays exchange rate do you think you could buy it for that much? ( just to let you know i did the calculations and that would come to 31 cents today) so go get your self an acer of land for 31 cents....oh they wont sell it to you for that much? hummm maybe because its like bitcoins, and the old adverb is true with both

don't wait to buy land bitcoins, buy land bitcoins and wait.

land is just land if noboby wants it or uses it.   that keyboard in your picture? (prob not you but just as example) sell it and in a year you could have ten of them. dont be mad about others making money, just get yourself a bitcoin or two and turn that frown upside down.

* Viceroy asks while bowing at BitcoinTate

How far can we go, sir?

When will it crash, sir?

Well my young apprentice, the farthest point we can observe is currently about 42 billion light years (the distance that light has been able to travel since the big bang began).

So if we take that and put it on an exponential graph and then double our answer we might be close!

As to a crash? What's a crash? I am sorry, I am not familiar with this term Wink

augh i was the first to post after mr tate...IM FAMIOUS BY KNOWING SOMEONE FAMIOUS! hahaha .... I was thinking he might be a bit crazy but also understanding what the gaph was suggesting and what the coins might do. so i went out and bought some damn bitcoins! hoooo rayyyy tate is the man!!!! ok lets start a new thread with your predictions. also make a low ball and a high ball prediction, that would be cool.
603  Economy / Speculation / Re: Yet another analyst :) on: April 09, 2013, 10:14:07 PM

604  Economy / Speculation / Re: bitinstiant will not return my call or my emails or live chat or my pms to charl on: April 09, 2013, 09:28:43 PM

thank you its a good read but my issue is that ya i can see that it might take an extra day or possibly till Monday..... i get it they want a day off. its Sunday and you want to just relax for once.  Grin but on Monday when you get back at work you see a message form someone who bought on sat and is still waiting on bitcoins......... shouldn't you call them back or at least shoot them an email saying that they will look into this problem. Shocked now its Tuesday after 5 and nothing still. so on to wednesday.  Cry

maybe to busy trying to be famous with his film crew to worry about some ones order Huh Huh

Have you tried PM'ing them on the board here?  I've never used bitinstant but I have seen them respond fairly quickly to posts around here.

yep yesterday i did. a pm to Charley, nothin so far.

thats why i thought i would make a thread about it, maybe it will get back to him???

Well, sounds like you tried everything.  That leaves only one last explanation....

The entire bitinstant team has been captured by terrorists.

damn terrorists!!! WE MUST SAVE THEM!!! hahahah

Bitinstant is getting bombarded night and day. I know this is hard to believe, but you're not the only person trying to buy.

I have never seen a single complaint they haven't addressed. My advice would be to give them the benefit of the doubt and not panic.

ya im very kind in my calls and my emails but after three days im like aughhhh. I know they are buisy and are being bombarded but i started a correspondence with them within 4 hours of not getting my coins and all the next day and all Monday and all today. I think i will see my 3.3332 coins but when? also what iff they say ok we will give you market rate now? well thats one hundred dollars ive lost per bitcoin so 330 bucks just gone? oh man i hope not ill be a little bit mad.

but i have used them about 9 other times and without complaints so i know i should be settled and calm and just waite. but seriously this is days not just a little interuption its flippen days

You'll get them in time to catch the peak and lose everything, don't worry Mr. Panic Buyer.

panic buyer? hum what if you bought somthing...anything for 500 dollars. a couch for your home ....a new dishwasher. anything. now say that anything was guaranteed in about an hour thats why you pay an additional 4% for this "fast service" and what if you just never here from them again. not a peep. i didn't panic buy i have put a percentage of my money into bitcoins since it was 14$.

also what if you lost 500 plus the possible bump in how much that was worth so a total of 850. are you telling me that you wouldn't at lest be a little concerned? wouldn't you try to do something about this?

dont judge people just help them, you dont want to be "that guy" do you?

Tough call, from even the slightest conventional point of view.

The bitcoin market is a market like any other - yes.

But bitcoin itself is a new thing.

I think nobody knows.  We're flying on guts here - you got 'em or you don't...

ill second that
611  Economy / Speculation / bitinstiant will not return my call or my emails or live chat or my pms to charl on: April 09, 2013, 07:38:56 PM

612  Economy / Speculation / Re: 10k$/BTC by the 31st December 2013? on: April 09, 2013, 07:07:40 PM
Won't happen.

Because there will be a point where people stop buying coins when they think they are too "expensive" ... "$1k for just 1 coin???"  Shocked

And they don't understand the divisibility. We need to change the units/decimals to make it look cheaper....

agreed
613  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why are people taking such a huge risk in holding a currency that could collapse on: April 09, 2013, 04:30:48 AM
Silly Americans bitcoiners, continuing to invest into the Dollar BTC Bubble. Even listening to mainstream media common sense or simple reason, it's obvious it will pop sooner rather than later.  Sad

FTFY  Wink

placed oreder on saterday around 4pm and I still dont have my coins. is anybody having this problem?

also I have emailed them probably 6-8 times, called about 10 times, left several voicemails, and have used the "lve" chat. not a single person has got back to me about this. quite frustrating.

if anyone could give me a heads up on what to do or maybe they have a direct line phone number they could share I would love you till the ends of time and beyond!  Cheesy Kiss Grin  its obvious they are not going to reply or even look at my correspondence. Angry

617  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin needs to do a "stock split" and add new (sub)names on: April 09, 2013, 01:08:06 AM
I always ask anyone I'm talking with whether they've heard of bitcoins. 99% of the time the answer is no (and I mix with some clued up people). Within a minute most of them are intrigued. But now when they hear that the price is ~$150+ their response is, "Oh it's too high. It's risen too fast, too quickly." If however, the price was $1.50 or even $15+ they would probably jump in and spend just as much money. It's a psychological thing, like buying a thousand penny stocks vs spending $600 on a single share of Google. I think the bitcoin powers that be, need to think about naming the equivalent dimes, nickels and pennies of the BTC world so that newcomers aren't faced with sticker shock. One of the most common newbie misunderstandings is that bitcoins aren't divisible and a well presented naming convention would really help. Just my ever humble opinion, but what do others think? Do those names exist already?

I cant agree with you more...

and i agree even more than that.
618  Economy / Speculation / Re: Black monday on: April 08, 2013, 10:20:30 PM
Its about time we had a pullback, those profits were too tempting at $195.

We'll be back at $200 within days
$200 by late this afternoon.

no tate!!! I like you but we need a cool down to 165 175 for the next week and then a good run u on fri sat or sunday. then a good steady 2% increase per day till 2025 Smiley thats a damn good plan

oh and your chart oh how we will hit 200 on the ninth is damn close and 300 on the 15 would be minde blowing but i think we will hit 300 on the 25 IMO.

let the games begin!!!!
619  Economy / Speculation / Re: "Fear grows that the bitcoin boom could crash" - The Seattle Times on: April 08, 2013, 08:14:08 AM
It is weird, why that newspaper didn't suggest your grandmother to invest in bitcoin when it was 5$ but today they have the arrogance to speak about fear and crash?  Roll Eyes

agreed! its at 5 bucks .... under the radar.....when its maken money lets dis the shit out of it!

media ran by government entitys will not like bitcoins one bit. they will spread fear and hate and speculate negatively and say its all a scam seam or give half truths, leave out important facts/info or outright lie!

in the end it will scare the general population that just sits and reads the news and lives in fear and they wont buy. intelligent people will do there research, find out its an amazing tool, and make a good deal of money.
620  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin needs to do a "stock split" and add new (sub)names on: April 08, 2013, 12:40:38 AM
I don't think it's a good idea at all to split the bitcoin into multiple currencies. As time goes by, people will learn to get used to it and you'll get people saying "if only it were at 150$ I would invest".

Making things even more confusing is that last thing the bitcoin economy could use. It's already a lot for the common people who aren't used to work with encryptions...

I Think this is a great idea!!! my friends and family wanted to buy some but when they here the price they say "no way, i cant afford that. there are too many misconceptions with it.

also do you really think that people will get confused? i think even hobos understand what a 1$ 5$ 10$ 20$ 50$..probably not a 100$ though Wink

my point is that we can get the basics of four or five options now but ya dont make it to complicated. I think a split or a mbit is a good idea, like one tenth of a bitcoin. you can buy .1 for a more moderate price instead of the minde blowing 20, no wate 48, no 62, no 120 no 145 no 168 no 245 no 560 no 882 no 1350 haha
