6001  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: May 02, 2022, 06:00:53 PM
I think I would feel somewhat comfortable betting on the Miami Heat and Phoenix Suns to WIN their games (not cover the spread) in a multibet.  I think it will be extremely difficult for the 76ers to win without Embiid at this stage in the season, and I think the Suns will be able to take down the Mavericks.  It's playoff basketball, and when it comes to multibets I don't like to push it, but I think outright wins for the Mavericks and Heat wouldn't be the most unlikely thing to ever happen.  Given that it's round 1 and there's some uncertainty in play, I think it might be best to play it a little safe while trying to maximize return on the likely scenario to unfold.
6002  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Miami Heat vs Philadelphia 76ers - 2nd round (Let's discuss) on: May 02, 2022, 05:58:03 PM
Game 1 odds.

Heat is -7.5.

Do you think the Heat will dominate the 76ers now that Embiid is not available to play?
I think the public is putting their money on the -7.5 because it's possible that heat will dominate the game, or is it a trap?

I do. I had figured this to be a really goof series but as soon as I got the breaking news alert popping up on my phone that Joel Embiid was out indefinitely, I knew there was little chance that James Harden could do much in this series by himself. I think the Sixers would be lucky to have one game won this series now. My personal thoughts anyhow.
Surely the Sixers will struggle without Embiid within the first 2 games of the series but the Heat cannot just dominate them that easily because Harden and Maxey is still there trying to hold the team and survive while Embiid was still recovering. Though I'm not that certain that Harden can carry the team because we already knew his capabilities but only 1 game, I'm not that sure as it's still early to figure that out.

It's funny that Harden didn't want to the "the guy" anymore after growing tired of carrying the load in Houston, so he went to the Nets where he could play third fiddle to Kyrie and KD.  Then Kyrie was held out because of the flu restrictions and KD was injured, so Harden got annoyed and forced his way out of New Jersey so he could play second fiddle to Embiid.  Now with Embiid out, Harden finds himself in the position of carrying a team again.  He can't be happy about that.  I think Embiid has a good excuse though.  That was a nasty elbow to the eye he caught.  I think after the first game it should be pretty clear whether or not the 76ers can hang with the Heat without their MVP candidate.
6003  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Network Difficulty Hits New All-Time High on: May 02, 2022, 08:36:01 AM
With the nature of technology advancement and manufacturing it stands to reason that the network will continue to hit new highs until new miners stop being produced. With companies like Intel beginning to produce miners now, you can bet the hashrate will continue rising for the foreseeable future regardless of what happens. If the situation in China taught us anything it was that hashrate can be relocated but will likely never be eliminated. Even under the strictest of banning conditions.
6004  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: May 02, 2022, 07:05:53 AM
Heat with a -7.5 point spread seems a little disrespectful to the 76ers. Granted they don’t have Embiid but they’re still a good team. It will be tough for them to get the win without their MVP candidate but I think they might be able to cover the spread. We’ll find out tomorrow as I don’t think their odds will get better as the series goes on. The Suns with a -5.5 point spread on the Mavericks is another tricky bet. I think I might have to sit out and see how game 1 goes before counting the Mavericks out.
6005  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Otherside Land Deed on: May 02, 2022, 07:02:54 AM
Anyone participate in the yuga labs metaverse land drop? I did not, but have been watching. It seems the price has fallen from around $45K when the secondary market originally went live to around $15K now. I think this metaverse might be a pretty cool project, but I don’t own any metaverse land and couldn’t really imagine spending so much money on such a thing. Still, I’m excited to see what gets built and who knows, maybe I’ll grab myself a plot if the right opportunity presents itself.
6006  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin staking a thing? on: May 02, 2022, 06:59:40 AM
I don’t think it’s staking, as that would imply an on-chain action. More likely it’s the result of lending your funds. With an 8% rate, you have to assume the risk is pretty high when it comes to Bitcoin. I’m sure you probably have to agree to some terms that you could lose all of your money for participating. The thing about lending schemes like this is that they work well until they stop and your funds are gone. Once coins disappear from exchanges people might find there’s nothing to get their principle back.
6007  Economy / Gambling / Re: What is a game you would like to see in an online crypto casino? on: May 02, 2022, 05:34:20 AM
I like Plinko that you can play on Stake, but it would be great to see this taken a step farther and have lots of the price is right games. Maybe even a whole show with the showcase showdown and everything. I could see this sort of thing becoming popular if it were done right and a lot of fun. Anything with more interaction than just pressing a button would be a welcomed improvement to most of the games available now. Which is why I usually stick to betting on sporting events rather than casino games.
6008  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: May 02, 2022, 05:32:21 AM
It's very competitive game, you really don't know who will win if you have watch the game. The Warriors established a good lead at the beginning of the 4th. But the Grizzlies rally back take a 2 point lead, and then Klay Thompson hitting a 3. One thing though I noticed is that the referee is indecisive, they have to go to jumpballs in the crucial minute because they don't know who the ball should belong. NBA should look into this, as this can spell disaster for either team specially how close the game was.

I’m seeing a lot of complaints about the way the refs “decided the game” but I think you made the most relevant point that it was the rules that kept them from reviewing the out of bounds play forcing them to do the jump ball. I didn’t see anything else that would have people crying about the game being fixed. I think it was just an unfortunate series of events at a crucial point in a close game. I am usually against stopping the game to review a call, but in this case it was a pretty important moment and should have been looked at. It was clear the refs had no idea.

Where can I find out how many coins are in circulation and how many are left for sale?

You can check at: https://analyzer.nastyfans.org/

That site is run by the forum user naypalm and I’m not sure how up to date it is since I haven’t spoken with naypalm in some time, but it’s probably fairly accurate. It gets the data from https://nastyfans.org/mint.json which is provided by nonnakip and kept up to date, so if you looked at the coin type for the 2oz rounds and counted them you would get an accurate number. According to naypalm’s analyzer 100 of 250 have been sold. That leaves more remaining for sale than all other minted seats rounds combined.
6010  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: May 01, 2022, 09:09:45 PM
With Draymond getting tossed for yanking on a jersey, this could be an opportunity to do a live bet against the Warriors. They may still be able to win without Draymond but they aren’t looking good so far. What a stupid play on Draymond’s part. There’s really no reason to yank someone’s jersey. Even though it wasn’t the hardest foul, the fact that it was blatantly not a basketball play has me wondering if he might see some suspension of games like back in the Finals against the Cavs when he threw a punch at LeBron’s nuts. Nobody seems to think this warrants further suspension, but this is the sort of behavior that can get you tossed from the league and he needs to do better.
6011  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [WTS] 2oz .999 Silver NastyFans Minted Seats on: May 01, 2022, 09:06:02 PM
I agree.  As an owner of several of these 2oz coins, that is truly the coolest one.   I’m one of the few with the 2oz gilt version.

As long as you don’t read the coin too closely it’s basically indistinguishable from the 4oz platinum round. Smiley

It’s always a surprise to me that these coins have the most unsold remaining while being the favorite of so many, myself included. Good luck for those late to the party that still want iconic collectibles I guess. Wink

6012  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Your NBA Champion this season? on: May 01, 2022, 08:13:01 PM
For me its either Boston or Suns but I would love to see Mavs winning it with a Luka going beyond limits and win everything but that scenario most likely won't happen.

GSW are still the favorites to win it all but this Boston team is so stack together that I simply cannot see them losing even if they face GSW.
I confess that I also imagined the Warriors as one of the favorites to be champion! But I would like to see the Suns to beat the GSW in the conference finals and become NBA champions for the first time, led by CP3.
I don't know if this can happen, but the Suns need to play really well to make it happen!!

Talking about the Celtics, I was surprised with today's game, because they were defeated, with a good performance of Holiday and Giannis

I was thinking Warriors too but after seeing how dialed in Giannis is today, I think the Bucks are the team to beat. I believe they’ll have Middleton back for the Finals also? If so, I think it will be hard even for the Warriors with a healthy roster to take them down. Giannis is just a different animal right now. Draymond Green might get the chance to prove he’s as great of a defender as he says he is…
6013  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: May 01, 2022, 08:07:33 PM
We have all the matchups in hand right now. Heat - 76ers would be a really tough one and I think that it can end after seven games are played. And I think 76ers would win the series. Bucks are a very strong opponent for Celtics and I don't think that Celtics can get past them. This series can end by a 4-1 victory for Bucks I think. And Suns can get past Mavericks by the same result also. Grizzlies - Warriors might be a little more competitive I think and Warriors would be the winner by 4-2.

The game has started for the Celtics vs Bucks, and it's interesting that the Bucks is on the driving seat. But the Celtics is coming back strong and might tie the score at the end of the second quarter. But for sure this is going to be a very close fight. I have a bet on the Celtics, but Giannis proving himself in this game as it seems the Celtics can't fight a way to stop him and could put a triple double in this first game.

Under 2 mins and the lead of Bucks is still double digits, it's tough now for the home team to win this one,

Giannis and Holiday together with all the Bucks players are really giving a hard time for the Celtics, lucky for those bettors
who take the ML for the defending champ.

Middleton-less still no problem. If Giannis continues to play like this, they can cover the missing stats of Middleton.

Giannis showed that nobody on the Celtics can stop him. I thought they’d miss Middleton a little bit but they proved they’re going to be able to walk through the Celtics without him. That highlight dunk where Giannis threw the ball off the backboard to himself was probably the best play of the playoffs so far. I thought Ja Morant’s dunk was the best, but Giannis might have surpassed that. Looking forward to watching Steph play now and maybe see another highlight dunk from Ja Morant.
6014  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: April 30, 2022, 11:33:58 PM
Oh no. This is uncomfortable now.

Seems like the ApeCoin metaverse land sale is sucking funds out of the market. Everything crypto related is taking a bad hit as liquidity is being taken out everywhere. Bitcoin is holding up better than others as it has a much deeper bud market, but hopefully the pain ends in a few hours. I’d hate to think we don’t get some sort of a mini-bubble next month so that the “sell in May and stay away” crowd can get themselves a nice payout. It feels like the recession is already taking hold though. Stocks and houses seem like they’re headed over the edge of a cliff.
6015  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: April 30, 2022, 11:29:24 PM
The horrible part about the Embiid injury is that the series was basically over. Pascal seemingly threw that elbow with a little frustration that his season was coming to an end. Embiid probably shouldn’t have been in the game at that point and I hope the league looks into this more. I haven’t known Pascal to be a dirty player, but the timing on this one and the seriousness of the injury just doesn’t sit right with me. The Sixers just can’t seem to catch a break when it comes to post season play. Pascal might be the new Kawhi.
6016  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Miami Heat vs Philadelphia 76ers - 2nd round (Let's discuss) on: April 30, 2022, 02:35:25 AM
Breaking news:

Quote
Joel Embiid has suffered a right orbital fracture and mild concussion.

He will be listed as out and there is no timetable for his return.

I just found this on my social media feed but I do think that there is some truth to it and this could have a big impact on this series because, without Embiid, point production of the Sixers is scarce, I mean they will miss the almost 30 points a game that Joel could give them.

I just saw that report as well. What a horrible break for the Sixers. Embiid has had his injury problems in the past but this one was a freak accident that happened to him. A shame if the Sixers miss out on their best chance to win a championship since Iverson because of this. I hope by some miracle he’s able to come back, but I read that he’s out for the foreseeable future, which doesn’t sound too promising. What a horrible thing to have happen to him while he’s an MVP candidate and playing the best basketball of his career with the best team he’s had.

There are no choices when something is predestined like that Corona Virus and global lockdown for 3 weeks to 3 months then finally 3 years.

It is time to read the real Bitcoin Manifesto the Bitcoin Magna Carta. No, it is not the Bitcoin White Paper. Let's prepare for the Bitcoin World War 3. Otherwise, you won't survive the Nuclear Holocaust in 2036.

It better to send the Politicians and their secretaries for lifelong holiday in the Planet Valcun. They deserve a happy holiday there in Parliament of Vulcan to learn how to setup correct form of foreign policy which is just and purely democratic.

The the prophets of profit of capitalism has created a unjust financial system, now they are trying to prove their prowess to the world waging another world war to prove their manhood when most of them are Homopotasium.

How can you trust those Homopotasium Berbarik who create war to subjugate others for their sole nomination ?  It is time for ordinary people to wakeup and use Bitcoin and dump the fiat currency in the dustbin to stop the World War 3. Otherwise those psychopath politicians will ruin our beautiful planet earth with nuclear warheads. Stop the Psychopaths !

Any tribe, nation, group or organisation who create cause to lead other nation to engaged in war for their defenses are guilty of war crime. They should be uprooted from this planet earth to protect the innocent people  of the world.

I am Bitcoin Moses, I am not alone, we are many,  we have come, recognise us and a knowledge us, other wise we will use the  Bitcoin Consciousness against all the psycho-pathetic politician later.

Therefore, stop the war. Stop it now !

Nice to meet you Bitcoin Moses.  Hopefully your predictions on the future are wildly inaccurate.  Smiley
6018  Economy / Speculation / Re: One more leg down on: April 30, 2022, 12:21:17 AM
What do you think? Is "another leg down" starting to get old?

A lot of people think we're still in a bull market.  I'm not seeing the fatigue around another leg down that you seem to be seeing.  Expectations for me personally are that we will continue a slow griding drop in price until the next halving or possibly sooner if an ETF is approved (and it isn't a buy the rumor sell the news situation).  Looking at previous cycles, I wouldn't be shocked if we fell slowly over the next year or two all the way down to $10K.  I'd personally rather we saw $200K, but what I want doesn't matter to the market.  Right now I would put the risk/reward price expectations around $10K/$85K.  That being said, I'm still buying BTC on a regular basis at these levels.
6019  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Miami Heat vs Philadelphia 76ers - 2nd round (Let's discuss) on: April 30, 2022, 12:14:33 AM
Who's gonna win the series, and why?

I think the Miami Heat matchup pretty well against the 76ers.  You could make the argument that the 76ers have more talent and star power, but the Heat are dogs.  Bam is one of the strongest guys in the league and he is going to make Joel Embiid miserable the entire series.  You can bet there will be plenty of bruising going on down low.  Jimmy Butler has also been playing great and is always a matchup nightmare.  Harden has been playing better suddenly, so it won't be easy for any team.  I'd like to say the Sixers have this, as I do believe they are the more talented team, but I don't like the matchup with Miami, so I think they're going to have problems.  We'll see what happens soon enough.
6020  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Teach me to invest in NFTs. on: April 29, 2022, 11:19:28 PM
I want to invest in several kinds of NFTs. I don’t know if you have any good recommendations. I want interesting and collectible ones. Can spiritmoney collect this? It is the first time I have seen such a deflationary NFT. Grin Grin Grin

Interesting and collectible might not be the best criteria for selecting an NFT project.  You might want to look into things like what utility it provides and if that's something you're interested in.  Some of them have community funds they raise to do things like purchase land in the metaverse for their project.  Others do things like donate to charity, or allow you access to certain content.  Others act as memberships that might get you into certain parties or gyms.  Then there are the "art" pieces that are images you purchase because you might like the image.  Now there are even songs you can purchase the rights to and remix to release your own derivative art.  Pretty cool really.
