Thanks for all your opinions guys, its interesting to read different ways to see this, some of your replies match with my thoughts. About why i bought XRP in first place? Was my first coin when i enter onto crypto , and somehow i feel it to be safe , since it had real world usage and work with important companies , that make me confident. Also i thought if government ban crypto XRP its "safe" because work with banks , its less shady than BTC.
Now I understand on why you have chosen XRP over bitcoin and I can't judge you with that decision because if I'm new to this market, I'd definitely go with the assurance that my money won't be gone so quickly. So what's your final decision now after hearing most of the suggestion of the people here? Isn't it Litecoin just concluded their block halving? So I guess it's good to see this as an opportunity for long term profit. Although we are not yet in the altcoin season, we need to look at prospective coins that we can invest long term and maximise profit, and I think LTC is one of them, just saying. Yes, last Monday. I'm also considering Litecoin as a good long term hold for altcoins but I don't want to suggest it to others who are starting to the market. They will just look on how reddish it is these days. I've known newbies who don't look at that prospect because they are looking at the current price instead on how good the coin is. People are really hoping for that altcoin season this isn't only applicable with LTC but on all coins in the market where there would be a specific time for its market to change. For LTC I cant say that it doesn't have any future but shorting it wouldn't really be ideal.Sadly for those who bought lots of it hoping for that post-halving results of increase but it turns out on the different way.Its a risk or like gamble though and what it makes more deep if they do either hold it up or release it, their choice. The effect was expected to be positive but its not a short term process, this will go after few more months so to those that knows and understands that it has to go through this way, knows what they are doing. Not our money so the decision will still depend on your take. Do you think its still worth it for you to wait for the XRP comeback? I used to suggest people to buy bitcoin no matter what how low it was before and now that suggestion is resulting positively.
Are you in loss with XRP now? if you are I suggest keeping it and buy bitcoin with your spare and I think that's a better thing for you to do. But if you are okay selling it now for btc, do it without regrets.

Most probably those who received such emails are those users who have emails used in other crypto-related websites such as cloud mining since the owner of such sites can sell those email list to someone who is interested of using those info for such scheme.
And probably those ICO related sites that offered airdrops before. I saw those before and someone offered on the marketplace(altcoins) that hundreds of thousands of crypto related email on his database. Those who are aware of the website's update, it's no longer '.info' but still sad to think that there might be few that will be caught as a victim of this phishing link. No matter how many times we do alert or advise on most people about phishing links and giving out some suggestions to avoid themselves into those things but there were still who do got victimized and this is why these kind of phishing attempts do still exist because of these noobs that to do continue to feed em up and also even just with your own common sense you can spot out a legit on a fake one. There are people who are not techie regarding these phishing sites and it's the reality that happens daily that there are who keeps falling on that trap. I feel bad about them but they can't look the difference between the legit and the fake one. They'll learn once they experienced it. First congratulations to these young bloods who got a good place on that competition. I didn't know that there's already a competition like this and because of this kind of competition, they are encouraging more developers to come, adopt and have a career within blockchain technology.

But sooner or later, we'll know if they will really have a rematch although everyone has already gave up about it. Yes it's not going to last for a long time because there is balance in this market. And someone like you who's amazed and probably thinks that this happens rarely should get to used to it.

The emotional part really triggers us, I've done that before and regret what I did. And I'm sure that many also experienced this though it's already a lesson learned for me.
