6021  Economy / Speculation / Re: It only costs 100$ in electricity to mine a bitcoin??? on: December 23, 2014, 04:38:30 PM
My mining hardware paid for itself long ago and I pay for my own electric heat.

Mining in the winter heating season is therefore free for me, although the returns are miniscule.

It's like casting a single ballot against a sea of lobbyists. It's more about a sense of participation than making any significant difference.

1. Sell coin.
2. Throw away useless noisy gear.
3. Install oil/gas furnace.
4. Save money & live like a reasonable human being.

And pray for wisdom, my child!

1. I don't sell coins. I spend or hoard them.
2. I kinda like the sound of the fan revving up. It also serves as a conversation piece.
3. Oil? Gas? LOL Where do you live? I live downtown. I do however have a wood stove in my country place.
4 I already save money and live the life of Riley.

Also, please don't take the name of Bob in vain. You may be a minister, but I'm a pope. You're outranked.

Good morning Bitcoinland.

Not much price movement but I see we're having a lively little theological discussion.

6024  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: December 22, 2014, 04:01:30 PM
I don't like the market movement.
I went margin short because the price *must* go to at least 270.
Because my crystal ball said so.

It did that already, Oct 5, 2014.

Bitcoin going over the roof, but unluckily foolishly you have sold out your entire bitcoin?

Never go full fiat.

I never gamble more than 10% of my coins.

6030  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is this helping bitcoin price? on: December 21, 2014, 01:37:41 AM
Why call them 200k bits when you could call them 20 million satoshis?

Millions sound much better.

Other than that, why pay for a service you can do yourself so easily for free?

It's nice to see them promoting the idea of bitcoin gifts though.
6031  Economy / Speculation / Re: What would you do with 35 bitcoins? on: December 20, 2014, 09:41:39 PM
What would I do with 35 bitcoins?

Buy more.

Damn it! Fiat did not make it through before the weekend  Angry Angry

Same here.

If my deposit had gone through in the usual time, I'd have had a CA$347 (US$299) bid in before it went all the way down to CA$345.

Trying to save an ATM fee ended up costing me not only anonymity but money too.

 Angry

Oh for the days when you could walk into a bank, anonymously give the teller cash and be buying coins less than 2 hours later.

Don't it always seem to go that you don't know what you've got 'til it's gone...
6034  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buy Buy Buy! Now! I'm pretty sure that it's time to Buy! on: December 20, 2014, 05:54:01 PM
Guess, freebambi is trolling with fewcoins...because who is stupid enough to take the advice of a serial troll?

Maybe not stupid, just immature and too new to know who the trolls are. Didn't FreeBambi say he/she was only 9 years old?

what's that FreeBambi?  I can't read anything trolls say when they're on ignore  Cheesy

FreeBambi didn't like being called stupid, called you stupid and put you on ignore. Tit for tat.

Maybe he/she will prove to be a troll but for now I'm willing to give benefit of doubt and keep an open mind.

Never attribute to malice what can be explained by stupidity inexperience.
6035  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin is dead? 350$ :( on: December 20, 2014, 10:43:24 AM
Bitcoin dropped from $60 to $30.

 Huh

When?

knight22, please delete your post.  It contributes nothing to the conversation.

If you'd made this a self-moderated thread, you could've deleted it yourself.

my btc orders are at $150 Cool

I'm a little more conservative (and I think realistic).

I'll be happy with anything under $300 (350CAD).

If the fiat deposit I'm waiting for had gone through yesterday I'd have them already.

Sometimes it's easy to get caught up in the daytrader mentality around here and lose grasp of the reality of venture capitalization, infrastructure development and the slow grind of worldwide adoption.

We're still all early adopters.

do you guys expect a price to sub $200? Huh

LOL

Keep dreaming.

 Cheesy

why do you think it is not possible?

Anything is possible.

$0 is possible. $100,000 is possible.

$200 is just highly unlikely.

Historically it has never dropped below the peak of the previous bubble.
