6021  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How do I extract crypto from my wallet on: August 29, 2021, 05:33:04 AM
So in order to extract from the wallet I need to sell the coins even though there is a large value on it? I cant just withdrawn it into a bank account? Seems very unusual and rather complicated.

Think on the coins like they would be gold, or shares or something like that. Banks don't accept (yet?) that directly.
It's even worse, some banks don't like to receive money from exchanges and may make you headaches.

Some directions I advise:
* Exchange smaller amounts at a time and see how it goes. There are decentralized exchanges, there are centralized exchanges (but they need KYC), there is even the in-person option or bitcoin ATMs (although the last have rather big fees).
* Something people didn't advise on this topic, but imho it's a direction worth thinking about are crypto cards. Many are available in UK. You need to provide KYC and stay legal, but you'll get a Visa or Mastercard you send crypto (top up) now and then and spend with the normal expenses or withdraw at ATM. There are many providers, different fees, you'll have to choose one that fits you better.
6022  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Confused between mining and holding on: August 29, 2021, 05:07:12 AM
while HODL is easier (and riskier too).

I find it hard to agree with this point, HODL is a lot less risky, you just need a proper hardware wallet to "store" the coin, your risks are limited, predictable, and avoidable, with mining, however, I can name tens of risks associated, many of which are not controllable by any means, people have no clue how hard is it to maintain a mining farm, but worrying about theft, fire, damaged PSUs, dead fans, heatsinks falling and all that is a lot of headaches and a lot of risk to be taken.

You are right; I've missed quite some of the risks of mining. But I was referring though to financial risks. At least that was my main point/idea.
Imho if all is calculated good and electricity price is small, the miner will be earning some money; sometimes more, sometimes less. On the other hand, at HODL, with the huge price fluctuations, with FUD, one can easily get to buy high and sell low.
But I've corrected: both are risky in a way or another.
6023  Economy / Reputation / Re: Hacked account? "Donator" selling account under his/her own name? on: August 28, 2021, 08:09:35 PM
Some interesting trust feedback he made today as reply to members who gave him negative feedback:

I'm surprised to be "forgotten". At least for now.

The best part there is imho that he's no longer DT. So his retaliatory feedback is also worthless.
I'd hope that sooner or later the list of users trusting him will get smaller though.

But I do not think I could get 50k for my account.

Somebody evil enough could get probably scam - sooner or later - more than 1BTC with such an account. But it's difficult. He would have to have your knowledge (at least partly) and imitate your writing style [imho at least in the case of your account is nearly impossible to have both of these]. And start involving into businesses, maybe escrow too, even if not scamming from start. When, at some point, enough money is on this guy's hand, he can run with them. But yeah, it's more a hypothetical case than something realistically possible to happen.

Mult noroc!
6025  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Has crypto cloud mining got market? on: August 27, 2021, 07:28:32 PM
I have known many giant miner with host of hash rate. Just thinking about build a cloud mining platform for hash rate trading. Does this has market? What is the general take on cloud mining?

Since the one who wants to sell hash rate wants to earn too, the buyer can easily end up not really earning anything from cloud mining (or even losing money).
Also the huge majority of cloud mining sites are plain scam.

All in all, cloud mining got a bad name and it may not worth spend time with it - neither as seller, nor as buyer.
Sorry.
6026  Economy / Reputation / Re: Hacked account? "Donator" selling account under his/her own name? on: August 27, 2021, 07:18:52 PM
highly-prized "collectible".

But 1BTC?  That seems to be an outrageous

I was thinking...
Can it be some sort of payback? Maybe somebody who got negative feedback or arguments in the past may have hacked the password and instead of risking to change it decided to ruin the account? I mean, 1BTC is indeed an unrealistically high price. And somebody that old should know to not trade it like this.
6027  Economy / Economics / Re: A way to make money online? on: August 27, 2021, 07:12:58 PM
As said, you need to have some skills you should use best in order to earn for real.

If you just ask for a job / ideas, you'll be told about faucets (basically a waste of time) or cloud mining (basically scam), or hyip (certainly scam) hence you will most probably lose (time or money) instead of earning.

Also keep in mind that maybe you have better skills/chances to earn money offline. And if you get surplus / "money you afford to lose", then you may be able to even invest.

Or, depending on your age, maybe you consider getting higher education to earn more (online or offline).

Keep all directions open, not only online. Good luck!
6028  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: My challenge on: August 27, 2021, 07:04:16 PM
If you want to search in this forum, there are multiple ways, from in-forum search (normal or advanced) to the known search engines restricted to search only inside the forum ( <keywords> site:bitcointalk.org ) or use forum scrapers' search capabilities like https://ninjastic.space/search

In-forum search restricts the newbies, unfortunately.
Search engines may not have the forum properly indexed or may be missing the very new info.
Scrapers are quite an interesting choice to explore.

All this was also discussed lately in another thread which may also worth a look: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5356770
6029  Local / Romānă (Romanian) / Re: Despre securitatea portofelelor hardware on: August 27, 2021, 06:12:30 PM

6030  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: New 64 Bit Random Search Pool Project on: August 27, 2021, 06:07:47 PM
And this is your choice, if you do not join because I don't have enough numbers by my merit, that is fine. But I will leave you with this, just because you sit in a garage, doesn't mean you're a car.

Clearly. I hope that I didn't offend you, but I've learned to be very careful with what I install/run.
It's not only about merit, it's also about the fact he's older here, more active, I interacted more with him than you... and higher ranked by the forum.
Usually the lower the rank, the higher the chance it does something fishy. It doesn't mean that you did or you will do that, clearly. It's just chances and numbers.

As I said, a higher rank can give more credibility to everything and attract more people to the project. Whether you do that or not, it's entirely your choice.

In fact I'm the one who modified and compiled the Kangaroo #120 server (more details in the discord server linked in the OP)

That's good to know. I'm still a bit wary about the client though.
6031  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Don't believe in digital money? Well... on: August 27, 2021, 05:56:08 PM
The thief will often steal people's banknotes. The mobile phone is in hand, the possibility of robbery is not very big.

The thief can steal the credit card info with phishing or malware on the phone maybe easier than the banknotes. Unfortunately, for every form of money, there are thieves too. But yes, payments without touching the actual money is convenient. Just be aware, banks and others gather data based on when and what you buy and profile you based on that (some don't like that, some others don't care, but it's good if you at least know that).

6033  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2021-08-26] Bitcoin ATM operators set up association to counter money launderi on: August 27, 2021, 07:47:05 AM
This news puzzles me greatly. Don't they have to already report to authorities anything suspicious related to money laundering, in order to operate legally? Don't they ask for KYC info on larger amounts exactly because of this? And then.. what's the news about?!
6034  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: New 64 Bit Random Search Pool Project on: August 27, 2021, 07:42:04 AM
I'm working with the OP and two other people in our group DM on discord - I'll ask the other two if they've seen the source (@yoyodapro is the one compiling so he should at least know about it).

I think that if it would be you at least compiling the source it would give more credibility to the project (then I may even consider joining in when I could, although my NVidia card is on a laptop).
6035  Other / Meta / Re: Search time periods on: August 27, 2021, 07:32:06 AM
site:bitcointalk.org <keyword search> - but although it does search and I can do searching far quicker, it's older data - not from today for example.

Search engines don't check the website continuously, so they are indeed more suitable for older results. For example, in google, you can select the date/time range where to search for what you are interested in.

But I will show you something that, for simple search and new results may be better than google: https://ninjastic.space/search
You can fill a couple of criteria - keywords, date range, maybe author or board too - and will find even posts made minutes ago.
6036  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why should other countries did not accept Bitcoins? on: August 27, 2021, 06:42:14 AM
In my point of view Bitcoin is not illegal unless you're trying to scam someone.

Bitcoin is illegal if your country's law tells so. It doesn't matter if scams have happened or not.
Also, the fact Bitcoin was declared illegal is.. something. It means that the govt knows about its existence and monitors it. It may lead - sooner or later - to proper regulation (or at least taxing) and making it legal again. Bitcoin ecosystem is growing and - sooner or later - governments will want at least the money associated with taxing that. And one cannot tax it if it's illegal  Wink
6037  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: nano s on: August 27, 2021, 06:35:25 AM
how can i transfer from my bitcoin wallet on my iPhone to my nano s

1. Keep in mind that the coins are not in your bitcoin wallet and will not be in the Nano S. Both wallets only handle keys.
2. Create a new seed on the Nano S, write the seed also onto the backup papers, install bitcoin wallet app onto Nano S, open a wallet software associated with Nano S (I use Electrum on desktop, but I guess that you can also use ledger live) and get an address from the wallet associated to the Nano S.
3. Make a transaction and send the coins from your current wallet to an address associated to the Nano S, wait to see that confirmed.
6038  Economy / Reputation / Re: Hacked account? "Donator" selling account under his/her own name? on: August 27, 2021, 06:15:37 AM
Edit:  Evidently he realized it because the "sale text" was deleted.

No problem, my negative feedback contains the link to the backup of the topic at ninjastic.space website.

He just ruined that account. Oh well...

(The sale text has since been removed by the OP but curious on the original asked value.)

Maybe this helps: https://ninjastic.space/post/57787909

Maybe somebody should notify @mprep about this situation to remove from his trust list? Because now @PsychoticBoy is DT2 too...

Mi-ați stricat Threadul Smiley)
Anyway...

6040  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: When will bitcoin end ? on: August 27, 2021, 06:00:51 AM
WBut my question is how much maximum a bitcoin can worth and when ??
What is its max potential and when its price would stop increasing??

I know nothing can be predicted but I just want to hear your views about it.

Nobody can know or predict that. Bitcoin will always cost as much as people are willing to pay for it. As long as there's demand, the price will basically keep rising (on the average), fast or slow.
In the future, with more institutional investors and stronger regulation (less manipulation) the price may get to rise in slow/boring way, like gold does, but we are far from that.
However, I think that the best model you can find for the price evolution in the far future should be what happens in the current decade with gold.

(Keep in mind though that this is a speculation, not a financial advice.)
