6061  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Dinosaur asteroid hit 'worst possible place' on: May 18, 2017, 03:29:38 AM
Wow, even asteroids go to Mexico to die. Did they crack there? Tongue No offense Mexicans.

Anyway, this is interesting. I've always though the winter was just mainly due to all the dust ejected into the atmosphere. We really learn something new everyday. This reminded me of a TV series I saw, I believe it's called Big History. So many what-ifs.

The "worst" is subjective here. Extinction of then dominant species provided plenty room for further devolpment of life on Earth. Mammals that inherited Earth have by nature significantly larger brain to body mass ratio, than lizards.

And well, here we are. So it wasnt "worst" from my point of view.

True. It's only worst from a dinosaur's point of view and they're not around now to whine anyway that the impact mostly affected them and so it was speciest.  Grin

Prior to this, mammals were mostly shrew-like animals. Without the extinction event, mammals could have not found any vacant niche to occupy.

The way I understand it, flood basalt eruptions combined with drastic reductions in seal level had already caused a large decline in plant and animal populations of the Cretaceous period.  The asteroid impact was likely a blessing in disguise - accelerating the extinction event that was already underway.  Maybe it was "best" for all involved and all yet to be... provided that the plants and animals of that period were capable of paired comparison analysis.  Roll Eyes
6062  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: smallest dogs always bark the loudest on: May 18, 2017, 02:28:22 AM
The loudest bark by a dog measured 113.1 dB and was produced by golden retriever Charlie, owned by Belinda Freebairn (Australia) during the Purina Bark in the Park event in Rymill Park, Adelaide, Australia, on 20 October 2012.

The Golden Retriever is a large-sized breed of dog...

https://pescaratech.com/ Is this website legit to buy hardware from?

Well, they claim "All of our products are 100% New & Factory Sealed" but this doesn't make sense really because they sell some pretty old models.  That in itself might not be so obvious but this -

 Is laughable.

The Kogyo Miner 8 is actually a server power supply (looks like the DPS-1200FB-1 by HP ) rather than a miner.

The Kogyo Miner 9 appears to be a 21 Bitcoin computer which is certainly not a miner.

and

The Kogyo Miner 7 looks like (more than likely is) a Butterfly Labs Jalapeno which came in 5-10 GH/s mining rates - not even close to the stated 3.5 TH/s

 I can confidently say SCAM

*National IQ per country - estimates by Lynn and Vanhanen 2006

I don't imagine one need look too much further for an explanation.

Yeah but that's why your IQ is probably around 60 even though the average one is higher xD

Only an idiot could believe it's a reason and not a consequence.

Best answer I could come up with.  Sorry it took so long, I had to get my dog to read your post to me.

6065  Other / Meta / Re: Reporting a user who constantly abuse. on: May 15, 2017, 03:24:15 AM
I disagree.  If the post simply said "Go fuck yourself", then it might be considered useless but it goes on to accuse member francoin of being a "piece of shit scammer".  This should be considered informative and perhaps worthy of looking into, no?  He's also been called a "stupid fucking shit joke", a "total idiot", a "silly little liar" and a "thief", an "asshole" and a "LIER LIER LIER LIER!!!!!!(sic)"  by various members - on their own, those names merit some attention but when you add them all together, they paint a very useful picture I would say.

That may be true but there are certainly better ways of condemning a user of being a scammer. By only purely belittling them with a "Go fuck yourself" it doesn't really help anyone. Of course, if there is a lot of backlash and hate towards a user, you would check it out.

I'm not quite sure what the user said to OP (since it was deleted) so I can't say if it was constructive or not. There is a better way to convey your point (since the user already replied with it albeit in full caps) than to write a huge red font "FUCK YOU SCAMMER!!".

He may have good intentions but if he cannot articulate well then it is wasted. Do you not agree?

It's certainly succinct.  Sometimes, articulation can mask one's true feelings.  Roll Eyes

XhomerX10,

quite the opposite is true, friend. That map, while quite plausible doesnt explain three things.

Why some people within the same IQ range outperform their peers (question of culture, which in the anglosaxon countries was shaped by protenstatism and later englightement).

Does IQ and environment influence culture and if so then how?

Why and how did such massive disparity in IQ formed in the first place, if we are supposed to be all members of same species, originating from EA and can interbreed.

So you are saying that a correlation exists but increased wealth improves IQ scores and not the other way around?  Interesting.  Honestly, I haven't studied this but it's something I should research.

Posts like this: Go fuck yourself you piece of shit scammer

seem a little bit useless.

I don't use a proxy.

What does the cookie error say exactly?
6070  Other / Meta / Re: Registration - cookie error on: May 14, 2017, 11:59:47 AM
Hey Guys,

I just tried to generate an own account for my gf - but I always get "cookie error" when sending it.

I thought it might be because I already have an account - but even with other devices and different ip's it did not work.

Anyone knows if new registrations are blocked or smth.?

New registrations are disallowed if you are using a proxy that has been banned.

any one can please help with this unconfirmed transaction

https://blockchain.info/tx/66a0f83625542d2508b131e3d6644f29295356c78fc178b6f6dc5c48df829bb7

i did everything to make it confirmed but it never been ,

i'm using blockchain.info wallet

thanks

What did you do differently here?

nothing i just told myself let me send another amount to the same wallet maybe it will help to refresh the 1st transaction , but the 2nd one went okay and the 1st still stuck

So you set those high fees on the second tx but really low fees on the first tx or was this all blockchain.info?

the one it stuck the fees just come as recommended fees by blockchain.info , and after it not getting confirmed i read in the internet about the fees issue so i increase the fees for the second transaction to check if it gonna go okay or not , and i dose .
so the problem it's the blockchain.info calculating fees is not true , you guys must be aware of that

 Okay that's good to know!
In the future, you should consult https://bitcoinfees.21.co/ to get a good idea of the fees you should attach based on the confirmation speed you require.

I checked https://pushtx.btc.com and they want $177 to accelerate your transaction!  I guess this is because it is 10k in size.  If you were desperate to get it confirmed, I would suggest it but it seems like highway robbery!  Keep trying to use viabtc.com transaction accelerator; it's free but only 100 per hour are accepted.

this is crazy to pay $177 for this https://pushtx.btc.com people !!! if it's around $10 - $20 i'll pay but $177 they wanna share me with my money

and i'm trying to use https://www.viabtc.com/tools/txaccelerator/ but always getting error message  " Submissions are beyond limit. Please try later. "
is that normal

thanks

Yes.  That is normal so just keep trying!  There are many people trying to do the same.

As stated in title, I need $150 PayPal and I'm giving 0.086BTC.  Please post here if you're interested, and I will only deal with trusted members on this one (at my discretion).  You will need to send the PayPal first.

Coincidentally, I was just thinking about buying a few sats to replace my recent spends Wink
I'll do it.  PM me your paypal addy if you're interested... I don't think I saved it.  Friends and family?

edit: Ha! We went the other way last time so I don't have your paypal.

viabtc accelerator doesnt work

dont even know if theres another way

PM me

 Why don't you try https://pushtx.btc.com/#/

you have to pay with Alipay and it cost ~14$

NB I have never personally used the service and can't vouch for it.

edit: the cost was estimated for your transaction - cost varies by transaction.

I already try this accelerator service but the cost for transaction fee really kills me. I will never use blockchain wallet nor that BTC accelerator. I never thought that BTC confirmation will become slow.

The issue here is not the cost; we can all see the cost of it.  We are interested in the functionality.  Did it work?

As far as I know, BTC confirmation is just as fast as it has always been - 10 minutes per block.  If you fail to add a high enough fee to board the flight, then unfortunately your transaction confirmation time will lengthen.  For now, if you want top speed, you have to pay for it - fly business class!
6077  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wish I didn't dump at $2000 on: May 13, 2017, 04:45:50 PM
Yup, you dump it too soon. Take it as a lesson instead, next time you buy bitcoin at a lower price just hold it for a couple of years and surely it'll double up.  Smiley

He did not dump.  Read the OP and check the date.  Nobody could have dumped at 2k last year.
6078  Economy / Digital goods / Re: .015 for anyone who accelerates this unconfirmed txn on: May 13, 2017, 04:29:59 PM
because that site looks like it was made by a 14 year old... I dont trust it

It might have been; there are many 14 year olds creating web content. It might have been created by a 60 year old too but you prefer a "professional" looking page.  That would instill trust in you?
AFAIK, BTC.com is owned by Bitmain so, I think you're pretty safe.  Also, it's ~$14 as opposed to the ~$25 you wanted to pay somebody else who might not even have a web page.  How trustworthy is that?
You can keep hammering away at ViaBTC acceleration tool until they recognize your transaction as valid and are accepting new txs... or you can research and not have to rely on the look and feel of a web page.

What an excellent idea!  I would love to have one of these organizers for my car.
How much do they cost?

I can make any organizers according to your requirement.

organizers cost  = 0,03505 BTC

Delivery cost to Europe = 0,004053 BTC

Delivery cost to USA = 0,004915 BTC
