So I did this transaction 3 days ago with very low fees (wasn't aware of the unconfirmed tx problem): https://blockchain.info/tx/20a1a54ae84c05020b10a62c66a3abc8ed9e7cd9cbf4a0a922d905c96804fe9fWaited 3 days, since the fees were very low it went unconfirmed, okay whatever learned my lesson. 3 Days later got the balance in my account. Now I have $200 + $20 I got from somewhere else for the extra fees. So I try to send to the same address again, same amount, but obviously this time with a higher fee right? So now I'm at $0 in my account. So at first after sending the transaction it's fine for a bit.. then next thing you know it's claiming it's a double spend and hasn't been confirmed yet Tx id: https://blockchain.info/tx/60e1a310c28a4164c0f030fb2a69ec111663b18155623dda58c9c39f8658fc4dAs soon as this happens, now I can't view my balance and past tx history etc on my blockchain account. It'll let me login, but never load up the balance or past transactions. If it helps, as soon as I sent the payment I put the txid into the viabtc accelerator and it said acc. succeeded. So I have three questions.. 1) Will I regain access to my account? 2) Will I see my money back ever again? 3) How long will all of this mess take to clear up? 72 hours? I paid a fee of just over 162 sats/byte @ 17:54:45 today, there were ~150k unconfirmed txs at the time and it still confirmed in 11 minutes.

can anyone give me a breakdown of how bad things are? have some of these pending transactions confirmed?
I don't have the automated tools that DannyHamilton has - perhaps if you offered him a tip he might consider running his software again? NB. I have no idea if DannyHamilton works for tips! Failing that, you could try to decipher it yourself - check the transactions and then check each address within to see if it is contained in another unconfirmed tx with this tool - https://tradeblock.com/bitcoin/explorer/ I can see that some of the txs have confirmed but there are many with a very low fee attached that don't meet the min requirement for the ViaBTC accelerator. |

What is there to do now? I can't change an Auction title or topic. Forgot to add. The domains are sold as they were collateral for a loan. I was watching thread and saw the bump this morning. There were a couple of names that interested me but I didn't want all 45 domains - maintenance costs would be too much. Anyway. Hey everyone,
I apologize first hand because I am somewhat new to all of this.
I just sent 0.2828 BTC to Kraken to exchange, and the fee for that tx was 0.007 BTC, which currently is over $12.
Is this normal? Do I need to be doing something to lower the tx fee?
Thanks for any help you can provide.

Seems rather excessive even today. You really need to give us more information. How many bytes was the transaction? Looks like it must have been nearly 4kb. The amount of BTC you send has nothing to do with the fee as the fee is based on the transaction size. If you want more info you'll have to post the txid. I did a tx about 3 hours ago and it cost $0.43 to be included in the next block. It was 191 bytes. |

How to manually confirm a pending transaction ?
What are the requirements to do it by myself ?
You may be able to speed up a transaction but you're not going to be able to confirm it by yourself. You need a lot of physical resources and energy to accomplish this as well as the knowledge of how to include a transaction into the block your are mining. Best you can do is try to speed up your confirmation. Read this awesome post by achow101 |

I believe a signed message from a BTC address was advised. I'm not so sure ETH sig will be accepted. I understand that there is some competition between various altcoins and BTC but technically speaking it is same cryptographic proof and it would be quite not cool to see someone still using the hacked account just because the proof is on alt blockchain and not BTC. Unfortunatelly ETH address is the only one that I have used in my posts. It's not about competition; it's about time. There are a thousand altcoins. Getting angry and finding a way to make this forum irrelevant is the answer to victory and a better system. Compromise with liars and systems that do not function properly is akin to not fixing bugs in software.
