6101  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: "Bitcoin is Dead" - Mike Hearn on: January 15, 2016, 10:18:52 AM
What alt coin does Mike Hemaroid have"?

heh......no conflict of interest here (will edit my previous post) sheesh....

http://www.bizjournals.com/newyork/news/2015/11/20/bitcoin-core-developer-joins-blockchain-consortium.html

blockchain development for banks.....but btc centralization by miners in china is 'evil' ....again sheesh

I will be however 'concerned' if a bunch of other previous 'bitcoin core devs' wander off in the same manner ...in a huff.....that would say much

I myself say we all take a 'vote' and give the bitcoin dev to Charlie Lee the Litecoin Founder.....hell it is boring as hell over there..they plod their mods etc
but at least NO drama Smiley

(actually that is not a bad idea....if/when our future alien overlords and masters decide this ...only way it would happen) Smiley

6102  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: "Bitcoin is Dead" - Mike Hearn on: January 15, 2016, 09:43:15 AM
Bitcoin Classic rolls out, and days later there is no word about it in the News Media.

Mike Hearn declares Bitcoin dead and within hours it is in the New York Times.....

In other words, Bitcoin_Classic is about as newsworthy as Unlimited.  IE, not at all.

XT set the bar for hilariously futile vanity fork and governance coup attempts, but these new shitforks have no chance of raising it.

Code:
REKT

In the article he talks about in detail all the FUD and drama ....that his FORK should not have been the source of stuff....however it seems to me that he seems to talk about the
core devs in the same manner that they talk about xt...so go figure.....his open source universe of my way or the highway it seems

also he is now working for private blockchain interests by such a letter and getting rid of all btc ( hell who could tell) he clears things up for his 'new corporate masters"

so wtf is the difference between his working for 'private blockchain crypto code" and "bitcoin open source code that has some centralization properties vs his new working
environment which is ALL centralization on such projects from what I can tell....assuming I give him 'some' on his btc centralization tendencies ....for fairness in his views...still lame

what western bankers can centralize a crypto coin...with private blockchain efforts but somewhat (if he is to be believed) centralized btc run out of china via miners is NOT OK

seems he wants it both ways

1) bitcoin xt "benevolent dictatorship" (his words)

or

2) open btc crypto in his manner if he can't have the above

hell then he goes on about 'bitcoin classic' and muddles it all up further

seems his 'agenda' is slipping like a 'fat man's butt crack'

man what a tool ..it just seems a bit too much 'I'm gonna quit now because just because I was mean to you guys you were mean to me back" kinda gonna take his toys and go home Smiley

sheesh.....I MAY believe his points IF other bitcoin core devs as things change act as 'immature' about stuff not going their way with core code or whatever....that part of his 'rant'

has me wondering.......bunch of nerds running a great tech idea with 'big money' involved....well hell what could go wrong Smiley

but I think HE is an isolated individual in all this...even if SLOW i think others WILL do what needs to be done with code if/when it has to be done...sloppy yes.....dragging of feet yes
but BTC development is making a house by committee...it don't have to look pretty ..it just has to do its function and keep the rain/snow out

just a bit too much 'everyone is an evil greedy f*ck but me tone in all this rant*  anyway wtf do I know at one time I drank the BFL kool aid (got a refund) but still I fess up when
I'm plain ass wrong....not sure if he can face such a possiblity

just my take on the usual 'Bitcoin of our Lives" the continuing 'Soap Opera"...never a dull moment....

(*hey Icebreaker...how's it going by the by*)

edited this additional: Mike Hearn's NEW somewhat less then open source masters Smiley

6103  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Should I Buy used or new miners? on: January 14, 2016, 07:20:12 AM
buy an old hardware don't make sense...

you wil have to invest in more electricity... and we're all worried about electricity...

so, buy a new model, like S7, it needs not so much electricity than 2 old miners with 1/4 less hash rate.

s7 is very cool.. you must test.

 Cool

yeah if your elec rate works that is great...for me at 13.7c kwh and 0.0927c kwh (lower elec in winter) well ..(again you should just buy crypto ltc or btc)

BUT

if you really want to mine..used is only way to go imho and scrypt miner.....a BTC miner with my above costs would not fly ..even if I was crazy enough to

get a used Titan Scrypt unit (again priced too high)

but yeah if I lived in Oregon USA where some have 3 or 4c kwh elec...I'd be all over Ebay buying Titans and NEW equip Smiley

People have 'offered' to buy mine from those places often Smiley

but electric is king ..then again new equip ONLY has a 90 day warranty...so I'd fully agree with a 1 year warranty...90 days ...er not as big a deal used imho

(assuming whatever has run well the last 90 days) Smiley

6104  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: [CLOSED] Official FutureBit MoonLander USB Scrypt Stick Order Thread on: January 14, 2016, 07:12:31 AM

Well this is embarrassing.....seems from the below list I'm first on the list Smiley

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/11rcnSh4rAR5oeeCsb13BeHxmKOT29tUrOjXVIkl9NJA/edit?pref=2&pli=1#gid=0

In that I have YET to get the Gekko 8gh USB BTC chip miners to work on a compaq evo n800v  unbuntu 12.04 (as high end as I can go on this laptop)..I use these as a guick and dirty way to monitor my titans with putty...seemed like a good idea...toss some usb sticks on them as well..yeah ...right Sad

me being first on this list is kind a lame .>>>(it takes a village for me to get cgminer (also tried bfgminer) up...so expect yelling for help on here

I got plenty to try from others helping in the gekko thread (cgminer) completely gave up on bfgminer working....

Will try this YET again (9th or 10th try) and yeah it likely is ME...(i work with dev disabled ..how did I get involved with all you crypto geeks ...out of my element)

anyway got some more advice and a 3.0 usb hub will take yet another crack at it

....but anyway just thought it was funny I was first in the que ...in that I've been clueless on why this stuff has not worked on the gekko sticks Sad

(just an example for the thread on why the world is unfair)

On a side note: The 1.6 billion dollar power ball lottery ticket that won was sold in California...can you imagine if Kim Kardasian or Charlie Sheen or Bill Cosby won?
It would 'melt' the Internet Smiley That would be 160 B  / 32 usd a usb.....or 5B moonlander sticks (not including shipping) Smiley

anyway hopefully I can get the gekkos up and such will be easy for these moonlander usb's ......but its a 'quest' now for me!

anyway good to have goals/guests/impossible tasks/ unicorn hunting/etc

6105  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: January 13, 2016, 11:30:25 AM
This Titan did it again. Weird:

DC/DC   Voltage (V)   Current (A)   Power (W)   Temperature (°C)
0   0.7900   41.5625   32.834   59.900
1   0.7897   41.2500   32.575   73.400
2   0.7867   41.0625   32.304   57.400
3   0.7886   41.6250   32.825   52.700
5   0.0035   0   0.000   17.300
6   0.7883   40.3750   31.828   44.900
7   0.7928   39.8125   31.563   45.100

that happens to me (like once every few months) I just reboot (then again may just get lucky)

then again ..the orig OFF Dies I got on the orig Titan Nov 2014 have always been that way (knc would not rma any cubes with just 1 dead die)

so hell it is prob flaky 1st batch dies...or so knc used to say (why they changed the firmware from a max of 300 to 350 ..up from orig design specs of 250mh)

damn..I wish someone had archived knc forums i can drill down with way back machine to the title but not the msgs

6106  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Should I Buy used or new miners? on: January 13, 2016, 11:25:37 AM
Either way you will lose money.
Therefore my advice would be to buy a miner for a hobby. Play with it and enjoy yourself.

The more money spend on your miner, the more money is being wasted..

The difficulty rises to fast. The most recent rise is 9.12%. That is equivalent 68P hash rise, or 14,600 S7. The next rise is expetected to be 10%. So if you do not have cheap electricity, do not mine.

The only game to get BTC now mining is get a KNC Titan *used* cheap..that is very very hard to do..they are overpriced imho on ebay etc....BUT should you be lucky in some
manner I'm making on 0.0927c (reduced winter rate elec from 13.7c kwh) electric about $484 usd after electric a month at 645mh for both..so that would be like 322.50 for a Titan

the key here is a CHEAP enough Titan or one of the 'lucky few' with cheap ass electric (like 0.03c kwh) at a real LOW electric rate YOU might be able to overpay for a Titan
and it all works out...(with btc halving and ltc traditionally following along) but with such an optimistic future for btc or ltc rise you'd be better off just buying ltc or btc imho

(not so say you should not keep your eye out....but unlikely)

as to why scrypt miner.....well using this calc

www.litecoinpool.org

It is all about the difficulty vs reward

BTC with all the large data halls and equip coming out...a home miner would be blown out of the water imho Smiley

So ....IF you could find a cheap enough Titan say....and IF you electric rates are really low like in Oregon USA......and IF you want to gamble the halving will raise prices

and hell probably IF you want to heat your house this winter (really I'm killing on gas heat savings) PERHAPS you may have a shot

but lots of dominoes in a row to fall the right way..probably better to do my new type of home mining for crypto

Attic Mining

You go to attic ...sell a bunch of crap (boring as hell....groan ..in my case probably have 5k of junk) on Ebay...buy BTC and LTC

then you have an empty attic (yea!) you know fix it up (in my case about 2k) into REC ROOM ......increase value of house by say 15k (big ass attic..somewhat finished)

but damn boring let me tell you Smiley

anyway imho where folk are at now ....

oh one other thought....you have a cubicle at work and your feet get cold...you could use the asic there to heat your toes in the cubicle..I've heard of that done on the
threads....... Smiley

6107  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Litecoin is officially dead on: January 12, 2016, 08:31:26 AM
yes litecoin is dead thats why its price has doubled since the year began Roll Eyes

Yes. I do not why it is still the second largest digital coin. The market cap is still very high.
Yes you do, its network effect

There's nothing dead about it, then.

Yep, its moving on the right direction and certainly not going to back down.

it will not go down at lean not this year i sure hope it will go over this 5$ barrier if pass it then it will go on two digits for sure

by my calcs at 650 usb for btc this year everyone keeps saying ..at 0.008 ltc to btc that is $5.20 ltc..double the diff I can (with reduced elec costs NEXT winter) continue
to mine (for heat anyway even steven at worse) so yeah ..that work for me Smiley (2 titans it applies to above at ave 645mh)

6108  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: January 12, 2016, 08:20:25 AM
Anyone know if the Jupiter controller will work with the Neptune? Are the data cables also the same ?

Yes, they work fine if you load the correct firmware.

The controller never changed between Oct and Nov hoopiter.

For future reference, Searing has no clue, he just likes to hear himself talk and get his advertisement/sig more posts.
I would also point out that he easily could have a clue.
He has been given answers to most of the current questions but he is too busy talking to listen.

YMMV
Smiley

well I'm not gonna slam you for helping me...but has anyone tried this with an OCT jupiter/saturn/mercury ..they do not work with a NOV Jupiter cubes etc (mix/match)

that is my question as well...I have an OCT Jupiter Board...but to be safe ..someone should at least TRY this first with an LCD and the GUI with NO cubes and see
on ideally 1st a Neptune board in question..then next likely is the NOV jupiter board (last run) then perhaps my OCT Jupiter or others like saturn/mercury boards?

if it kinda works before tossing a Titan cube to sacrifice to the ASIC gods .....with this OCT Jupiter board

I agree it SHOULD work....at least as a test with the LCD and the GUI with no cubes to start...but again ideal would be with a neptune controller 1st imho

THAT is the main issue...i have a clone bridge coming..got it as a spare (miners are 14.5 months old orig titan warranty was 90 days sooooooo seemed prudent
with 2 titans and the 'possiblity' that is the missing piece to the controller problem ..a complete clone hardware work about

supposedly have the proper pi (nov 2014) as a spare also ...according to knc tech staff at that time (assuming they know zip) raspberry pi B+ 512mb model

just trying to help ....don't like the way i say or do such ...big whoop....at least I'm trying to ask some questions on this (ie will clone bridge work on neptune 6 port board?)

anyway thanks for the confirmation ..I will take it as help from you....no issues...BUT some confirmation of HAS SOMEONE ACTUALLY DONE THIS YET would be nice

If so I will gladly try to be the crazy 2nd guy to do so...even on my Oct Jupiter board....(the bridge clone is in the mail)

anyway thanks for the input ..if you have further info as to who has done this already shoot it out here as well for all of us....

6109  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Has anyone withdrawn Bitcoin from Cryptsy for the past 48 hours? on: January 12, 2016, 08:00:35 AM

Well again I was told "rumor" that you could get up to $22 (big whoop) out of them yet..but it takes like 5 days....just wondering if Cryptsy is at least hanging together yet
enough to even do something 'that lame'?

(hey...just trying to help the 'truly disillusioned to at least get some 'dust' back in some manner)

I suspect at this point in time..even something that 'modest' is now Kaput! but putting it out there ...just in case the 'rumor' has some merit for folks here (sorry not a better rumor)

6110  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Criptsy - i'm finally out! Mainentance coming tomorrow, be aware!! on: January 11, 2016, 11:28:23 AM
After many weeks, tons of tickets, ludicrous withdraw fees and limits and a lot of loss due to being costricted to buy 30% overpriced doge to withdraw, I finally managed to get out of cryptsy all my funds, losing "only" roughly 10-15% of it.

Tomorrow they are supposed to go in mainentance mode and fix a lot of wallets. I obviously don't trust them, and i'm very suspicious about this " scheduled mainentance" , so i'm advising you with this post.

Heh....I see your Dec 17th post above...man you sure did 'call it" ....it is now 1/11/16 and Cryptsy looks like she is gonna sink 'under the waves' any day now....

Anyway I bet you are not 'sweating' the 10-15% loss now.......(or you should not imho)

I never did use the exchange.....but following this it looks 'ugly' indeed for anyone else at this point in time getting ANYTHING out imho Sad

Anyway good move on your part Smiley

6111  Bitcoin / Meetups / Anyone Mining BTC/LTC or Whatever in Minnesota USA? (soooo lonely) :) on: January 11, 2016, 11:24:18 AM

Just tossing it out there if anyone is Mining in Minnesota......myself Mankato....others?

Figured it would be funny if somebody was also ASIC mining crypto coin of some kind nearby Smiley

(most folk in the world are now lurching for Google and are like where the hell is Minnesota?) Smiley

Whatever .....I"ll see if I get any replies on here. (Doubtful very doubtful)
6112  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Yesminer M20 / M10 on: January 11, 2016, 11:15:55 AM
Offering an Overclock for a non existent miner?
Oh man, that's hilarious!!!! LOL

most equipment asic scams of this sort do this...."special offer....last chance to 1st pre-order folk" the old FOMO to bleed some more $$$ Smiley

the next part of this drama will be the 'unfortunate delays' (end of the month) and to compensate we will INCREASE your hash rate for free

or double it for a 'modest fee'

then after that 'sorry about the delay we have had unanticipated supply problems'

then 'poof' the site goes away (probably by march)

they then go off ...make a 'new' imaginary miner.....and web site etc

rinse/wash/repeat Smiley
6113  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: 16nm ASIC, 10THS/MINER,100w/THS on wall. on: January 11, 2016, 08:05:41 AM
I am willing to do a long write up on this site. with fair and honest photos and results.

My conditions are simple send the demo when it is ready.

I won't even keep it I would return it or ship it to a customer.

I would just do a fair 7-14 day review.

I will offer even better conditions. I'll pay for this unit, but sure only after getting it in hands and testing for a while. I like to explore something new. And to prove to the community that something is real.  Roll Eyes

Ditto...I've enough cred on bitcointalk I'll do the same...you send me a unit...I'll review it...pay for the unit (unit choice up to you) and then post all over bitcointalk 'eating crow' on
me ever doubting your good intentions Smiley

Also would post pics of inside/outside and video of setup etc..I'd be your biggest cheerleader Smiley

too bad this don't work...then it would mean there was still hope for me being Natalie Portman's 'Love Puppet' alas Sad but then again the odds are the same imho for getting a yes miner unit to review Sad

6114  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Hacking KNC Neptune / Jupiter / Titan miners back to life. Why not? on: January 11, 2016, 07:48:46 AM
Yep, there are "islands of stability" in Neptunes. Strange, but something to note. Maybe the slower clock speed interferes with the power draw of the chip, causing the power supplies to restart. Hm. Tried running the junker at 100mhz all chips and the power supplies are at .8 volts, but all currents match and it's hashing at a very cool 100gh.

Anyway, I'm a bit curious as to why Titans are still such a good deal. With one running at 60mh @200 watts one should make 1.15ltc a day or 4 bucks a day. Difficulty doesn't seem to be doing squat in the LTC world. Power usage of 200w is 4.8kw a day or 50 cents of power at .10c/kw.

So each unit makes a profit of $3.50 a day. Hundred a month profit, 1.2k in a year per cube if not much changes in the ltc world.

That's interesting. Somewhere in there is a math error or something, because price always seems to match power required to hash the coin.....

Oh well. Other things to do in the next day or two, will pick this back up mid-week.

Well the Titans difficulty wise should have been 'toast' around May/June 2015 if new equip could have come out in march as stated...

firms such as alpha tech/flower tech/volcano miner etc....all around 500mh etc..the price of ltc dumped to what 1.40 usd or some such thus NO one made any

thus Titans ARE still the top scrypt miner out there ...is not scrypt data halls that I'm aware (sfards?) so there you be

an A2 Terminator uses the same watts for 110mh as a Titan 350mh uses fo same ....

anyway how i got my good deal on a titan march 1st 2015 panic on the new equip and knc (we thought) big dump on 2nd titan run perhaps a knc data hall for
titans etc....I got my Titan 2nd one (all good dies) for 569 usd and incl shipping from Australia! The guy got a neptune for like 11 btc when btc was 1000 or so
upgraded/ithat neppie order (same price) to a titan and just wanted to get his original btc back ..thus the 2.69 btc I got it expecting to mine maybe till June/July at worst

so no new equip ..difficulty went up for LTC some but not a big deal for titans but for say a 50mh 1200watt gaw miner shut down as such ...elec too high

thus  old equip falls off the bottom end of scrypt miners as they go to doorstop status due to diff rise and high elec use per mh...and no top end stuff to push the
titans down.....viola

add the price of LTC now at 3.50 or so and well if 650 usd btc comes to pass at the current 0.008 ltc to btc ratio .which is low imho) that is 5.20 usd LTC

at that price I can run this beast with my lower elec costs thru NEXT winter

now if LTC pops today to 5.40 usd ..you'd see scrypt asics hit quick ..maybe i'd only miner till nov.....but w/o new equip or even equip that comes out in my mh range
500mh at 1150 w folk say ....my titan is 350mh 1250 w ..i can run with that pack for a bit

so anyway...titans shoulda been toast in june/july...now it looks like maybe I can run them thru next winter (heat benefit and elec costs less probably)

sometimes dumb and lucky is the best plan Smiley

6115  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Litecoin will see 10$ and above 2016 on: January 11, 2016, 06:43:52 AM
There's no way litecoin will see this kind of increase the price is actually just moving because of market manipulators.
No real  new things has happened since a long time.

even last time was the same and price come to 40$ dont be so skeptic
more it will like this if ltc pass barrier 5$ the anything is possible from that ltc price go up and for that it stay on 5$

again at the somewhat 'lousy' LTC to BTC ratio now of 0.008 LTC to BTC.....IF as the pundits are saying BTC was to hit 650 usd this year

that would correspond to 5.20 LTC .....if you doubled the difficulty at that price with my 2 Titans (645mh) I'm still making 400 usd a month

after electric....if I can hang on till winter (lower elec rates) and you dumped the difficulty to 1.5x what it is now....again still 400 usd a month

after electric saying that is what the difficulty would be winter time .....on my attempt to mine yet....

But at a $5.20 price the dam would break and new asic products would flow out for scrypt imho....at 3.50 not a big rush imho ....they are waiting imho

(getting IPO capital etc ...making decision on when to pull the trigger and get them done) ...so price ..probably LTC is key here on if/when they build

some scrypt data halls and eventual probably home equip for scrypt too boot

At 5.20 LTC this would ramp up quick!

Also the equip they are kinda saying they would build for hosting or individual products (not bulk chips or data halls) are in the 500mh ball park at say 1150 watts
or some such...depending on how fast difficulty rose....a 350mh knc Titan at 1250 watts can still (in my basement) run with this pack

so anyway ...price will determine how much miners/data halls/etc will hit the world for scrypt...if I'm lucky it will be 'just enough" say 5 bucks ...to string my

Titan along thru next winter...if it was to shoot to 10 bucks ...well ....the equip would hit the world in mass and my miner would be kaput by say nov at best

we will see.....and to the skeptics ..the assumption is the historical about 0.01 ltc to btc (now at 0.008 ltc to btc) will kinda sorta stay in place

if that goes all the above is moot indeed Smiley

6116  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Yesminer M20 / M10 on: January 11, 2016, 06:33:17 AM
Wow. Now they even offer some upgrade for their unconfirmed M20 and M10 miners:

https://www.yesminers.de/en/upgrades.html  Shocked

old scammer trick ....'be one of the few to get your 'improved' miner on you pre-order....limited time" ...the last 'blush on the rose' before they cut the stem Smiley

It will wrap up soon here now....they have milked it for all it is worth Smiley

(will now go an look at link above see how close a guess the above was) Smiley

heh...just read it ....wish I could see their BTC address and then tell how much BTC they have managed to scam....would be an interesting view of human nature Smiley

heh...just looked at above site at the products..not an 'internal view' to be seen...no chip pics nada ....

well this dead horse is almost done imho..the plug will be pulled imho before feb 1st or so (but then again it is not like they are getting busted for trying this and

spouting off about their unicorn product) Smiley

6117  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: 16nm ASIC, 10THS/MINER,100w/THS on wall. on: January 10, 2016, 03:32:35 PM
Bitfury is using immersion tech in it's new mining center(s), per at least 2 announcements I've seen from them.

NOT applicable to a home miner.

yeah ..they just run slower if not in immersion see this link...supposedly you may get some of these chips 'someday' er so they say Smiley

https://bitcoinmagazine.com/articles/bitfury-to-mass-produce-new-nm-chip-and-sell-to-public-1452010171

note link above you get more with oil cooling then w/o ...but they still seem to work ..just not as good Smiley

but again will probably get these chips in a home device LONG LONG after it makes any sense to do so..with continued expected 'mad' difficulty rises due

to massive data halls etc

The boards designed for immersion won't be usable for air cooling unless they wasted a lot of space on them (very unlikely when you know the cost of a large scale immersion cooling setup).
The power dissipation needed to cool such a dense amount of chips is really hard to reach with air cooling unless you underclock (not profitable considering the cost of the chips).

Boards made for air cooling, on the other hand, can be used in immersion, the power density won't be optimal, and you'll have a harder time to recoup the initial investment, that's all.

If they wanted to demo the chips, they could simply use a smaller acrylic tank with one or two blades like the ones we use for prototyping.
I'm not sure they want (need?) to advertise.

yeah I'm just going by the above link in the article where they imply you would lose 44gh per chip if you used it in an air cool manner....again their implication...not mine Smiley

quote

According to the company’s announcement, for miners using a traditional air cooling setup, the ASIC will be able to reach hashing power of 140 GH/s. However, by using liquid immersion cooling, the chip can reach hashrates of up to 184 GH/s.

from again this link:

So again ..you could be right...but they leave the reader with the impression that

1) they are wonderful fellows 'decentralizing' and such for 'home miners' and you could ROI (with difficulty pump this could be iffy imho)

2) that home miner makers or themselves can make such miners in an air cooled manner and it would all be 'hunky dory' Smiley

Anyway likely by the time they hit the market ...these same chips in their data halls and others they have sold to in bulk will make this whole 'home miner' idea moot

again imho

anyway where I was coming from on the info....but with KNC making another 20 kw setup and bitfury making a 50 kw setting and bitmain doing something the same
and of course spondoolies also I think a 20 kw setup....difficulty for btc will get damn interesting in that they ALL seem to be gonna hit around the same month or so

fun times Smiley

I'm still hesitant. I don't really see how the bubble can un-pop in 5 days... that would be have to be some sort of record!

the power of FUD  on the dark side of the BTC force is strong Smiley

ie Cryptsy say goes full Gox....

http://bitcoinist.net/cryptsy-has-moved-out-of-their-building-unannounced-nowhere-to-be-found/  Cryptsy moved out of building!

http://bitcoinnewschannel.com/2016/01/09/paul-vern-cryptsys-ceo-seems-to-have-flown-to-china/ Off to China we go!

Remember BTC is a crypto soap opera....just add some core dev issues on the patches...and China trying or making noises to stamp down

on BTC again ..useless thou that may be...and viola 250 usd btc again!

BTC and the Circle of FUD ..they should make a movie!

yeah info on 'dead die' issues.....is re-paste a good bet on such? That I can do myself (maybe)
No, and since I am just starting on the dead die thing I am wondering if the dc-dc power supplies are what is causing dead die (not the same as board shorts out whole Titan thing). So don't replace everything yet :-)

Quote
really really want someone to donate a bridge/neptune board and pi and just see if such would at least come up with the GUI and LCD as working even w/o cubes

I can ask the guy that sent me this Rpi but when I am fixing controller boards (Titan or Neptune) I always use a BeagleBone with Neptune code as the test CPU and there is no problem testing/running them. I would find it spectacularly odd that a Neppie board will not work with a Titan at this point.

But there are some oddball differences in the Titan. This power supply vanishing act is not like the Neptunes, and these boards that shut down a controller (and quite possibly would burn up the FPGA) are a different animal as well. I'll need to spend a week probing gently to see what these are doing.

yeah it is just damn hard to put a titan cube on one of these puppies w/o being sure..I did some quick figures...if as folk say BTC goes to 650 usd in 2016 and LTC still sits at its historically lousy 0.0008 ltc to btc...at 650 for btc that is 5.20 for LTC .....at double the difficulty for LTC I can run my Titans next winter at the reduced winter elec rate
and still get 400 usd a month ..sh*t these puppies MAY just run into next winter on mostly the electric rate savings from my local util for winter electric rates

now ...I'm not so sure we will see many 'home scrypt miners" or any data scrypt halls for that matter at 3.50 usd for LTC ...but if it was 5.20 LTC price that would change quick imho

anyway....thus the issue with the Titans ...it has been almost 15 months running for my units...they were initially expected to run probably 6 months max and orig warranty was only 90 days (they screwed up and left 1 year on the web pages) ....so.....you see my issue ...stuff will start falling off the wagon here I think...would be nice to know how to tweak these puppies on the hardware end as well as the firmware end like Glenn Tarken has done

just saying.....got to keep them going for 'space heater' savings into the winter of 2017..but by doing so....I don't really want to blow them up testing stuff unless damn sure of the outcome....just saying Smiley

anyway it is all gravy for Titans now...the puppies were only supposed to maybe last till may/june 2014 with all the big ass claims of big ass scrypt miners coming out...
remember alpha tech/flower tech/volcano and others?... all 500mh machines etc..but scrypt prices crashed and thus zip came out...sometimes just being damn lucky is your own reward Smiley
6120  Economy / Speculation / Re: Matthecat reverse indicator confirmed on: January 10, 2016, 02:18:53 PM
I've said this to you before Mat, but perhaps if you just held some btc for a couple of years in cold storage and got on with your life you might do better than churning back and forth based on nothing more than whimsy Smiley

Bitcoin is an assymetric bet which if it pays off will reward you handsomely. This forum is littered with accounts of young traders who knew best but in the end lost money with an asset that rose 1000's of % over a few short years. Trading is a zero sum game and you are not in the club.

Zoom out.

my plan....mining...is my past...hoarding is my game Smiley

....knc jupiter 550gh and orig knc titan scrypt (ltc to btc) (a mistake never would roi) BUT got on panic of last march 2014 a 2nd used Titan (due to everyone thought a bunch of big ass scrypt miners were gonna show.never did) so did ROI and still mining titans....

but anyway would have been better off just buying coin and holding ...er maybe not ...2014 sucked...hmmm...have to ponder this

anyway NOW have 100 btc if converted all remaining ltc to btc (not yet ratio sucks) ..and probably will still mine next winter under winter elec rate

decline...even IF the difficulty doubles and this is IF this lousy 0.0008 ratio of LTC to BTC continues and IF as some folk say BTC hits 650 usd this year due

to halving etc ....string that together and it is still 400 usd after electric a month! (dare to dream) would be 5.20 LTC at 650 btc Smiley

so yeah ...just holding.....its the only game in town besides my next plan "attic mining' sell all useless crap in attic for BTC (prob have 5k of stuff...sooooo boring to do thou)

anyway if BTC goes poof I have clean attic ...rec room.....house value goes up 15k so ..hey....but home mining for me will die someday me thinks

also depends if ANY new big ass scrypt data halls or miners come out...but not looking too likely...at these prices ...but if the price did hit 5.20 for LTC

they'd come out of the woodwork pretty quick!

anyway moon or beanie baby ...these are the choices imho Smiley
