Why even bother buying? The sellers will take us back to 580 guaranteed. Just a waste of money at this point to buy anything above that price.

I've not been following VRC all that closely...but I've been waiting to get into a few other alts recently (vrc and or cloak). It seems that its lower than its ever been, which is confusing. Can anybody tell me what is actually going on (or correct me if you can)

I know of the MintPal fiasco, then the devs decided to roll back (fork?) the blockchain...which some people dont like (it suggests they could do this in the future/bail out exchanges?)...but apart from that what else is going on?

I thought the work in progress seemed solid, or is another coin doing the same...but better...or is it really down to the decision after the hack?

Genuinely interested, thanks for any honest (non biased) answers.

Cheers

The decline has nothing to do with Mintpal, no one with investment money cares about the Mintpal hack. Investors fed up with the lack of progress and dump the coin. The dump would not matter at all if it would have some interest in the coin, the main problem is that there is no interest in vericoin at all. Actually, it is understandable, because other altcoin projects are progressing nicely and promise more ROI.

I am sure it is a temporary thing, and the very capable Vericoin devs will fix this situation.

Well if the lack of progress is the problem in a 2month old coin than i should sell my fathers car  and buy vericoin right now because if we have lack of progress now than what acctually you will call the next releases of the devs than ? Overattached programming?.. next weeks will be very exiting stay tuned.

that is because people think after spending 1 btc in an altcoin they will be millionairs after 1 month

And many of those actually lose even that 1 btc.

It really isnt much to make a difference in the market if thats what you mean. I am poor Smiley

i think alot of people are waiting on the sidelines right now to see where vericoin is heading.
i dont think the coin is anywhere near dead with the amounts of coins staking right now.
we could see a upwards trend really soon imo.  Wink

Yes it is, but the minimum order is 12,500 tonnes. If you can afford it, you can actually buy 12,500 tonnes of urea for 12,500 URO's right now.

Anyone can write some guide how to order urea? I have this coins 12500 - where to order?

i think this includes a buying contract.
u have to pay the shipping, but if you can afford it possible to give me a hint if you get the urea?  Wink

Well so far in my experience I bought in at 40k made the tough decision to sell out at 30k post MP Hack
Bought back in at 21k and then make the tough decision to sell out at 18k
Make the very STUPID decision to buy back in at 18k and sold out between 15-14k over the last few days.

Now the real question is... do I make a stupid choice and buy back in again when it hits 10-11k? =P

Oh my a real (day) trader you are :p
Tbh 12-14 k bottom. I believe buying now is a good decision

Well I wouldn't try to be day trading this if the coin would ever go up!! I have however saved myself ~6 BTC by moving out and buying back in lower.
Like most people here I'm just trying to figure out if its worth putting my money into... So far every time I have bought in, it has been a bad decision.

Good thinking.
I would suggest you to invest in parts.
Just start buying now for 1-2 btc and then buy more after you see the market move. Its a much safer strategy then just going all-in

Also the website for pseudo will be done by blg, his asking price is 3000 pseudos, if anyone wants to donate I will add in 1000 pseudos (not used from premine)

i will add in another 1000  Wink

Can someone write up a quick guide how to set up your BTCD correctly to get the maximum stake? (Let's say for example splitting it to 10 wallets)
To get the maximum stake keep coins in one wallet/address and try to keep all coins together, you can use coin control for that

So what you are saying is to ignore the various guides from members telling us to split into multiple wallets to get maximum stake efficiency?
yes

Care to explain?
Having coins split in many addresses will just lower their minting weight, yes you will get more minted blocks but they will all be like 0.00... and by having 1 address with all coins gathered in one piece you will gain weight faster and get minted block like 0.5(example). Also important is that after your minted block gets all confirmations you use coin control to resend coins back to your address becose after they stake they split in 2 chunks. Depends of your coin size but you can get about 3 blocks in 2 days with 5-6k BTCD which will be about 1.5BTCD in 2 days

After I read jl777 guide on how to maximize staking I had to read a little about POS to understand how it works. I guess a crucial question I need answered is, when a stake finds a block isn't the reward supposed to be independent of the amount of coins inside the stake but instead equal to what ever the reward is for that block? As far as I understand the amount of coins should only influence how fast a block is found, ie. the difficulty for your wallet to find a block is proportional to the amount of coins (relative to total staking on network) multiplied by the time it's been staking, or did I miss something?
Because in that case, if we'd suppose a stake after it has found a block will start staking again right away, without being locked for a period of time, then splitting one big chunk into a multiple would still get you the exact same amount on average after enough time. to prove that you just need to draw x-y axis, x is the time, and from x=0 that's where the staking starts, a line is drawn where it's slope is equal to the amount of coins. let's say on average at y=1 you get a block. then dividing your stake to N stakes, you create N lines with slope S/N, and after N periods of time, your original stake would have earned you N rewards, and your small stakes would each earn you one reward but multiplied by N the number of stakes, so same rewards. But since there is a lock time after a reward is found, the amount of time lost with your funds locked is N times smaller if you spread your coins to N wallets instead of one big wallet blocked N times after each reward. I'm just not sure about the amount rewarded if it's independent of the number of coins or not.

Block amount depends on amount of coins

stake interest is definitly depended on the amount of staked coins.

can anyone please explain the "locktime"? do you mean the time when the coins move to your "stake" after you got interest (=found a block)?
i didnt found info regarding a locktime...

we really need this anon card to have a complete Teleport solution.

Nuff said, lets donate more, I've sent some.

Are these straight donations to the anon card project, or does a donation entitle one to some future benefit, like anon card assets? Donation is fine, just checking for any fine print.
It is actually not a donation, but it will get you prorata share of the anon card assets. The anon card assets will be getting 1% of transaction volumes.

Just finished recoding the send side of Teleport. Even have a little genetic algo to optimize privacy. Not debugged, but I think it matches darkpaper requirements.

Now for some lunch and recoding the rematerialization side of the transporter, and destruction of the original. Can't have two Captain Kirks!

am i right that btcd holders also get a % of that?
if yes would it be possible if you make a info slide with information like this?

6136  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [Moderated] [ANN][URO] A Real Long Term Currency: 1 Uro = 1 Metric Tonne Urea on: August 02, 2014, 12:05:49 AM
nobody is asking the right questions here. Any other coin with this much money pouring into it would see a price rise based on market cap. Due to all the worry and fud, every coin being mined is selling almost exactly at market cap value. This is why the price is static, as new coins are minted they are immediately bought at the current price, so the market cap remains at the exact same percentage based upon the number of coins in existence.
I'm going to address something bryce wiener said in his article here. he stated that GES would be left with a 7 million dollar hole in it's books, just from the 1st shipment, and the longer the price takes to reach parity, the bigger this "black hole" gets.. This is not quite true. This is a variable in the equation. let me start by stating that GES is invested for approximately 3 million USD. I'm going to show you how this is a self- fulfilling prophecy. everyone is assuming that the strategy is to pump up the price, then sell the coins on the market to recover the money in fiat. It's not that simple. With 1 million coins in 6 months, you are thinking that GES could lose 300 million usd, and they don't have that kind of backing. In truth, however, all they are doing is deferring receivables for 6 months.  If the price does not reach parity on the trading market, Uro Foundation will hold all of the coins. They have already sold contracts equal to 20% of the minted coins, to be paid in Urocoin.  when the million is mined out, the entities under contract will then only be able to obtain Uro to fulfill their contract by buying it from the Uro Foundation. The buyers will pay market price because it still saves them bank fees. The foundation has already announced the intent to be their own exchange, in the Uro Protocol. what they've put together here is a high powered sales team. if you research these people, the common thread is they all come from sales backgrounds. They are selling the coin to the niche market. They are signing contracts which assure a future income stream, with room for growth. The contracts are very important, because the purchaser is bound to pay with urocoin. If the only way they can get enough Uro to meet the contract terms is to buy from the foundation, they will have to pay what is asked.  The timing is key here.  it doesn't matter whether the price reaches parity here or not. 1 Uro IS one metric ton of Urea to the companies who have signed the contracts. So I see 2 scenarios here.
1. You mine the Uro and sell them for an average price, including pumps, of 3 USD. ! million coins equal 3 million usd exposure.
2. The 1st shipment arrives and price reaches parity, but the buyer purchased cheap Uro. 1 shipment equals 3 million USD. (all shipments after that are paid for by reselling the coins from the first purchase.)
THE PRICE OF THIS COIN ON THE MARKET SHOULD BE ARRIVED AT BY THIS EQUATION (conservatively) (price of one million metric tonnes Urea@ CMV x % of coins sold divided by number of coins in existence= value per coin.)
It would look something like this
 287,000,000 x .20 = 57,400,000 divided by 451,812 = 127.04 per coin true market value as of now.
MINERS AND TRADERS HAVE TO SET THE PRICE HIGHER WHILE THEY ARE SELLING THE CONTRACTS IF YOU WANT TO PROFIT. ONCE THE CONTRACTS ARE SOLD, THEY DON'T NEED YOUR COINS. TRADING WILL BE LIKE TRYING TO SELL FOOD STAMPS AT 1/2 PRICE TO THE GUY AT THE LIQUOR STORE.
This idea has already succeeded. It's good to go, with or without you.
THE ONLY ONE SCAMMING YOU IS YOU.

Very Interesting comment. Basically traders and miners should not sell cheap.
Remember 1 URO = 1 Metric Tonne of Urea = USD 300
People are being manipulated to sell USD 2.25 to 3.00, well atleast we try selling them at $10 or more!

Untill several orders of Urea are actually made, the coin will never worth 300 USD. This is currently just speculations.
As time moves on the prices will represent the amounts of orders.
But untill then, I guess this price is ok.

I think GES already secured successfully 3 Business negotiations using URO for UREA

http://greenearthsystems.com.au/ges-signs-supply-contract-for-urea-imports-into-pakistan-with-lakhani-enterprise/

1 for RIVAA; 2 for Lakhani enterprises

and more deals going on in the background.

well if we see that urea was shipped then im sure the market will move

Hey Dev,

Quick question: Is the anon system a centralized solution? The mixing engine sounds like a centralized solution. Not trying to flame just needed some clarification before I jump on board.

Thanks in advance!

hey i think thats the case right now, private nodes as mixers, but i guess you could build a decentralized solution on this where everyone could set up mixer nodes and receives payment for it? Smiley

so whats going on guys. volume is dropping is this coin dying?

hey we are still up like 150% from 31. july and i see alot of support from 3-4 k sat
6138  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Pseudocash Anonymity Testing on: July 31, 2014, 07:59:31 PM
Forced to start a thread on this, because from what I've found, the 'anon' feature of Pseudocash seems to be broken, and the dev will not address the issue.  He just deletes the posts and tells me not to FUD.

For the record the dev has been active, however he was unable to determine if my proof was in fact proof.  Leading me to believe he really isn't being honest with everyone on his abilities as a developer.

Here is my test:

I sent 829 coins from

PTnqKJtNApY32hLftcuDGVsYUkJkZBRvMQ to PT1Kza3123h1sXwvjDzknuP37nZT9FMuRy

As you can see, clear as day on the block chain where my coins went.

http://chainz.cryptoid.info/pseud/tx.dws?62334.htm

Please, don't accuse me of FUD, just test it yourself, and if I am wrong please provide proof.  I'll gladly admit fault.

And just so we are all clear... Day 1 miner here, early supporter, and you bet I sold after finding this.  I would like to buy back in since I had good feels about the coin, but I really don't feel comfortable knowing that it may not be working properly and the dev wont address it.

hi mike,

i replied in the other thread to you. in short i tried to do several transaction after you said that and all were doing fine - i could not trace it back to the original sender address.

can you explain how you did the transaction so i can try to verify it?
