hopefully the hardest part is setting a laptop/netbook/whatever to the right subnet the miner is on so ya can get in. Or - since the RasPi has HMDI out and we see USB ports - maybe just takes a kybd & mouse like security vid recorders do? Now THAT would be nice. Truly stand-alone
6122  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Official Thread: AMT on: April 10, 2014, 12:09:17 AM
If they are anything like the ones for Ants...  Roll Eyes Also only gotten on-line but free for all. Needlessly wordy and sorely lacking proper procedure and critical info. Like LAN menu is for the asic router - do not touch. WAN is where ya setup the 'net IP...

1st Ant I did took me 45min to figure things out. Now only takes maybe 5min including the reboot. Here's to hoping AMT did a better job on what should be a very simple procedure!
6123  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Official Thread: AMT on: April 09, 2014, 11:41:21 PM
Do these have a web interface aside from an IP setup, and pool/password menus? Would be nice. (Ants do). All kinds of info including network traffic is available. Also allows for all the usual 'ux type shells, system maint., & other goodies.

Well I finally got a reply. They will be shipping my miners at the end of the week. I will be posting an in-depth review on them once I get them. Seeing as they use a rasberryPI I will be easily able to query resource usage and power output as well, anyone know what linux distro AMT is running on the miners? Not that it matters BUT if I can install a single tool to monitor power usage it would go a long way towards getting repeatable consistent results from the OS itself. Powerstat is the tool I would be using as part of my test suite to measure power.

Maybe with some work we can squeeze out some more juice if the right tweaks are in place. But for the moment I think just getting the hardware and measuring its baseline performance is the first step.

Invest in one of these...http://www.p3international.com/products/p4400.html

Yea got one of those too. Its part of my testing suite. I just want to see if the OS reports the same general information. Consistency and repeatability is the goal here which the killawatt can do on its own too BUT having a second internalized tool I can refer to later on can help too. I will set it up in my office for now as I cleared the circuit for a single unit temporarily until I get it housed in the colo. I just wanted to get a review out on it.

I will do a written review with alot of detail and data. Prepared the format already just gotta start setting it up. Figure this will be important for benchmarks and such. Might post it in a separate thread tho. It will get lost in here.
One biggie benchmark should definitely be HW error rate on them both raw and calc'd per the usual format,  Error % = HW/(diffA+DiffR+HW)*100

The worst of my S1's over the past 4 days stands at 0.0000019768% error rate. My best one adds several more zeros in there... Raw HW counts: worst 36,438, best Ant a mear 526. Again that is over the past 4d 17h 23m 40s. Frickin' outstanding!

My only comparison is my 2 10ghs Jala's. One holds @ 0.37% the other @ 6.7% calc's error rate...

Bet they are running Arch and possibly OpenWrt if there is an internal router for feeding the ASICS. The miner prog itself should be CGminer. Just a guess but that is how Ants do it. Should be able to just ssh or PuTTY the IP address to get in.

Also of course sitting here in the Dark hoping for a surprise delivery...  Not a peep from AMT aside for 1 from Alyssa (?) per my request for a 520 DIY kit when they 1st announced them.

I say around Midnight Eastern. Has been the past few times I think.

They have contacted me and said they are shipping me a miner. It is bittersweet because I wanted a refund. I will let you know the hash rate, I am expecting 1.2T. They did not offer compensation for the months of lost bitcoins. I will let you all know how it works by doing a short test.
Well, certainly better than any further drawn out delay at least.

My current total Ant S1 cost for a little lower than 1.2TH is $4,300 (for reference, my AMT 520 cost $4089) and just under 2x the power usage per-GHs compared to what the A1 systems draw. So still not a bad deal for you  - aside from lost revenue. Especially considering I only got off so cheap on the Ants because of their huge price drop over the past few weeks. These last 2 through Amazon were $549ea & free 2 day shipping.

When I ordered the 520 in Late Feb Ants were still over $1400ea even direct from China so seemed a no-brainer at the time to order the 520.

Anyone seen this before for a blade case/cage? http://www.anandtech.com/show/7770/red-harbinger-tests-the-cryptocurrency-chassis-market-the-dopamine
Looks mighty interesting. Wonder if it would fit our stuff?

I''ve seen it. It is expensive.
But sooo pretty... und stackable as well.

Thinking about toying with using a form of liquid cooling called the Rankine cycle with this 3M fluid http://multimedia.3m.com/mws/mediawebserver?mwsId=66666UgxGCuNyXTtlXftMxMVEVtQEcuZgVs6EVs6E666666--&fn=prodinfo_nvc7000.pdf
It boils at 34C - perfect point for chips to run and a Rankine cycle spinning a generator can be used to recover a substantial amount of power back from the waste heat. ref http://multimedia.3m.com/mws/mediawebserver?mwsId=66666UgxGCuNyXTtNxf2oxfaEVtQEcuZgVs6EVs6E666666--&fn=NovecFluidsORC_6003645.pdf

the ASICS are LC on the Imp's but the PSU they need rarely is. But - they ARE available if you know where to look. Their problem is with the older miners sent out.
6133  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Official Thread: AMT on: April 08, 2014, 11:31:29 PM
I'm just amazed Barbecue Flambe' Liability has not been sued over their literally flaming PSU problems... Is not good when the Majik Smoke is released... Oh-oh... OT! Um, oh yeah, folks make sure that your TH miner PSU(s) has good access to air.
There. Does that do it?
6134  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Official Thread: AMT on: April 08, 2014, 11:20:36 PM
Thanks notfuzzywarm, with so many links on news articles to this forum, they need to do something to stop the bleeding
ja. opieum2 has given AMT a lot of sound advice on PR. Hopefully they will take some of it to heart.

Not sure if this will make it past the mods but, as been said before look at BFL: Even worse delays, had (and yes, still has) customers screaming about it and yet once they started communicating and acting on the refund issues - which took a long time and lawsuits/threat of same to do it - that mostly has been turned around reasonably well. If they can do it so can AMT.
6135  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Official Thread: AMT on: April 08, 2014, 11:04:06 PM
I just want a refund.
And I along with so many others hope that AMT steps up to the plate and gives it to you.

I will just be happy eventually getting my miner. To tide me over until then, got 2 more Ant S1's arriving tomorrow making 6 for me Ant Pharm...
6136  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Official Thread: AMT on: April 08, 2014, 10:58:14 PM
Always love the "not usable in the UK" bit. Most PSU's are auto-range for voltage and if not then have a selector switch, can handle 50Hz just fine and have standard IEC receptacles on them. All they need is the right cord for the plug end or a pin adapter...
6137  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Official Thread: AMT on: April 08, 2014, 10:37:42 PM
We shipped his rig yesterday, we're trying to find his tracking number in the moment.

Here's a free tip. When you create shipping labels, you can enter the recipient's email address. That way the recipient gets a nice tracking email automatically! No need to hunt through thousands of receipts littering the back seat of your Pinto.

Since AMT has a corporate account at Fedex, it'll only take less than a minute to retrieve the info from Fedex's site. Same true for UPS, of which I shipped yesterday and already have an account I can visit online to hunt all past and future orders.

i did receive my tracking number today as quoted. they "found" my tracking number and e.mailed me it today and shipped miner (diy kit)yesterday
Any word on if with or without PSU & wattage?
6138  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Official Thread: AMT on: April 08, 2014, 07:10:27 PM
thank you amt for shipping my miner and providing tracking number. i will upload pics and vids once its here and set up

EDIT: i know ur all gonna ask so im order #1428
Cool. That for a 520 right?
yes thats correct, i opted for the kit and was given 3 boards instead of 2 which they said would run turbo @ 700-750ghs (extra board for delay)

Interesting.... So someone's getting some MPP what about people like myself with 1.2 orders?
Was waiting for that. Well....
AFAIK the 520ghs and under miners were/are actually from BitMine.ch and resold by AMT as opposed to the 1.2's being AMT's own handiwork. IF that is the case then us with smaller miners are now getting what BMch has replaced the 520's with (or AMT's own version of it). Since is now 200ghs/blade and that don't divide evenly into 520...

and as for
" Resale Prohibited. Unless expressly authorized in writing by AMT, you shall not resell Product(s). If you breach the terms of this paragraph, in addition to AMT’s cancellation rights, you agree to fully indemnify AMT, its officers, employees and distributors from any and all resulting liability, including attorneys’ fees and costs."

THAT is an impossible thing to even try to enforce. The machines are not rented or leased. There is no proprietary software in them (Autodesk case comes to mind) and no license to use said software issued. They are based on cgminer and linux both of which are open source.

Once delivered they are ours to with as we please.
