I don't want petroleum residue on my meat. Gas grills are for wimps who turned their backs on an ancient rite men has shared with every ancestor.
Gas grills are not for me. The wood when burned gives the meat a special taste and aroma. The food is cooked on gas do not. Besides, BBQ is not just food, but also the process of communication. I can not imagine how you can eat the meat roasted over the gas.

Gas grills burn propane which is usually a hydrocarbon mix, but this is still the volatile end of hydrocarbons. That means it's a very pure mix of H and C atoms. I wouldn't worry about "petroleum residue."

I've cooked meat on gas grills and wood fire and took them inside, and people uniformly prefer the wood cooked fire product.

However, many vegetables don't do well with the smoke flavor. (A few do)

I understand your angst and alarm, but I don't think this is regukation.. I think they are looking to develop technologies that reduce carbon emission from grills, which are nothing compared to say, any car, but in the aim of reducing the amount of carbon where they can. The evil EPA isn't trying to get into your ribs/burgers/brisket. They just want the planet to persist, which is apparently an evil thing to some people Wink

You're wrong.  It is exactly the evil of excess regulation. Agency hires 1000 new heads, each is assigned to subject areas. The low lying fruit is already picked, new areas are required for regulation in minute detail. Voila, 10 new hires assigned to BBQ grill EVIL EMISSIONS.

Fuck, that's out of control crazy as far as it could get.

But how would this affect the consumer? If they figured something out, it would be on the grill makers to implement it, who might pass it along to the consumer. But if they can build a better grill, and the gov already did the research for them, why shouldn't they, if they can help reduce the carbon footprint? They would only implement this if it were feasible, and it would take many years to roll out. And would overwhelmingly affect China, I feel as though they make the majority of American grills. And when you have more dudes than you need (this is all government), you get these shit projects that someone kicks out at a board meeting, and some gruny is expected to churn a report out for. It's happened to me, the dreaded feasibility report. I think this was more conjecture than threat.
Because there is NO "carbon footprint" to charcoal or wood fire.

According to this article (I didn't dig deep) they actually do, as we rarely burn pure charcoal anymore, but those little bullshit brickets that are made of a bunch of filler. Propan isn't that bad, and surprisingly, electric grills are the worst offenders. Also, the article raised the point that obtaining actual charcoal is not the most common thing, and it usually isn't local, so the carbon footprint involved in getting it to you factors in as well.

bullshit.

And if you fall / fell for it, that's a different kind of problem.

You are a wannabe perverted authoritarian liberal control freak in want of a mission, and have latch onto BBQ regulation as your salvation and the purpose of your life. Your righteous task is to search the streets, sniffing for the EVIL 'QUE.

Bruh, if I could roam the streets, roll.up.on unsuspecting fools, and confiscate their delicious grilled and smoked meats, I would drop.everything. now. This keyboard. The mic. I don't give any fucks,  there is smoky pork, beef and chicken in need of inspection.

No I'm kidding
I think this is overreaching, but if it is interpreted as the OP did, which is alarmist. This is one of those waste of money projects that I condemn for being a waste of money. I don't think this is Big Environment putting the screws to us.

What is hilarious though, is if you replace the carbon emissions with pot. It's a fucking plant, and motherfuckers actually will come to your crib, take your shit, and imprison you for having it. It would be like it I came and sniffed que, wrote citations, seized the meat, grill, and your house, and then arrested you.

So, if you feel the same way about the right to emit grill carbon (who really does give a fuck about this LOL) as I feel about the sweet, sweet Chiba, I certainly understand your outrage, sir Wink

AMD yes, real men burn their food over wood. This is America, dammit.
Well, you just need to wing it down to Texas, where with Bush and all that, yeah, well you can still find pockets of decrepit socialism, but even there the que is over wood with a definite aroma in the air of high resin content dwarf beauties...., and those bastions of Liberalama around Austin, they're likely to be packing lest Que Controllers of Boston, Philly or some other hyena state come marching in their stormtrooper outfits, with que sniffing dogs.

Thing is, the dogs never go back.

I'm hoping Bernie survives til 2020

I will not be surprised if the DNC forces Hilary on the people again. Her time is gone and over. Apart fro Joe Biden and Bernie Sanders there isn't anyone who can successfully challenge Trump.

They can't

Go ahead and google, "the most popular politicians in America", and tell me if you see any names besides Bernie Sanders
here's a link
https://www.google.com/search?q=most+popular+politicians+in+america&*

In 2015, nobody knew who Bernie was... they kept him out of the media, only held 3 debates, all on satuday nights, etc... so nobody would know who he was or what he stood for

But now in 2017, everyone knows who Bernie is, and they wish they had voted for him...

They simply could not use the same tactics

I have to agree. I think Hillary is finally coming to grips with her unlikeability among a sizeable.portion of the population. The Clintons have too much baggage to participate in the Federal government again, but they will do swimmingly in Washington proper. Bernie isn't in bed with the sponsors seemingly, his non sponsored views are refreshing.

Lol, you and some other true believers in Bernie should understand that a lot of Americans do not want, and do not like his version of dog-tired old rehashed socialism, and are not excited about it one bit.  Yes that includes democrats. Regardless, go ahead and get him nominated so Trump can easily win Term #2. I won't complain.

F-16 FROM ANDREWS AIR FORCE BASE .....

OK, now we have: 1. It was not a training flight. 2. It was a fully loaded aircraft with full ammunition. 3. It was a definite shoot down. 4. The pilot cared about damage caused by the crash, (so he's a good guy) and 5. The media suddenly shut up about it. Hush orders.

FYI, training missions often carry ordinance. They train on ... training ... missions.

Fighter jet ejections often result in broken bones.

Planes go down sometimes. It wasn't a definite shoot down. Duh.

The media has not "suddenly shut up about it."

No. He won't. Even if he is able to participate in the Democrat primaries, he won't be able to secure the nomination, due to massive amounts of voter fraud. BTW, I heard that Elizabeth Warren is going to be the Democrat nominee for 2020. Another cakewalk for Trump assured.

Also, Sanders was born in 1941.  He would be running for president at 79 years old, which really does not seem possible.
Many people said that Bernie Sanders shouldn't be running for president as he is too old even now.
But the same people forget that Trump is only 5 years younger, and he is currently 70 (born in 1946)
So does Trump's life expectancy is so different that Sanders'? They both can live for more than 10 years.
Bernie has already survived to 74, with no terminal disease or anything like that, in good health.

I guess so. And if he does get tired durin the tremendously exhausting campaign trail, they can just inject him with some of those zombie robot inducing control drugs like they did Hillary? Wait, then he'd look stoned, crazy and plastic like Hillary, stumbling around, tripping, eyes rolling hysterically, and develop a meaningless hyena's cackle of a laugh.

It's gonna be the HillaryBernie Monster.

I wish someone would just nuke all the arab countries so we can rid this world of the awful filth that the arabs are.

There is no point in nuking the Arab nations, as the Muslims have spread all around the world (perhaps with the exception of certain nations such as Japan, South Korea, Belarus, Bhutan, Laos, North Korea.etc). Western nations will be Muslim majority by 2050 or so.

Unless they use nukes first, including if they do so by giving the nukes to one of their hundreds of terrorists groups which do their bidding.

In such a case, bye bye Tehran.
6131  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Do you hate muslems? on: April 05, 2017, 03:31:42 AM
For all things in life you have to pay. Muslims are themselves to blame for the fact that all over the world hate them. That it was not necessary to persuade people tolerant to treat them, not to carry out attacks.

That's what happens if a group of people, such as Muslims, think they are better than all other people, which is what Islam teaches them.

I live in Bulgaria and there are many muslims here. Even though we were slaves to Turkey for over 5 decades I can't say I hate them since I treat person by his personality, not by his religion or race. Saying I hate them because they are muslim is wrong cuz I think there are more bulgarians I hate at all

Yeah if the lab tests take 10-14 hours and in the field it took less than 1 hour I am not buying it either.  There are enough redundancies so even if each crew had a bad weekend and was hung over there would not be enough errors to add up to any situation where this could have happened as officially explained..

Making stuff up now?

All that had to happen was for the concrete/rebar to heat to a point where the rebar other steel lost it's required tensile strength. Most of those beams are "pre stressed" which means under temperature they can collapse all that more easily.

Please find more interesting grounds for your conspiracies.

I've heard that before. Not sure if you can generalize that much.

I know many girls who get sick when they think about having sex with oter women.

Just another propaganda overload from the liberal leftists. The percentage of homosexuals among the females is around the same as that among the males (i.e around 1%). I am not even going to read the research by lunatics such as Meredith Chivers. That lady is a perfect example of a biased liberal nutcase, and her research is full of lies and misrepresentations.

Yes. All the studies are not suitable for women from our country. I do not understand how it is possible to conduct research, this is complete nonsense.

Scientists such as Chivers are famous for rigging their research, by giving chemicals to the test subjects in order to alter the sexual orientation. She induces gay behavior in her test subjects and then claim that all the animals in the world are gay.
Not disagreeing with the sentiment or the conclusion, but a couple factual corrections. I seem to recall that the percentages admitting to one or several same sexual experiences was 5-10%, and those MIGHT be labeled "bisexual." Not homosexual.

I couldn't agree with such labeling though, because if after a same sex experience one returned to opposite sex, that would mean an affirmation of attraction to the opposite sex.

The category being alluded to here, BISEXUAL, would be a group that was attracted or capable of sexual relations with both sexes over a long enough term for that to be considered a personality trait. That would be a quite small percentage. Not really even worthy of discussion or debate.

The twisting of the logic here is apparent. It's as if the claim was that women loved to be raped because they had orgasms while being raped. Orgasms are enjoyable, hence they enjoyed being raped.

That's repulsive and ridiculous.
6136  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Up Like Trump on: April 04, 2017, 01:35:43 AM

It is important to note the guidelines for the ASTM test. That is: with fire raging under the entire length of a concrete slab, the top of the concrete (the unexposed surface,) at the length of time stated, the temperature of the top of the concrete will not go above 325 farenheit. That's what? A thousand degrees below failure temp after 4 hours on the lowest grade concrete 7 inches thick, with the high grade stuff not going over that temperature at a little over 5 inches thick, with 2,000 degrees on the other side of it for two hours? And the interstate, with 24 inch thick concrete everywhere, bit the dust with about 20 minutes of feeble flame, another 20 minutes of strong flame and about 8 minutes RAGING of flame that would actually match the ASTM test? GIVE ME A BREAK, the interstate was blown NO IFS OR BUTS. Maybe Trump was questioning the 911 collapses, so they had to stage another example! All the while TRUMP HAS GOT TO KNOW THAT ASTM CODE IF HE IS IN CONSTRUCTION. Yeah, when there is an agenda magic happens!

Huh?

Now Trump is involved?

Did anyone report an explosion?

Lots of us are interested to see if Trump follows Bush, and Obama especially in his later years, and uses false-flag techniques for population management.  It will tell us a lot about the man and how he intends to govern (assuming he has much choice.)

Some of you Bay Area people may remember another similar freeway incident involving the McCarthy Maze.  That was around the time when a lot of engineers started questioning the ability of fire to collapse the twin-tower structures.  A guy crashed a fuel truck in the middle of the night when nobody was looking and within a short period of time the overpass collapsed.  In that case the paving was asphalt which at least had the theoretical possibility of melting and moving to create a heavy spot.  The simplest explanation to me, however, was that it was a 'demonstration' to 'prove' that fires could collapse things in real life where it is impossible to achieve in the lab.  Within hours the mainstream media were reporting that it 'proves the 9/11 conspiracy theorists wrong.'

Huh? Sounds like you are starting with the conclusion and modifying events and making them support the desired, pre ordained conclusion.

Asphalt? Fuel truck? Simplest explantation?

It's easy to calculate the btu or joule input to move steel along it's strength/yield curve vs temperature, and that's no big deal.

Of course you can do this in the lab. The charts were developed from lab data.

I'd expect nothing else but a fuel truck fire to collapse a bridge, by the way.

Lol, citing fire codes is only "proof" that in reality, standards exist. There could be a number of reasons for the failure of the beams OTHER THAN THEIR NOT MEETING THE CITED FIRE CODES.

The most common would be the actual conditions were different in some critical way than the test conditions.

Not a big deal, but interesting.

Well, well, money and power corrupt people and turn them into monsters. Go figure.

I now believe that a permutation of this is more accurate.  Basically I think that people are picked up specifically because they are at least semi-monsters, then a process of grooming is undertaken.  The grooming includes enhancing their already immoral characteristics, obtaining compromising information on them, etc.  After that process they are 'qualified' for high government posts.

'Democracy' here in the U.S. is so dependent on funding that it is normally not to difficult to get a chosen person to the very top in the 'elected' sphere.  Most of the true power in the shadow government is not in the 'elected official' category.  Much of it is corporate chairmanships, NGO leadership roles, etc.

The Grooming of the Semi Monsters.

Well now.

Now we have to add to a collection of Semi Monsters.
