6141  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitfinex will list hard fork coin as an altcoin with ticher B2X on: October 07, 2017, 11:47:23 AM
effing bitfinex always adds these coins way before they even become a thing! this just proves they don't care about bitcoin, they just want to take advantage of the situation and attract more traffic (traders) to make more money.
they did the same thing with bitcoin cash and bitcoin unlimited adding each of them way before they even existed. BU didn't even come to exist and they had (don't know if they still have!!) the market for it Shocked

Markets are there so people can speculate on unknown future outcomes. I think it's exactly what a good exchange should be doing. They're not taking a side on the politics, they're just providing a service to people who want to stake a position on it. Making money from trading commissions is the business they're in.

6142  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What are the most used exchanges these days? on: October 07, 2017, 06:45:30 AM
Moving back to what I was talking about at first. This is insane to see something like HitBtc, Bitfinex, and Bittrex above a company like Poloniex which practically had a majority of the entire Bitcoin community trading on it.

Any reasons behind this rapid change?

Poloniex has been getting a bad reputation very quickly. Lots of people complaining that they can't withdraw or had their accounts frozen for no reason. Their support is not answering tickets and they closed the troll box because it was full of people complaining. The signs don't look very good whether it's just being badly run or something more serious, either way, trading volumes there are decreasing as people pull their coins out.
6143  Economy / Gambling / Re: FreeBitco.in - Win free Bitcoins every hour! on: October 07, 2017, 06:38:17 AM
I saw freebitco has opened up a new option which gives us chance to mine bitcoins using browser.
Can anyone explain how does browser mining work? Do i need to kepp my browser open 24 hours?

It's probably best not to do that as you'll be paying too much for electricity. It's really designed to be run on a PC that's turned on anyway. You can set the CPU mining usage percentage quite low while you are using the PC for other things and just collect a little BTC in the background and then when you take a break you can switch it to 100%.

Amazing.
This site is really doing good for bitcoin.
It allows new users to get a small amount of bitcoins just to try the system, it helps to introduce new people to bitcoin which also helps the price increase.
I think that the site should be allowing a donation bottom so donors could increase the faucet rewards

I agree that it's a great site and must have introduced many people to Bitcoin. BTW It's easy to donate, just play dice too long  Cheesy

That would be donation if you lose, and you should lose your deposited bitcoin not only the earning from the faucet. If you just play the dice with the faucet money then it is not a donation coz you have just sent their money back LOL

Well OK, I should have said make a deposit and play dice too long.

Also, does anyone have any ballpark stats on how many sats you could expect to earn per million hashes solved? Obviously, this won't be an exact science because of all the variables, but I'm looking for what your experiences have been so far as far as earning per/hash goes. If the reporting changes I highlighted above were implemented, it would be easier to determine what the earnings per million hash rate is.

I did do some figures when they first implemented it but I threw away the Postit note I scrawled them on. It will change all the time with XMR exchange rate anyway. But the way I did it was to, after not mining overnight, make a note of the total mining income number and then run it for 1 hour. Then after stopping it, you need to wait at least 5 minutes for the next BTC credit to appear then just divide the increase in income by how many hashed you did in an hour.

And I am wondering if more people mine with their browser on freebitco, will it increase the average payout. Because the more miners, the more chances to find a block. And finally why antivirus are reported coinhive site as infected. Can we blindly trust freebitco for mining?

Antivirus has always given a positive indication on all mining software, that's because it could be planted on your device without your knowledge to steal your processing power and electricity. If you intentionally want to mine it's safe to add it to your antivirus ignore list.
6146  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Chart analysis on: October 07, 2017, 03:58:47 AM
I don't really look at the chart or read people chart analysis when I trade crytpo-currencies in the exchange, because crypto-currencies market is different from the stocks in one area, which is the huge volatility in bitcoin, it would be better to read about upcoming news on bitcoin daily, whenever there is a positive news, there is always a chance for the price to rise high, but vice-versa, the price could drop huge too if there are a lot of negative news on bitcoin spreading around in the bitcoin community.

But I think that Your method works only on long term investing. Short term without charts is 100% gambling  Smiley

On the contrary. Long-term investing is nothing to do with trading and you should be making investment decisions based on fundamental analysis, not technical analysis.

Professional traders at proprietary trading firms don't use charts at all and base all their trades purely from order flow from the DOM (depth of market) trading interface.

Using charts is for what I would call medium-term or swing trading, trades that last more than a few minutes may be up to several days or weeks.
6147  Economy / Gambling / Re: bustadice – Next Generation Dice (Ƀ 20 max profit & 10 bit faucet) on: October 06, 2017, 04:54:28 PM
No, you just keep it in your own wallet (or cold storage, or what ever you want). Your "onsite" is the amount kept as as "collateral". And the second that it's possible for a max-profit win that would cause your onsite to be negative (and thus you have a debt to the site)  the site will instead margin call you  (simply set your "offsite" to 0, and give you some free credits to reestablish your position)

Ahhh, that's how you're doing the risk management. It makes sense now, thanks for taking time to explain. I've been puzzled how it works for a few days.
6148  Economy / Gambling / Re: bustadice – Next Generation Dice (Ƀ 20 max profit & 10 bit faucet) on: October 06, 2017, 04:34:35 PM
Now you are risking a max of 0.75% * (onsite + offsite). If that number ever exceeds your "onsite" it means you could potentially become negative balance onsite if someone won max profit -- so the site will "margin call" you. Which simply means setting your offsite to 0, and giving you dilution fee credits to reestablish your position

Thank you very much for your explanation. I'm a futures trader so I'm very familiar with the concept of margin calls, although brokers have automated risk management systems in place to prevent that ever becoming a reality I will experience.
So that just leaves the question of how you would enforce that margin call. Is the offsite held in an escrow or something?
6149  Economy / Gambling / Re: bustadice – Next Generation Dice (Ƀ 20 max profit & 10 bit faucet) on: October 06, 2017, 03:26:46 PM
By depositing Ƀ 0.36308284 and investing it at maximum leverage you are participating in the bankroll as if you had contributed roughly Ƀ 3.07 to the bankroll. Since your share of the profits is based on your entire investment, the dilution fee is also charged on that amount, not just on the part you deposit.

Anything else would be unfair to the investors that choose to use less leverage and deposit more of their investment, after all.

Can anyone explain to me how the leverage works? Where does the extra coin come from, is it borrowed from somewhere? If it is borrowed do you have to pay interest on the loan?
6150  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will dogecoin price increase? on: October 06, 2017, 03:18:40 PM
I am holding an amount of dogecoin but it is down badly. Do you think it will increase?  Sad

I would try to think of any reason why it would recover in price and sadly I cannot think of one. It does have quite an enthusiastic community using it, but that's not new it's always been there. It's a coin that has a huge supply, the coins just keep coming which is always going to keep the price suppressed. I think it's one of those coins that will always be around but I don't see any reason it should recover it's price to highs we have already seen.

Hi,

I commented my name twice over at your promotion thread, but I have not yet received the 0.05mBTC bonus.

Can you help? Thanks.

They credit you at the end of the month 5000 sat for every day that you posted in the thread. So it's going to be totaled up and you'll get paid later.

6152  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What are the most used exchanges these days? on: October 06, 2017, 12:57:13 PM
As per coinmarket.com, the following are the 24 Hour Volume Rankings (Exchange).

1. BitMEX
2. Bithumb
3. Bitfinex
4. Bittrex
5. HitBTC
...
8. Poloniex
9. Kraken
11. Binance
..
14. GDAX

Unfortunately, I was out of the trading scene for a good six months If I'm not mistaken. But I used to trade with Poloniex as well. Lucky I was able to quit was Poloniex has good support back then. Are you going back to trading though? I think more experience members can chime in their review and you can decide where to go. Goodluck.

Poloniex certainly seems to be having a fair number of issues. Just the number of people complaining of difficulty withdrawing and inability to get any response from support would ring alarm bells to me.
Depending on what you want to trade I'd recommend Bitfinex for the main coins and Bittrex for wider coverage of altcoins. Bitfinex is certainly where the BTCUSD volume is at these days.

6153  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: do you like slot games ? on: October 06, 2017, 12:04:59 PM
you might prefer physical slot machines, but keep in mind you don't know what the edge on those machines are, or how they're programmed to work. for all you know, those things might be sitting on a 10% edge. in fact, I remember reading an article featuring an interview with a casino manager some time ago; relative to the money spent, the manager disclosed that the slot machines made the house the most money.

I was really talking about the slot machine generally found in pubs here in the UK. The edge is even worse, typically 15%, but must be displayed on the machine by law. They're not really for serious gambling just entertainment, stand around chatting with your mates drinking a pint and shove a few quid in the fruity to see if you get lucky and the next round of drinks is free.
What I was trying to say is the makers of those machines do a very good job of making interesting gameplay. Lots of features and bonuses, even a skill element with gambling up your winnings on a yes/no button which you can become good at hitting every time with a bit practice (of course the machine will still quickly take it back from you).
I just find it odd that online slots are so dull in comparison. There is no reason that any type of machine, physical or online cannot be run with whatever house edge the operator desires.
6154  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Chart analysis on: October 06, 2017, 10:48:58 AM
That makes sense. I didn't account for automated high frequency trading, but I also assumed that part of what makes technical analysis less applicable to crypto is the general lack of trading expertise creating a more random market. Add to that relatively low trading volume and you get every pumper's dream and every technical analyst's nightmare.

That's pretty much the case on the low volume altcoins. High volume and liquidity markets like BTCUSD I find technical analysis is still very useful even though not as precise as on futures markets.
6155  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Chart analysis on: October 06, 2017, 08:54:31 AM
In concur. A buddy of mine is doing a lot of stock trading and has also dabbled in forex and crypto a bit, and according to him it's very different. The basic rules still apply, but much less reliably. Nonetheless I guess it's mostly a matter of experience, so if you know your technicals and watch the crypto markets a bit you should be able to take your own lessons on which techniques work and which don't.

I also come from a traditional trading background. I think the reason for what your buddy observes is that the big hedge funds use algorithmic trading systems and these are not present on crypto. A lot of those algorithms are built from technical patterns and because the big players are using them they become a self-fulfilling prophecy. There are some trading bots available for crypto but their systems are highly primitive in comparison.
6156  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: FreeBitco.in - Win free Bitcoins every hour! on: October 06, 2017, 07:21:48 AM
and I can tell you you need to be above the withdrawal threshold and have at least double your free roll earnings to have the captcha removed based on experience. If you want proof make a new account and send some coins to it but under the withdrawal threshold and you will still have to do the captcha to claim. It isn't something I can easily prove with my account though since I just passed 15k free roll earnings which means I will always be above the 30k threshold with double the balance.

If that's the case then it's an additional requirement that the site owners have not stated. The original post I corrected just said that 30,000 was the requirement when actually the requirement is double your total free roll winnings.

I'm not going to get banned for multi-accounting to prove it, I'll just believe you as setting a threshold like that makes sense.
6157  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: FreeBitco.in - Win free Bitcoins every hour! on: October 06, 2017, 04:37:00 AM
I was told I need to reach 30k sat to say goodbye to captcha, either with a deposit or any other mean (roll, lottery, referral, etc)

You were told wrong. Read the two posts in this thread previous to yours for the correct answer.

he is correct, you need to be above the withdrawal threshold of 30k to have no captcha, I deposited 20k into my account when I 1st started and still had to do the captcha till I hit 30k

No, 30,000 is the withdrawal minimum. As has been stated many times in this thread captcha is removed when your balance is double your total free roll winnings.

go deposit and ur captcha will be gone.. Smiley
what? are you sure? how many deposit does it take to get rid off the captcha?

This question has been answered multiple times in this forum thread, but here's the answer once again:

To remove the captcha you should deposit a Bitcoin amount equal to the amount of your free roll earnings. You can see your current free roll earnings by clicking "Stats" and then "Personal Stats". For example if you earned 0.001 BTC from free rolls, you should deposit 0.001 BTC to your FreeBitco.in BTC deposit address and the captcha will be removed. My advice is to deposit a bit more, because if you continue with free rolls, the earning from free rolls will soon become more than the deposited amount and the captcha may return. Please someone correct me if something in my answer is wrong.

Close enough to being correct. A simpler way of putting it is that you need a balance of double your total free roll earnings. You don't have to deposit it, you can win it from gambling or earn it from referrals as well.

Please at least read at least a few posts back before posting incorrect information.
6158  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: Why waste time to earning some coin on site faucet? on: October 05, 2017, 02:07:11 PM
Personally,  I like the faucet site which gives free coin  Grin. but in the end I feel bored because the income is not that much and I think it's a waste of time.
give me a reason why people spend the time to get bitcoin on a faucet site rigth now?  Huh
Just think if some one like you and me thought in the same way about a particular faucet(don't remember the name...a couple of months back a senior member talked about this 'now archived faucet' giving the link too) way back around 2010/11 that used to give 1 btc every hour, how would we feel now to have got bored of/ignored it then?
That is special about BTC.

The very first BTC faucet gave 5 BTC per claim which of course was just fractions of a penny at the time, just like the faucets now.

mmm cold wallet seems solid... this gives a little bit of trust but I would like to see movement or signing of messages to be sure.
I did not find if there is a way to invest in the casino. There is a link for investor but is not working at this moment. The site is supposedly be down today but I see the comment from another user that this URL is down from days ago.

Can somebody guide me to opt in as an investor?

It's only been down for maintenance since 6am this morning, I looked at my investments a little before that. The site games are back up and you can access the investment page with the details you need. It's just the detailed reports of each individual investment that isn't available while the maintenance continues.
