6141  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2019 NBA Season on: August 10, 2019, 06:00:11 AM
Carmelo in Miami would be great, he would actually get some minutes and they would actually not care if he does what he does, they are already tanking and they do not really have any chance at the title so that means Carmelo could play like he always plays and nobody would mind.
What  Huh That doesn't even make sense. Why would the Heat even want to pay a guy like Carmelo millions if they're tanking? Or are you saying they need Carmelo to drag them down even further?
He must be kidding, Miami is a decent team, they almost get to the playoffs last season, if we are talking of the worse team here that could give him enough minutes, he should go back to his old team which is the NYK because they ended with the worst record of 17 (w) 65 (L).

Yeah right, he should go back to NYK but I don't think he will sign again into that team coz we know melo only wants to have big bucks and not about playing time.

If that is his reason to play then I have doubt that teams will take him. Let's be honest, he is no longer in his prime so he don't have the bargaining power. He would be lucky to see teams offer him $2-$3 million for a year.

As for NYK, he was given the chance there and they are now building a team which core includes the young and upcoming prospect, Zion. He could be bound to a team that somewhat needed some mentorship, who knows he may even be an assistant coach in the future if he wanted to really involved himself in the NBA.
6142  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Andy Ruiz vs Anthony Joshua II on: August 10, 2019, 05:36:11 AM
Anthony Joshua really over look Andy Ruiz during the first fight, he even admittedly says that we has looking to fight Deontay next. Unfortunately, Ruiz Jr. derail all the plans for that mega fight to happen.

So with that said, I think Joshua will do everything so regain what he has lost here so it will be very interesting fight. So I think he is more motivated here so I'm going to say that Joshua will win this and set up that mega fight either Deontay or Tyson Fury.

As for the venue, we all know how rich Middle East was, so for sure a lot of money was presented in the table just to secure the fight and I wouldn't be surprised if others big fights will happen in that region.
6143  Economy / Economics / Re: Does it helpful when blockchain integrated to government system? on: August 09, 2019, 06:22:14 AM
Well it is really up to the government themselves. But usually third world and developing countries are corrupt (like the country I lived it). So it's really hard to just impose and say that they are going to introduce blockchain technology to help the red-tape and bureaucratic intricacies.

I think only the developed and 1st world country will easily adapt like China, Japan, Canada, UK, Sweden and US perhaps. Unless third world government really wanted to get it of corruption and might tap blockchain technology to at least curb it, might be possible, but I don't those sitting government officials will happily accept it.

"It always goes back up"

Bullshit.

To be fair, I don't think this statement is being used that much with altcoins though, mostly just with bitcoin. Though bitcoin is never guaranteed to "go back up", if there's a coin in the cryptocurrency space that's most likely to go up, it's definitely bitcoin. But of course, as always, risk control.

Those who think that shitcoins will "always go back up" are simply delusional.

This one, altcoins investors still think that we are still in 2017, damn boys, a lot of thing have change already. The business model that is ICO project  have been exposed already that's why I already stay away from investing on "to good to be true" project.

And perhaps the altcoin market is already saturated that no project can produce the magic of 2017. To @Mr_Akbar - I guess you are just venting here, but it's normal though, at least you are sharing us your experience that can be valuable to most individual here.
6146  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why Bitcoin may be doomed on: August 09, 2019, 05:14:20 AM
Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies in general are wonderful things and probably have potential to enhance our everyday life in aspect that we cant even fathom, but there is a problem when it come to progress, most poeple are afraid of what they cannot understand without putting their mind at work (which they probably wont do), and will avert something new even if it has incredible benefits. this is why crypto will have to face the reality that most common people are not savvy enough to trust something as conceptual as cryptocurrencies, not to tell that it requires a phd, but a minimum is necessary to secure one's fund.

This was being said during the early days of Internet as well, not accessible, expensive. But look at how it grows in the last two decade. I think bitcoin will go to that same learning curve. I don't know how young are you and I"m not sure if you have seen the old modem, 56/kbps dial up.

In fact Cryptocurrency just need to be more accessible and more user-friendly, most people don't have a clue on how banking system work but they are still willing to use it and put their life saving in it, if some entity find the right balance between security and usability, i think this might help but hope that people will educate their self in the future is a bit unrealistic.

Again, Bitcoin or crypto is still in its infancy, and there will be a lot of changes in the next 10 years that will make it more accessible and more user friendly in the future. And I'm sure that people will adopt as well, it's own nature innate is us that why we are still here in the 21st century. You just need to give it some time.

So Carmelo Anthony also turned down by the Team USA? He tried to join but denied. It will completely make him feel more down plus the status he is facing this free agency.

The reason why does make sense and I agree to that. He will just destroy the momentum of the current Team USA lineup.

Should now serve a lesson for Melo to changed his behavior. He only has few seasons to go before hanging his jersey. Why just now he is determined to get back on the stage. Looks like he surely thinks that NBA teams will always seek for his service but turned out negative.

CARMELO ANTHONY WAS TURNED DOWN BY USA BASKETBALL

Yeah. Just like the good old Vince Carter.  Grin
Still staying strong despite the injuries that happened to him which almost ended his career.
Melo really got some mental issues that he cannot went through. While Carter is like the opposite of him with a happy ending despite no rings in his fingers.

Melo needs a lot of skills to showcase before the league scouts will be intrigued to him again. Better work it out now. Words will not help him.

Vince Carter was loved more than Carmelo Anthony. I dunno but perhaps Vince was simply more lovable than Melo.

Melo's light is now flickering. He's simply running out of time. He's had his chances before and that was all. There is no more point showcasing a lot of skills now or in the coming season. He is getting old, mate. Time to pass the ball to the younger ones in the NBA.

I would have to agree, Vince Personality specially when he is in Toronto back in the days was different. Maybe he was not as boastful as Carmelo during their pick. Plus Carmelo is expected to do more specially he is being compared to Lebron James.

Melo may have some years left in him, but time is not on his side. If he really wanted to continue to play maybe NBA is not a perfect fit for me, he can try somewhere else.

I guess the question is what will be the last straw to really make Carmelo think and change his attitude. He is one of the best pure scorer we have seen but it's really unfortunate to see him going out like this. Will this recent snub by the Team USA will be a rude awakening for him?

I agree that this should serve a lesson for Melo, otherwise he can't go back to NBA anymore and maybe forgotten. NBA has changed a lot since he entered, so if he thinks that he can still command NBA teams, then he is completely wrong.
6149  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Pacquiao Vs Mayweather 2 on: August 08, 2019, 01:52:58 PM
Since we have been hearing the argument that Floyd will come out of his retirement if there is money in the table, how much money is worth to get Mayweather fight Pacquiao?

$300 M? $400 M? $500 M guaranteed price money?

He is not called Money Mayweather for nothing. So it will be obvious, that he will milk the boxing fans as much, so it could be $500 million or more. Right now that amount is really absurd, but who knows, promoters will likely push and have their business contacts to raised that money in order to produce more money after all, boxing is a lucrative business.

DarkDays, you mean Charlie Zelenoff?  Grin

6150  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: August 08, 2019, 01:24:53 PM
And of course, Kyrgios is out in the first round of the next tournament. Kyle Edmund was good enough to win in two easy sets. Should have placed a bet on this one since I had a feeling Kyrgios celebrated after winning Washington and this match was quite soon after that final.

It seems nobody is watching early rounds at Montreal or at least writing about it? I usually like to bet in early rounds since it is easier to predict some upsets with good odds, but this time I didn't even had time to browse trough offer.

Kyrgios defeat is surprising as I was expecting his victory at Washington to inspire him to win more titles, it’s about time he get serious about how he plays his game. The fight with the umpire regarding the lack of towels was unnecessary, and on the other hand Edmund kept his cool and won the match. Earlier rounds can get tricky at times especially in matches like this, you never know when Kyrgios is in mood and when he isn’t.

Source: https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/tennis/9671243/watch-tennis-nick-kyrgios-umpire-white-towel/

This could be one of the worst winners so far this year. After raising the trophy he went and crush out in the next tournament. Haven't heard this from men's side though. Womens? it happen a lot as far as I know.

The only consistent with Nick is being inconsistent. If he could just muster a few moments in his tennis career to just focus and concentrate about playing good tennis, he could be in the top four right now. It is really sad to see a player with the talent just wasting his time playing the sports in which many individuals wanted to be in his position.

Can't they invest enough in security, I don't understand

I'm sure they have invested so much money in security or at least a good opsec 24x7. But how can you protect when in light of some news that the hacking incident was supposedly with the help of someone inside?

They offered some bounty to capture the culprit but I guess they really need some internal cleansing as well. Screening their opsec should be the order of the day for them, removed the bad eggs and replace them with people that are not 'blinded by money', so to speak.

If TA is bullshit then we will not have tradingview.  Grin

The problem is that as crypto blossoms and so are a lot of so called experts in TA. Lots of members posting their TA here, but do they really back it up?

For me it's not bullshit, I still remember some TA way back then in 2017, wherein it predicted the down trend as a result of China's U-turn or FUD against bitcoin and Jamie Dimon's subsequent attack. Weeks prior, she's been telling that thru TA the price will experience a massive downtrend without the news that time. Everyone was laughing at her, but as soon as the price tanks, everyone took her seriously.

Sorry to hear that mate, I think you take a big risk here so I guess you have to pay for it. Not rubbing it in, and I do hope that you learn a very hard and expensive lesson that gambling is not the solution to recover what you have lost in your invested, on the contrary it make it worst.

And I'm sure majority of investors or gamblers here have been in your position one time or another. It's really a painful experience, but that it life and you need to face the consequence and just focus on the future. So best of luck to you!!!
6155  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Pacquiao Vs Mayweather 2 on: August 06, 2019, 02:26:47 PM
@Kemarit. That will be an argument of a lifetime hehe. Also, it might be a quicker negotiation this time if Floyd and Manny decide yes on the rematch. Pacman has signed to be managed by Al Haymon beginning last year.

When Pacman and Mayweather fought, it was already being billed as once in a lifetime match. If a rematch was to happen, all those people that paid good money to watch this 'once-in-a-lifetime; fight would feel kinda duped. So that's why I think, even if they wanted to, they wouldn't do a rematch.

Pacquiao has been pretty active in the last few years, whereas Mayweather has only been in 2 exhibition matches that I doubt he even trained for. It would be a complete whomp for Mayweather and not fair at all.

Yes, it was billed as 'once in a lifetime' match, but for me it didn't live it's hype because Mayweather didn't engage Pacquiao, and besides he has his shoulder injury (Manny).

Pacquaio chooses to be active, while Mayweather wanted to make easy money by fighting exhibition matches. But I think Mayweather will train very hard if ever a rematch will happen. It really has to happen, with a lot of boxing fans wanting to see and I'm sure they are willing to shell out top dollars again to see the two of them dancing in the ring again.

Ok guys I just has this thought last night. I was watching Zion W. highlights in youtube and I was amazed by this kid, he was also a freak in nature. So this lead me to question the NBA fans here.

Which do you think is more gifted overall? The Greek Freak - Giannis or Zion who even though is too heavy at 285 lbs but can freely move around, jumps so high for a dunk and even a block and very very agile for his frame?

We will never know unless Zion play with the big boys. The NBA is very different from college basketball, we have seen a lot of high potential picks in the previous years that went bust when they enter the league.

I remember Darius Miles, very athletic in his college days, dunking on everyone, however, when he enter the league, he still have the same game, but we all know that you can't just jump over any players in the NBA, it's not that sustainable and you need to developed.

So we need to see how Zion's body will react to the 80++ games in the NBA and see if he can still maintain that athleticism.
6158  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Is bounty campaign profitable in 2019 or no? on: August 01, 2019, 11:42:19 AM
Pretty obvious, the altcoin market hasn't bounce back from the bearish market of 2018 that's why bounty campaign is no longer profitable as it used to be. Personally, I have joined a bounty in 2018 and although the token has been released to some exchange, but the product is still evolving and I can't even sell it to make money out of my work promoting that project.

Unlike 2017 wherein once you got paid, in about two weeks you can easily liquidate everything and project easily listed it on exchange, unlike today.
6159  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: WPN Earns Guinness World Record for $5M Venom Payment in Crypto on: August 01, 2019, 11:18:31 AM
I think this is an impressive record and I think it will stay in the Guinnes quite for a long time.I know many persons and gamblers want to beat this record but it looks like it will be extremely difficult to do so,we are not in 2017 anymore where the interest in crypto was only booming.

Not unless some big poker sites offer so much crypto money then the record will stay atop for so long.

And if I got it right, the total winning package is $5 million dollars and the winners get $1 million. But it is still impressive as you have said, and it may open the pandora's box for other poker crypto and even fiat related sites, specially the amount of money involved. And maybe some professional would shift their attention to this whole crypto related sites, so we will see.
6160  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tyson vs Fury 2: The Rematch on: July 31, 2019, 10:23:42 PM
I have no doubt that this will push through next year, there's a lot of money to be made here so for sure, whoever manages both of this fighter will go and set it up, although there is a verbal agreement already.

We have seen what Fury can do in the first fight and I'm sure majority of boxing fans here see him as the winner in their first fight. He will be the favourite in the rematch so I'll be putting money on Fury again, by UD or either a KO win. Wilder weaknesses is a pure boxer and he doesn't have that gas tank to stay active for full 12 rounds.

@Soots - I don't know if you have seen his performance against Wilder, or even against Tom Schwarz. He is definitely back on top again and has move on already.
