This may be too resource-intensive, but to cut down on redundant threads by legitimate new users, what about some sort of auto-lookup of thread subjects to see similar threads for a particular topic being created?
I agree the manual promotion of newbies would too be time consuming for overworked moderators. It will be more easy to navigate if the post links open in new tab. At now if any link is clicked the current tab is redirected to that URL.

I'm so fed up with this sort of stuff, that I couldn't even be bothered to ignore or report it. I just quit the board. The reason why I dont visit that section any more. It is another merit hunting ground for the shitposters hoping some kind hearted soul would grant them some. The merit system was put in place by Theymos to stop garbage posting. With the state the forum was in, I think it was almost too late. It's going to take a long time to pull out of this nosedive and start being a place we can have interesting discussions again. We all need to be vigilant and let these scammers realize eventually merits will run out. |

Report the post, I just did. I already see vod red trusted the account but not for the merit trading reason. Yeah, if a person starts out by breaking the rules, you don't expect them to follow the rules in the future. It would be nice to see more DT paint for obvious buying of merit. |

I do believe that bitcoin will hit 20k this year, Why? Demand for cryptocurrencies is exponentially increasing, so will the demand for BTC. There have been some bad news in the media about Bitcoin, but I think that that had only a temporary effect.
That's like saying cars are becoming more popular, so stock for the Ford Model T will go through the roof.... Bitcoin was the first and it gave us the blockchain, but it is an inferior cryptocurrency now. :/  |
